It was Wells Fargo reminding me about a late payment...

This is not a Wells Fargo number, its a fraud/scam.  Please report and file a complaint this to the Federal Trade Commission so that they can investigate and put a stop this scary fraud/scam.

Hey, EVERYBODY HERE IS RIGHT!!!  First, the number is in fact a valid number used by WellsFargo credit card collections (as I just found out, by calling another WF number and discovering that I did have an overdue card payment).

HOWEVER, that doesn't mean that a scammer can't fake their Caller ID field to show this number.  That's a very simple thing to do if you are in the phone scam business, and it would be a pretty obvious number to use.

Let's all calm down a bit, OK? :)

Ryan is right.  I had the exact same thing happen! It's legitimately Wells Fargo.

I kept getting calls from this number but I actually do have a Wells Fargo account, so I went in to the bank to ask about the call. They said my account was fine and that I had no late payments or insufficient funds like the call claimed. It's a scam.

I called wells fargo directly, they told me to report this to their fraud department.  I don't have a wells fargo credit card. I don't owe them any money.  If this was a true wells fargo, the number when googled would show their name associated with the number. This number does not associate with Wellsfargo.  Google any number on wellsfargo and it will show up associated with their account.

It is not!  I called WellsFargo fraud and the number is being investigated.

Legitimate call from Wells Fargo (which I actually appreciated because I forgot to make my payment!!)  Glad they phoned and I referenced this site to see it was them before it dinged my credit report!
