The Rebecca Dixon lady, email address rbk253@gmail.com tried to get me to buy a 2005 Nissan Altima on craiglist, using google check out and western union but only wanted me to send it through cash through a google check out agent. Fraud. Something told me to google her name and email and this came. SMH, research!

    WATCH OUT FOR NEW PEOPLE

    Hi,
I have a low price on my 2006 Dodge Charger SRT-8 because I want to sell the car very quickly. The price is $3,400 including delivery to your home address. The car is in perfect condition, no electric problems, no   accidents/liens/loans. No scratches, never been repainted. I have all   the car manuals, title, documents. I'm selling this car because my child   of only 19 died 4 months ago in a car accident,a drunk driver hit him   and his fiancee. He was with his fiance's car coming to our home at his   little brother birthday of 10 years old. The car belonged to my son and   it brings me bad memories and that's the reason I want to sell it. The last price is $3,400. Me and my husband travel a lot with our business and we want to make this deal through eBay's Buyer Protection  Program.I  just need your full name, full shipping address, home/cell #  so I can  open a case.(with no further obligation or fees).eBay will  contact you  with all the Transaction/shipping details you will need.We  will take  care of the shipping so don't worry.

I inquired about the same car and year and received the same email. I knew it was a scam. The email used is now under a female name @ gmail.com. The scammer(s) probably believe it is easier to lure victims using female names and extrapolating stories of a sick/dead loved one. I guess the Nigerians are getting more creative

I was & wasn't scammed, & what got me the most was she kept responding, so it killed me to find out it was a scam.
I was just about to go to walmart & get that money order if I didn't find this site the night before.
So, i'm so thankful this site exists.
But to warn everyone, even if they keep responding, its a scam.

    to me
    Hi again,
I m sorry because you feel like that about me.Now,if you are in my place to sell something, you'll take the risk to cheat people and have the police on your door in a few days?????I don't think so!!! I m in this position!!!! Liberty is more precious then everything in this world!!
I am a 47 year old woman. We are all college educated.  I didn't get to this stage in life by doing dumb things. I want to take this opportunity to assure you that there is nothing to be worried about in this deal. I would never cheat you or swindle you!! I have a reputation to protect and i am a good Christian and I do not want to be imprisoned. You have my word and good faith on the fact that I'll keep my end of the bargain. I have never lied and cheated anyone. I will not risk my career, my freedom and my future for anything in the world! I would rather close this deal with other person than to know that you'll be very stressed hoping that I am a honest person, until you receive your car. Your peace of mind is a lot more important than this deal!!!
Look ,we must trust one another.
If you decide not to go through with it there is no problem. I got quite a few offers left. Please get back to me and let me know what you decide.Thank you for your time and interest. Whatever you decide I wish you good luck.
    Thank you,

We kept emailing back & forth for about a week.
I definitely had my hopes up & it sucks that it was a scam.

Can this fall within the same category, the content looks alike.

Before I left South Africa I had prearranged the deal with eBay Motors so my presence in South Africa isn't necessary. The car is in their possession in South Africa, ready for delivery. You will have 10 days to test drive and inspect the car. So if you want to make this deal I need the following information:

    your full name and address
    shipping address(street,city,zip code)
    phone #

Then I will forward them to eBay Motors and I will proceed the order. eBay will contact you with all the details that you need to complete this deal and also to see that i am covered by them and that I am legit seller.

Here is how this deal will work:
    1. I will forward the details of our transaction to the eBay Buyer Protection .
    2. They will process the paperwork and will email you the Payment Invoice and the transaction details.
    3. You will have to submit the deposit(50% from the total amount so you can prove that you are a serious buyer), as instructed to one of the eBay agents.
    4. The payment will be verified and if everything is OK, eBay will deliver the vehicle to your address on my own cost. The vehicle will be shipped insured to your location with DAS ( Dependable Auto Shippers www.dasautoshippers.com ).
    5. After you receive it, you will have 10 days to inspect and test drive the vehicle (You will receive the car in 2 days).
    6. If you accept the vehicle by confirming to eBay, they will release me the money (if not you will receive the full refund of the amount sent before shipping). They will then FedEx overnight the signed title to you and all the car documents that you need to register it under your name. If you decide to NOT accept the vehicle for any reason, they will refund your full payment price within 48 hours. They will then make the necessary arrangement to have the vehicle picked back up by the transport company.

