Now calling Toronto. I never answer any '800"  number, nor any that does not have a caller ID. If it is legit, they can leave
a message. When any such  number calls,  I look it up on this site. If a scam , I block the number. My Panasonic phone can block up to 1,000 numbers - gotta love that!

Undoubtedly a spoofed toll free number that may or may not be listed as the legitimate support number for HP. I get these calls endlessly on my work phone.  I just stopped answering.  If I don't recognize the number and no message is left, then I chalk it up to a scammer.  The FCC and phone companies need to get on a solution to these forged number scams already. It's only getting worse.

This number called me today 3 times in fairly rapid intervals.  First two times phone showed 18448141800 and the number beneath that - 1:08pm and 1:39pm (Eastern).  Third time Caller ID showed 800 Service and the number beneath that - 1:59pm.  No messages were left.  I have my phone set to only ring twice on calls that aren't in my 'address book'.  If it makes it to a third ring, then I check to see who's calling.

these people called me and said they would lock me out of my computer if I would not allow them access of my computer for them to give me a credit. I hung up on them and called HP, I told HP these people have been in business since 2015, why have they been allowed to do this to people for so long? I gave HP this phone number they are using, if this continues then it is now on HP.

I just called redialed the number and spoke with an HP agent. He is from a foreign country and said it's a hacked number. He suggested to block the number and if any solicited calls come from someone representing HP do not allow them to remotely get into your PC or they will download something you do not want. Don't have a conversation with them, just hang up and have their number blocked. HP customer service phone number is 1 (800) 474-6836.

Got called from them claiming to be from HP tech support and knew my model number and even I did a return.  They showed me eventviewer had a lot of errors and tried to fear monger me with my network is compromised and also said I had the zeus trojan.  Don't worry if you have Norton they scan for that so don't be fooled.  I let them look at my computer and they put a new start up password to block me.  Luckily for me I was using a back up drive so had to reformat my ssd and copy from my oem drive.  They try to push me to get a 1yr $99 3yr,  $199 5yr $299 and lifetime tech support for $349.  I said I need to think about it and they seem pushy then I got suspicious and said I don't have time for this and they disconnect and I had to waste a couple of hrs fixing my laptop.  Before you waste time and headache have them identify themselves first and show proof or better yet look up the number.

Since you willingly gave them access to your computer, they have taken everything that was on it. Passwords, contacts, account numbers, everything, and have probably installed malware or maybe even ransomware. You now need to take that computer in to a real computer shop and have them look it over.

Same annoying scam... about computer service already being paid for, and all I needed to do was log in on my computer and (I didn't wait to hear the rest). Had the same thick Indian accent as described by Koko L, and bad grammar. Before hanging up I politely said "now is not a good time to talk." He called back and asked why I hung up. I repeated myself and asked him not to call me back. He insisted that he would call me back and that I needed to give him two minutes of my time... I told him not to call me back... he said he would keep calling until I gave him two minutes of my time... I told him he was in violation of the law... he said he would keep calling me back again and again and again. And he tried. LoL!

The first time I got a call an Indian guy said he was from HP and my computer had a problem. I told him it was a scam and I don't own a computer.
Second call of the day was missed so I called back and was told I reached HP support. I pressed 2 and told "Lisa" I was going to report the call
