Great information but  get off your high horse before you fall.

Called once, I answer - no one responds and they hang up.  Blocked them immediately.

Everytime I answer there is nobody there.  They call at least 4 times a day - sometimes more.

I mixed up my 2 credit cards payment dates. the second of the month for this Starting on the 5th I started to recieve calls from THREE different #s one said they were citibank and there was a problem with my account. The rest were hang ups!! If you got that would you think it would be being 3 days late???  Or would you think it was a real problem??? Got a call at 8:30 this morning and no message left. I called the 18006698488 from the back of the card. made them give me someone from the US. they told me I was late with the payment, I asked If I have ever been late before, answer no, has there been any suspect charges, answer no. the only charge was the one I did to get a 12 mo no interest. The man said they just want to keep their customers informed!! AT 8:30 on Sunday morning. Someone who works late on Sat night??  I'm going to use their money for the 12 months then drop the card like a rock!!!!

I always check this site to check on who could be behind these calls. I never answer the phone so thanks for your help. I just go click click and then go on with what I was doing.

Most of the folks who are harassed by scammers are Senior Citizens. They may not understand who calls legitimately or who doesn't.  It's terribly annoying for them to hear their landline ring constantly.  Please show a little compassion.  You'll be 90+ years-old some day.

It's a debt collector trying to get a payment on your Sears credit card.

15 calls in 5 days from this number at all hours of the day and night and never left a message. I don't recognize the number so I don't answer.

six calls in 3 hours   haven't had creditcard in 8 years ??

they call all the time. will not leave a message, and if i do answer at the time of the call, i can't understand what they are saying!!

Began calling Sunday and have called 6 times in 24 hours leave no message. I need to find out how to block them

as a 'headed to' ...o.k. i "think" that "i am old!" i do thank you for that information: i personally do not answer any number that i do not recognize: but i have wondered the exact "why doesn't the don't-call-me work for everything?"  if you can 'edit' your reply to remove the "Apparently....." -- it'd be a "nice" response. imo. i do try to understand: i do google: trying to get through the pages of information can be a challenge; i am not an 'old fogey' yet but with opening my eyes each day, i aim to get to old-fogey status. young whipper-snappers telling me 'what is that!?!' honestly helps. thank you, Slim!

Finally blocked the number.  There is no one there if I answer, and no one answers if I return the call.  Don't have time for this foolishness!

Sears Credit Card

I received 16 calls from these people in the last 4 days looking for my mother (who doesn't live here). I just called back and found that it is supposedly Citibank.

This number has called me a dozen times in the last few days. This is the text voicemail I'm receiving. By the way - I do NOT have a Citi card or a Sears card - or a Seers card.

For a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.

I have begun receiving these calls for several days approximately 6 times a day. They never leave a message, and I answer the call for the 1st time this morning and it simply hung up. Seems like a scam... I'm just hoping answering doesnt cause me any undue charges.

Can also be for Walmart Credit Card.  They use Citi Bank