This sounded WAY too good to be true, so I did a Google search for Craigslist scams and found out this scam has been going on for some years now.  I've lived long enough to realize when something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.  Needless to say, I did not consider sending any money to this scammer.

Was the jeep a Red CJ with crome double tube bumpers and doors open. asking $1450.00 on craigslist in NWkansas? I smelled a scam to begin with. Got an email from this person asking for my email. I ask for more pictures, I don't expect to get a reply.  The jeep in the picture doesn't even match the discription really if you look closely at the gear shift in the photo and where a head unit would be.

So initially i see an ad on Craig's List for a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee for $2,100 with a single picture and very brief description. My first thought was there was a typo in the price as it was a brand new ad. So I emailed the seller asking if this was the case and for more information about the vehicle. The next day i received this reply:

Hi, thank you for your interest in purchasing my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4X4 Limited HEMI with 71,072 Miles. The car is in great shape, no problems, damages or hidden defects and never been involved in accidents, Clean Title. This beautiful & nicely equipped Grand Cherokee is loaded with luxury, comfort, convenience, performance and safety features such as: 5.7L HEMI Engine, Automatic Transmission, Transmission Overdrive Switch, Locking Rear Differential, Heated Seats, Sun/Moon Roof, Navigation System, AM/FM/CD/MP3 10-Speaker Audio System, full power accessories, four-wheel antilock disc brakes, stability control, 4WD, traction Control, side airbags for front occupants and much more.

I bought it when i was serving in RAFB Louisville,KY but i was promoted and transferred to RAF Elmendorf in Anchorage Alaska for a 3 years period, so I do not want to let it ruin until i return, therefore I need a fast and reliable buyer. The car is already at our Military Logistic Department from RAFB Louisville, U.S. Army, crated and ready to go. The shipping will be free for you because I will transport it using the internal logistic department! The Logistic Department will deliver the car to the nearest Us army base from your area and from there I will use a tow-truck to have it delivered at your door. The whole shipping process will take 3-4 days (with insurance and 7 days return policy).

The final price is $2.100 which include delivery at your home address. The sale will be managed only through eBay since they offer the highest rate of safety and reliability during online transactions. I have no experience in such things but I've been strongly advised to use ebay's services so I can be 100% protected, I know you would have done it the same.
If you decide to buy this car email me your: Full Name and Shipping address; so I can inform eBay Motors Buyer Protection services that I have a buyer! I will forward your details to them and then you will receive an invoice (with no further obligations or fees) and you will be able to talk with them directly and ask anything you want to know.

Here is a photo album of the car:

(If the above link does not work copy and paste it into a new web browser window.)

    Thank you,
    Lt. Adam Rudd

At this I began laughing as the price was still $2,100 for a vehicle Kelly Blue Booked at near $9,000
and the email was an obvious prepared B.S. scam created probably from some 3rd world scumbag using a legit Soldier's name. In researching how far spread this scam is , I found this site.I replied once more asking if he would take $2,099 for the Jeep..no response yet.

    Here's another version:
Right now I'm in a military base. We are training, getting ready for Afghanistan. I am only allowed to check my email twice a day.We have to stick to e-mail for now.Hope you can understand.Like I already said, the delivery process will be managed by me. I think I can have it there at your home address within 2-3 working days. It will come with a clear title and reg. I am a member of the eBay buyer protection program and using this service you will get a 7 days testing period after delivery. During that 7 days testing period I will not be getting any money. I need to know if you are interested so I can ask eBay to send you the details on this deal. If interested please include in your next email your contact info for eBay (full name, shipping address and phone number), so we can get the ball rolling.
