Received 2 automated phone calls regarding an account I don't have (no costco account. no citibank costco account).  Called back and got automated message that wanted account number or social security number.  Skipped to live rep. Told woman I do not have a Costco account, nor do I have a Citibank Costco account.  Wanted to stop receiving calls.  Ask for my phone number.  I provided this.  Then she wanted my name.  Told her the only info you have of me is my phone number I will not provide any other info to you.  She tells me she needs to very who she is speaking with because there are 3 names associated with this phone number.   ?????  No one in my household has a Costco membership.  Seems like these people are just fishing for info.  If they are legit, I would be surprised.  Blocked number.

Keeps receiving robo-calls even though we're on the do-not-call registry.  I do not have a costco citibank card and do not want one!  But there's no way to stop the calls because they're automated.

This is Citibank.  If you had a Costco Amex credit they switched to Citibank and they put a charge for Costco membership without authorization from me.  I do not use Costco except when they had it under America which was paid off.  I had a zero balance.  Now Citibank activated my card without authorization from me and charged membership fee for Costco without my permission.

UPDATE: THIS IS A TOTALLY VALID CALL AND NUMBER  --->WHOOPS - THEY DID LEAVE A message re: Citibank, and costco visa card. (Asking me to check my Costco Visa balance) I called Citi independently from another Citi card I have. I was transferred over to the Costco Visa department. They knew I had received a call about my card and I DID have a balance (I thought I had paid it off and wound up the account.) THIS IS A TOTALLY VALID CALL AND NUMBER AND REQUEST - IT IS NOT A SCAM (Also - call in from a known valid citibank card number and they will transfer you if you don't trust it.)

This number calls me 3-4 times a day, leaves NO message.

I am now on the phone with Costco and she is checking why this is happening ... she said she called the # and it IS Costco about paying bill.  *I* paid on Dec 6 so why are they calling EVERYDAY 3-4 times.  If this is a collection section of Costco Visa then there has to be a better way for them to handle their business.

If the woman now on the phone with me cannot figure it out, I will put the number on BLOCKED.

I pay my bills so no need for them to constantly contact me!  Unless they are calling to tell me they have waived ALL charges back to Zero amount.  ta dahhh.  THAT call I would welcome - if they leave a message.

I got a new phone number and they would call five times a day. I finally called them back and it was CitiBank for a Costco card. They were quickly able to remove my new number from their list as I was obviously not the person attached to the account.

Just got a new cell phone. Right away before anyone other than the provider has this number, I start getting calls from this number. 4 and 5 a day. I just got another one, and picked up. The voice on the other end asked for Susan. I indicated that there is no one hear by that name, and asked who I was talking to. The voice said it was the bank. That's it. Wouldn't identify the bank, or what the call was about. From the previous posts, CostCo and AmEx are mentioned. I'm not a CostCo member and I don't have an AmEx card. Sounds like a scam to me, or at least a debt collector...

Not sure if it is legit. I stupidly called the number on the letter and gave him my info, then I got a feeling I better not complete the transaction. Now I am calling back to the number on the back of the card. I thought I made a payment through my bank, but I most not have. They have been calling me 5 x a day since Friday. I finally picked it up today, then they hung up on me. Citibank Visa, through Costco, did verify that someone had taken my info, but it did not process (because I told him I would call him back) so stupid of me. Hopefully, all will be good and I will more careful next time.

This number calls several times a day.  I have blocked them because I use to have a Costco credit card, never authorized Costco to renew my membership as I had no balance at all.  I called Costco directly and they said they did auto renewed my membership.  Told them no, I only used their membership once, paid off my bill and never renewed membership.  They cleared my balance out but they still call and call so now they are blocked!  Think it's a scam because I never authorized renewal.

Calls our office 3 or 4 times a day. Never answers when you don't just say "Hello" (we have a greeting and they always hang up automatically). Just hang up on them now.

This phone number is most definitely a scam. According to Citibank (as well as Chase & USBANK who have also been spoofed) if a credit card company is demanding payment, even for a closed account, they will always send several paper requests for it first (3-5) and still usually they want call after that but will send you to a third party collections agency who will contact you first by mail then phone. Additionally while credit card companies do call from toll-free numbers, they will come into callerID as the name of the company & will only be calling for one reason: in the event of a fraud alert being triggered on your account. If a credit card company calls and you are unsure of the legitimacy, the safest way to make sure you don't compromise your SSN or any other private info is to tell the caller you will call back. Then you should call back using the number on the back of your card OR the contact number listed on their website.

I've been getting calls from this number About a Costco Visa card I don't even have. It just requests a call back. I blocked the number and haven't called back because I don't know what kind of info they could get if I did. The person that leaves the message has a foreign British accent. SCAM!!!

This number calls me nearly every day, even though I'm on the DNC list and blocked this number. The message identifies them as Citibank and they "want to talk to me about my Visa account." I have never had a Citibank account or a Visa credit card, and they leave the same message every time.

Same here.  We don't even have Costco here and I have avoided Citibank like the plague for 30 years.  It's a scam.  I think some resourceful criminal is spoofing their number to look more legit.
