Dec. 1, 2010 - The Colorado Attorney General's office filed a lawsuit against Regent Asset Management Solutions, Inc. on suspicion that they engaged in the unlicensed collection of debt in Colorado and violated Colorado consumer protection statutes. Regent Asset Management Solutions collected debts after its license with the state expired. The company is also suspected of not providing consumers it contacted with evidence of teh debts it was attempting to collect.
November 15, 2011 DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today that the state has secured a court order barring Regent Asset Management Solutions, Inc., a Denver-based debt collection agency, and its CEO, Michael A Scata (DOB: 5/6/1954), from engaging in the unlicensed collection of debt in Colorado in violation of the Colorado Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. The order also requires that Regent Asset Management Solutions pay the state $70,000 in civil penalties for violations of the Colorado Consumer Protection Act.

Ignore and block any calls from this number or IRP group.
If they are bothering you, report them:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.) The same goes for endless telephone harassment
Also contact your local attorney general
If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.
You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because, being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking), the only thing they understand.- Caller: Informational post

- BigA replies to J PUsing the information CWG40 has provided:
You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation, cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested). Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it. Make a notion of that fact at the bottom of the letter. You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to. Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment. If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it. Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front): http://www.consumeradvocates.org/
http://www.consumeradvocates.org/find-an-atto ... tates_value=All
If you feel you SSN has been compromised, in addition to putting a fraud alert at the 3 credit bureaus, you may want to notify the IRS. Here is the link, fill out the proper form (probably 14039):
http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/How-Do-You-Rep ... aud-Activity%3F
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

I said that I had no idea what she was talking about and that she should delete our number from her data base. She became vicious saying she does not have to do that because she is an "attorney." - K Castroa man who said his name was Eric SIngletary was quite rude telling me "don't you watch the news- why are you afraid a message on your phone teliing you we are filing papers against your address". "why sould you be afraid of a threatening phone call"- because Mr Unprofessional- if you had the decency to listen to my concern- the person you keep calling trying to reach has not lived in this home for over 10 years- you are unfortunately a very unprofessional and aggressive
He is racially biased and wants to preach a violent message- I suggest your agency check into his ethics as he is aggressive on an unwarranted bases.

- Anonymousleft messege says she is giving me the opportunity to talk to them about some payday loan company who says i did not pay them from 2013 before they take court action against me. I called back to see what was up and I guess she was surprised when I told her to file her civil suit against me. She then had the nerve to ask for my home address (WHAT A CLOWN). I have not received any notification in the mail from this company and if I ever do I will take legal action against them. She also says that she will report to credit bureau (well I say be my guest). I am so very tried of these people that I just tell them all to take me to court. Really, I will gladly go.

- Ed| 5 repliesReceived a call from "Allison Schrader" and the next day from "Sarah Schrader" (twins? sisters? mother/daughter?) trying to reach my son saying something was going to be attached to his Social Security # and they needed information from him or they would make their report without him. This call was to a brand new landline phone number that hasn't been used nor given out - even to our friends! I know my son has no outstanding bills and we've dealt with these types of idiots in the past. It gets very frustrating, but I just let them blab into the answering machine and then delete the message!

- AnonymoustooCalled and left a voice mail similiar to the ones listed in earlier postings. BLOCK!
- AngelaGot a call from them twice. They left a message for my sister, who doesn't live with me. She also got a call. She followed up earlier today and was told there was a collection for some dental charges in Colorado. We have never been there. They wanted to verify they had the correct person, so they gave her the last four digits of a s.s.# that was not hers.
I got the call later in the morning and I followed up with them that I am not the person they are looking for. I told them that they were already contacted by my sister regarding this and the man on the phone denied it. He was quite rude. Then he had the audacity to ask for her number. I told him I would not divulge that info and asked to be removed from their list. He then said--get this--"I won't remove your number until you give me hers."
I hung up and have blocked the number.- Caller: IRP Associates

- VictoriaI've gotten 2 calls from these people they don't state what company they are from they just say there is a case with my SSN and give them a call back this is urgent, this is their second attempt at contacting me. The first time was Allison Schrader then it was Sarah Schrader. So I don't know really what the deal is but I once fell for a scam like this and paid the company then the bank had to get my money back so I just don't answer these calls. They can send me something in writing.

- wandaCalled me yesterday with the same lines about a case connected to our ssn. Ignored and let the answering machine get it.
