Rec’d a call from SS Finance processing department, Melanie. When I filed a claim, I didn’t provide my direct deposit information. So, when I got approved, they said in the letter I may receive a call for more information. They verified my address & phone#. They read it to me, I did not provide it to them. Since I wanted direct deposit I did provide them my banks routing number. After the call, I did call my bank. They said they could put a supervisor alert on my account & any requests for monies the supervisor will check it out before approving. Since I didn’t price out any other info like my debit CC info.
03/06/20 Friday 8:23pm, I checked my SSA.gov online access account (anyone with a SSN can get access to) and my direct deposit bank routing information is now showing up online. It wasn’t there before the phone call.

- BigA replies to Don IToday is Sunday. No government workers today. That should be well known. If you request a callback they will start out with the name you recorded. Other then that SS does not call. I would suggest that you immediately go to the FTC website on Identity Theft and read and follow those instructions.
