- Terri replies to KaylaThanks because I just got the call ! Mind you she was eating chips or something . I was told by my tax accountant that the IRS will not call you .
- Kat* replies to BigAI like how one of the companies listed has Con in the name. :-) Yeah, THAT'S going to make me trust them.
- Sasha replies to JoeThe same person just called my phone saying the exact same thing. The thing is, when the IRS contacts you, they usually do it via mail so I hung up The phone on her.
- No $$$$Calls me everyday on my Cell and Work numbers. I have an online account at IRS.gov and it does not show any money owed. if this is an IRS collection service maybe they should be calling Donald J.

- Jack Tugwell replies to Sharla| 1 replyno it is not and you know it is not
- BigA replies to Jack TugwellPerformant is one of the debt collection agencies being used by the IRS. https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-business ... debt-collection
- DEESTAR replies to GunnarYou are wrong i received a legal paper from the irs on the document they do list this collection agency
- Dion replies to Kayla| 1 replyActually they do use collection companies. Several of them in fact.
- BigA replies to DionThat subject has been covered in this thread numerous times since that person posted in 2018. Why people insist on replying to posts that are months, years, or even decades old and then expecting those people to stop back to see the reply is beyond anyone's comprehension.
- Kristy replies to Kaylathe IRS will never call is correct. However, they do use Performa Recovery as a collection agency. If you owe the IRS money they will mail you a letter letting you know when they send the info to the collection agency. It is not a scam. You should have already received a letter both from the IRS and Performa once they call.
- Jen replies to Kayla| 3 repliesThey actually do use a collection agency now. This is straight from the IRS website https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-business ... debt-collection
- Dave L replies to SharlaIt is no longer legit when they are informed no one by that name at this number and stop calling. Now it is harassment and illegal.
- Addi replies to NTSo it’s not even the same phone number.... the link you posted gave the agencies and that agency listed does not have the same number listed that everyone is receiving calls from. I’ve gotten about 5 calls in a row from them. I don’t owe a debt to the IRS. And I never received paperwork. So I think it’s a scam by someone pretending to be them.
- Addi replies to Jen| 2 repliesThat’s not the same phone number.
- BigA replies to Addi| 1 replyWhich proves nothing. Debt collectors have lots of different phone numbers that they use. Further this one does collect other debts besides the ones for the IRS. So you can continue to waste energy replying to posts from people who will never ever see your replies or you can take that energy and find out what the calls are about so that you can properly deal with them. Any collection attempts for Student Loans, the IRS, or consumer debt have to follow the FDCPA.
- Jennifer replies to Sharla| 4 repliesIrs doea not use a collection company. They collect themselves.
- MikeHuntleton replies to Jennifer| 3 repliesYou are behind the times, in need of an update and yes, they do use Private Debt Collections services. You should have kept reading and you would have found this posted:
https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-business ... debt-collection - BigA replies to MikeHuntleton| 2 repliesI'm beginning to think that the same troll is coming back and replying to that post. Same thing has been posted a whole lot of times lately.
- Anon.| 4 repliesHere is the newest for you. Some woman calls me, she rattles on real fast her so-called ID number. She asked my full name for security. I gave her my name, not middle, she asked my address. I gave her that which she should already have. I’m moving anyways here soon. I had no way to write things down. What’s interesting, she says that for security purposes, she can’t text info or email. I think its because they don’t want you to have black & white printed proof. Anybody have some input on this ??
