Yes fedex does try to contact the recipient 1st when the address is incorrect and driver codes it as needing an address correction. There are approx 60+ coded as needing corrections daily because recipients mess up their addresses, leave off apt # bad street number.

Received call and voicemail (woman with accent, cockatiels singing in the background) at  9:45 PM saying they were Fedex Ground and couldn't deliver a package.. References a bogus Reference number, not an actual tracking number. Googled number to find that this is a scam or Identity Theft attempt. Did not call back

This is a good call.  It's not FedEx but FedEx Ground.  Totally different division.  They couldn't deliver a Walmart order as addressed.  They left a case number.  I was tracking the order and already knew it had a bad address.  When I called, I gave them the case number then asked them to confirm the tracking numbers and address they couldn't deliver too.  They were able to answer both.  I gave them a different address and within 15 minutes tracking was updated to show my package was rerouted.  It delivered the next day.

My call, John, was very polite.
He may have had an Indian accent. He told me all my personal information, with the exception of my unit number. He mentioned the shipping label was damage (an issue I knew about from my FedEx tracking information).

Two calls back to back. Indian woman named “Marty.” Calling to confirm my address to deliver a package. But we have already had FedEx deliver packages without problem to our address so it seemed fishy so I looked it up. Definitely feels scammy.

DO NOT CALL BACK! Contact FedEx instead.  This number called me later in the day after I spoke with FedEx to set up a package pickup at a FedEx location.  I thought it was weird I got a phone call from "FedEx" saying they were going to attempt delivery again.  To be safe just DO NOT CALL BACK and verify ANY of your information.  Find the original number of the company and contact them instead, if it was a legitimate call then they will have it in their system that they tried to contact you!

Said they sent samples but has wrong address.  They wanted me to send them an email with all my contact info and street address.  Don’t fall for this BS, just Indian scammers and a new pitch.

Never trust a caller to be whom they claim to be. All packages have a tracking number and you can simply go to their website to get info on your package(s).

I also got a message claiming to be from FedEx but I haven't ordered anything so I know its a scam.  Male caller said they needed to confirm the same details I've seen in other posts. Nope not calling.

This is in fact fed ex 1-833-372-5815. Not a scammer. But they didn't ask my tracking #. They already had my address and trying to deliver a package they were unable to find address. I know they are having trouble and called number back it goes to Fed ex.

Then why are you here? Do you often look up known phone numbers when there's not logical reason to do so? And have you never heard of phone number spoofing? This number may (or may not) go to FedEx but that doesn't mean all calls from it are legitimate.

Left me a voicemail about undeliverable package and left a case #. Called them back, they had my full name once I gave case # but had my old address from like 15 years ago… I gave current address and then call dropped. This is all info they could have obtained from the internet so I’m not sure what the purpose of this scam would be if it is a scam….
