I got the same calls as many others. 2 over the course of a week and then a letter in the mail. For some supposed Bank debt that they bought from separate third-party collection agency listed right on the letter. It gives you some grand offer of cutting hundred dollars off but warns will get notice with the IRS due to the great deal they're giving you.  It did the exact same letter they've got sued about in the past where you cannot pay it off in full, because it's constantly accruing some unknown percentage of interest. and you may have to file taxes on it. These people never leave a voicemail don't say who they're looking for and are not responding to multiple letters sent stating to cease contact by phone and to verify what debt talking about with some tangible proof.

If after telling the collector you are not Jeffery Baer, they continue to engage you in conversation, they are in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). You need to keep a record of the date, time of the call, persons name and what was said, if they call and leave messages, retain them. Most of these firms have voice recording and records of every call. You need to identify the company that is calling you, then send them a Cease and Desist letter, via certified mail, return receipt. You can check the tracking on line, usually within 24 hours of receipt the calls will stop, if the collection agency reputable.
If they DO NOT STOP, your rights have been violated and you can seek up to $1K in damages from the collection agency, plus court cost and attorney's fees. Google collection agency harassment or abuse and you'll find examples of letters and consumer protection attorneys.  Having the records of dates time who called numbers is invaluable to proving your case.

Robocall asking someone who never lived here.

 It's a big scam.  I don't owe any money for loans, present and past, and yet they continue to call me.  I bought a call blocker to take care of these weenies...

They were looking for my ex son in law. My daughter divorced him in 2008. I told them this and they were very nice and said they would take my number out of their system.

Called me when answered no answer I'm getting tired of this crap

Calls our office every single morning and we have learned not to answer 855, 844 or 866 calls as these are telemarketers or wrong numbers.  It is a robo call and we just hang up.  We have a pool going on how long they will continue this quest of ??? stupidity??

The Unlawful debt collector's could give a crap about any laws.  I've reported a few companies to the FTC, sent letters and NOTHING.  There's the problem - they are not legit so they continue to do whatever they want.

Tell them you are reporting them to the FDCPA - always stops them!

first time they called this week, called 4 times, missed it, I dont answer strange calls anyway, left no msg.
Get too many junk BS calls every day from different numbers, I stopped answering for good about a year ago.  It's a waste of time and breath, to answer or call back.  If any debts, collection agencies will only mail you a letter via snail mail, they never call.  I had blocked the call, from my landline.  I can block calls from my phone service account online.  It's great!

Monarch Recovery: bottom feeders.  Ignore or block them.  Debt is a CIVIL not a CRIMINAL matter.  They can't send deputies or police officers to arrest you, etc., etc., etc. and any measures they take involve lengthy court proceedings at which you have to be present.  Since they don't have the paperwork or data to back up their zombie claims, they'd be laughed out of court and would never go that route anyway.
They're a nuisance and nothing else.  Just leeches attempting to terrify senior citizens and the uninformed.  Laugh at them and forget them.

they called me, asking me to verify who I was, I asked 'WHY?' They said it is 'A personal matter.' They want to know my Birthdate. I asked what date they have in their file, but they can't do that! Sounds like Phishing, to me.

It's illegal for a collection agency to continue to contact you once you've told them they have a wrong number. Check the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act. You can sue if they don't stop.

Same number as listed above calling my cell phone but no message left so must be trawling to try to get an answer.  Good luck with that as I don't answer any call for which I don't recognize the number of.

Called. Left no message. Called them back. Ask who they were calling for. They refused to give a name. I told them not to call my number again or I would report them. They appear to be a scam. Be careful out there.
