Which proves nothing.  Debt collectors have lots of different phone numbers that they use.  Further this one does collect other debts besides the ones for the IRS.  So you can continue to waste energy replying to posts from people who will never ever see your replies or you can take that energy and find out what the calls are about so that you can properly deal with them.  Any collection attempts for Student Loans, the IRS, or consumer debt have to follow the FDCPA.

You are behind the times, in need of an update and yes, they do use Private Debt Collections services. You should have kept reading and you would have found this posted:

I'm beginning to think that the same troll is coming back and replying to that post.  Same thing has been posted a whole lot of times lately.

Here is the newest for you. Some woman calls me, she rattles on real fast her so-called ID number. She asked my full name for security. I gave her my name, not middle, she asked my address. I gave her that which she should already have. I’m moving anyways here soon. I had no way to write things down. What’s interesting, she says that for security purposes, she can’t text info or email. I think its because they don’t want you to have black & white printed proof. Anybody have some input on this ??

You need to read more than one post to understand the conversation.  As to you first question, that has already been answered which you would have found out by reading past the first post.

Nothing new about that, as Debt Extortion scammers will spoof legitimate names and numbers to try fooling the victims into believing they are legitimate. They spew out mumbo-jumbo nonsense so fast it makes no sense, but want you to be clear and concise.

If you owe the IRS and got a call from this number, then call the actual IRS and find out what you can do to resolve your issue. If you don't owe any money, then it is an obvious scammer who called, so ignore it. EVERYONE who owes the IRS was sent Notice long before it went to a collection company.
Common sense should dictate that you should contact an official published number of whomever is calling that you suspect is not who they appear to be.

Let's see, the troll replied to me and I guess it did not expect me to know that it did.   But I actually saw the reply on the homepage before I saw it elsewhere.  It has a severe reading problem but that of course is my fault.  I guess because I used words longer then one syllable?

Seems to be one of your fan club admirers that can't get enough of you. Next you will see candy and flowers with little heart shapes over the letter "i".

Sharla is 100% correct. I received a letter in mail from performa and I had an outstanding irs debt from 2011. I was able to pay it through the IRS site.

So, you ignored all the letters the IRS sent you?  Now 9 years later you paid the debt including all the interest and penalties that were added on?  I find that hard to believe.

Exactly. IRS will garnish ur wages or go after ur personals on their own. It’s always said the IRSand social security do not call u for personal info. So don’t trust them.

I was able to call back, so they aren't total scammers.

The address is Pob 9045, cali,  94566.  the have another number ... 844-?07-9367 and  fax 925-373-5824.

Still, I would not send them any money.

Just because you were able to call back doesn't mean "they aren't total scammers."
