A gentleman began by explained that he was attempting to correct an over billing on the merchant account. He said that in April a rate increase went into affect that was only suppose to affect large merchants and that their company was made aware in August that those rates had also been passed on to small merchants.  The gentleman identified himself as Rob Stevens.  He said that his company was conducting a review of accounts.  He asked that I take a look at our August statement.  He asked for the total sales and then the total fees debited from the sales and did a preliminary calculation to determine that we are being charged 2.7% by the merchant services company.  He asked if I could see on the statement what the actual rates where that we are being charged.  I told him that there was a long list of different rates for different types of card purchases.  Of course, he then requested that I fax our August statement to him while he waited on the telephone so that they could look at the different fees.  After he received the fax, he then explained that he needed to pass the statement along to his supervisor so that they could examine each line item more closely and that someone would have to call us back to discuss what they found.  He then patched me through to his supervisor to confirm that I understood that his company was not affiliated the our merchant services.  The supervisor identified himself as Lawrence Walker from Wholesale Bank.  I asked for a telephone number.  1-855-881-9367.  He also explained that someone would call us back.  Someone did call back a week later.  The call came from Teddy with Wholesale Bank.  She identified herself as the account manager of our merchant processing company assigned to deal with the over billing that we as well as other small merchants have been paying.  Teddy explained that Walmart entered into a class action lawsuit with MC/V/Disc to process their own merchant services.  One of the results of the lawsuit was that the merchant services companies had to process small businesses at or below 2% including equipment costs.  Our merchant services company was given 90 days to comply with the results of the lawsuit and rectify any overages that they passed on to the small businesses and that they had not complied.  Teddy stated their profit margin is too high and that we were due back alot of money for overages. Also, included with rectifying the processing fees, the merchant services company was responsible for providing compliant equipment as prescribed in the lawsuit results and that the equipment is to be replaced every 18 months.  I was told that merchant services had not complied with this either and that they sent the wrong terminal.  Teddy then explained that because merchant services has not complied with the requirements of the lawsuit that Wholesale Bank will be directly monitoring the merchant account every month for one year.  She explained that Wholesale Bank does not normally act in the role of providing merchant services products but is doing this due to the lawsuit.  She indicated that in order to proceed with the monitoring and the return of the processing fees we would need to sign some documents.  Teddy gave me her direct number 855-881-9271, ext. 1222.   VERY INTERESTING NEW WAY TO HAVE A SMALL BUSINESS SWITCH PROCESSERS UNKNOWINGLY.

Rob Stevens and his supervisor Michelle Mallone called this morning from Wholesale Bank, 855.881.9367. Said we, too, have been charged too much in fees and we were due a refund. Wanted me to look at our last statement and go over it with them. They asked too many questions that I thought they should already have the answers to "IF" they were in fact a part of the company we deal with! Glad I wasn't the only one.

I received a call from Shania who said she was with my credit card company.  She ask me to pull out my statements so she could see if I am compliant with her company.  She said my account was red flagged and that was the reason she was calling.  I had just done my previous months update and I knew there was not a problem.  I did not give her any info.  I hung up and called my credit card provider and they told me this was a SCAM!  The number she called from was 855-881-9367.  Also when I received a call back the lady said her name was Nicole Gibson, statement manager from a direct provider. She wanted to do a PCI review of my account.  She seemed so convincing but I had that doubt, sure enough it was a SCAM!!!!!!!!!!

I received the same call asking for the same type of information, I didn't give them any numbers, figures, or any other information I played stupid like I had no idea what they were asking for and I guess she got frustrated and told me she would call back. Nerve racking to know they know your bank name and your company.  But if you do take the call, and said you are being overcharged, don't fax them squat. Tell them they should already have what they need, send you a check immediately. lol

Caller Was Polite, Asked For Me By Name....

Said She Was From "Merchant Services" ( I Didn't Get Her Name) - And That Visa And Mastercard Had Increased Their Rates.. She Wanted To Verify That I Hadn't Been Over Charged And Asked If I Carefully Review My Statements... I Told Her I Do Carefully Review My Statements And That I Haven't Been Overcharged....

She Was Polite, Thanked Me, Said Good Bye And Hung Up....

I'm Actually In The Middle Of Switching CC Processors And Knew She Was Not From Either The New One Or The Old One - Had She Took The Scam Further - I Was Going To Ask Her To Verify My Account Number, After All - She Should Have That If She's With MY Processor..... Right ? ?

After Reading Some Of The Other Comments - Please Don't Fax Them Or Anyone Your Statements - If A Company Over Charged You - THEY WILL NEVER POINT IT OUT ! ! !

You Would Have To Discover It For Yourself.... These People Are Playing On Your Greed.....

Make Em Verify They Are Who They Say They Are - And If So - They Already Have Your Statements In Their Computer..... WHY In The World Would Your Processor Need You To Send THEM Copies Of The Statements They Sent You ? ? ?

Susan Jones was the rep that called me, the more she talked the more I suspected that it was a scam.  She even went to the extent of asking me to take a pic of the statement from my phone and send it to her personal cell phone. That's when I knew for sure that something was phony.  I'm glad that I googled it and that this information was available.

I got the same yesterday morning from Rob Stevens, 972-852-0899, He talked to hubby.  Hubby didn't know anything about our account so we were told to call back: 855-881-9367 ext. 1408.  Rob called back this morning and told me that I was being over charged and he needed me to go over my Nov. & Dec. statements.  I told him that they were already filed away and that I'd have to find them.  He said ok.  I told him it would take me awhile as they weren't stored inhouse.  I asked him to just credit my account for the overage.  He said we were actually overcharged since April and after we go over the last 2 months statements, he would send it to the senior account manager, to see what they could do.  I asked what about January?  He said that it has been taken care of already.  Hmmm, just balanced my January statement, no changes made on it.  Light bulb moment!!!  So, I said that I would have to call him back when I got the 2015 statements.  I have your number you left with hubby.  He was very polite and said he'd be waiting for my call.  I called my cc company and they have no one with that name in their company.

They did all of this to me but I wasn't smart enough to look online first.  I faxed them everything. I called today to cancel and they said they would send me something in writing tomorrow to verify the cancellation.  I am so anxious.  I wish I had looked at these reviews.

Rachel from Merchant Services with Wholesale Bank called and said my merchant services account was being overbilled for the past 3 months (December, January, and February).  She said to email my statements to her with "5%" in the message line.  I told her I was not using this account and wanted to cancel it.  She said her senior analyst could help me with that.  She asked me to look at my statements to give her my merchant id #, but I don't have any statements except bank account statements.  And I was not about to give out bank info over the phone to some random caller.
