- MichelleWent, not a scam. Didn't buy anything, though! I like the stainless steel pots and they seemed to work well from the demonstation. Got my trip voucher and coupon card. Other couples were purchasing the sets, but not me. I'm a new bride and my friends and family can get them for me. Those poor young brides were signing away $1500 for a set of pots. Umm... isn't that what registering is for??? Anyway, yeah, not a scam.
- Fiancee replies to ShawnaDon't do any of these scams. They butter you up acting like their concerned about your wedding, when all they try to do is Scam you into buying pots and pans. The trips they claim there going to give you for free aren't free and if you go to an actual cruise line the prices are cheaper than what CookWorld says they are. The seminar was 2 hours long!!! Complete waste of time!!!! Remember the saying "If something seems to good to be true, it probably is!!!!!!!!!" Ignore these calls
- unhappy customer| 1 replyTHIS COMPANY IS TOTALLY DISHONEST, THEIR PRODUCTS COSTS THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS, AND THE SALES PEOPLE AT THE PRESENTATIONS BECAME VERY THREATENING WHEN WE WHEN I ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PRIZES. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GO !!!!!!
I recieved the call from Jeanetta at Cookworld stating I "won" 3 different prizes...1) 3 day/2 night trip to my choice of 20 different locations- including Honululu, St. Martins, Las Vegas, etc. . .2) $1000 in groceries, 3) 20 -40% off merchandise . I asked several times if purchase was necessary, Jeanetta reassured me no, and I was told to go to a local hotel to pick up the items and hear a presentation.
Against our better judgement, my fiance and I went to the presentation. I understand they expect you to buy their products. I was willing to spend a little, but THEIR PRODUCT LINES WERE AS HIGH AS 10,0000!!!! THE CHEAPEST WAS $1700. ARE THEY CRAZY- WHO CAN AFFORD THIS FOR POTS AND PANS IN TODAY'S ECONOMY? The cookware was nice , but definetly not worth that. IT WAS HINTED THAT WE HAD TO BUY THE PRODUCTS TO GET THER PRIZES.
For the trip, it turns out their are only 3 locations- not the 20 the said on the phone the day earlier. And of course, your airfare is not included. The $1000 in groceries- is actually something you have to send in for to get coupons on various products .
When we started to ask questions about the cost of the products and the promotions, "TOMMY" the sales rep went from supernice to a super [***], He was screaming at us, and talking down to us. Implying we must be stupid not to buy this product, because he had letters from "people with Master's degrees , Doctor's, sports trainer's, etc" Then he actually showed us laminated letters from people, how pathetic! He also said " I'm not a travel agent" when we asked more about the trip. When I ask about the groceries, at first he pretended like he did not know what we were talking about. He then referred us to his wife who was working with him, I did not catch her name, but when I told her that we were told on the phone that we did not have to buy, she very rudely stated, " Go take an adverstising class" and we were kicked out for politely asking questions.
This company will go out of business if it keeps this up, because people put up with such lying [***].- Caller: COOKWORLD
- WOW replies to George| 2 repliesI went to this presentation last night...
I must say it was quite enjoyable.
We got our prizes as promised on the phone. Yes you have to pay a $100 REFUNDABLE deposit when booking our 3day/2night hotel stay. This is just to reserve the room so they know that someone is actually coming and they're not blocking out a room for no reason. This is just from the hotel's standpoint. It makes sense.
Yes I am very excited I'm getting $1000 worth of coupons. Not complaining that its not a $1000 gift card.
And there is no obligation to buy anything when you get there to get the prizes they said over the phone.
No the hotel stay is a completely free trip. They said on the phone that I won a free hotel stay, not a free trip. Yes you have to pay airfare. We are just using this voucher to extend our honeymoon.
We did purchase the cheapest set of cookware..which then locks you in as a customer and you get the cheapest possible prices on anything else they over for the rest of your life.
And purchasing anything also gives you a free 5 day Carnival cruise, also not including airfare. But heck, we'll take it!
They did demonstrations with the cookware, and I have to say, it is really good quality and I love it.
We were sitting with other couples outside the conference room waiting to go in, and we were all talking about how we were just going to say no to anything they were selling. Well we didn't realize that it was actually a good product they were selling, practically all the couples bought something.
Let me assure you that I do not work for this company. I know when I search for things to see if they are scams or not, and I see a post like this, I just think they work for the company. But I don't. Keep searching for this company.. All I see is a bunch of people complaining about a phone call they got. I haven't found one complaint that someones credit was ruined by this company or that they lost money or anything. So all of you skeptics that didn't go to this presentation, you missed out. - WOW replies to WOWThis is "WOW" again..
In the second little paragraph I wrote, I meant to say No the hotel stay is NOT a free trip.
Sorry, I should have read it over BEFORE I submitted :) haha
There are probably other mistakes too. I think you get the gist of what I meant though :) - Melissa replies to CarlyNo scam. We went last night to the presentation and purchased a set. There wasno obligation to purchase them. Even if you don't decide to purchase the set, you still get the3 day 2 night hotel accommodation, 1000 coupon toward groceries and 40% off product if you decide to purchase. The set is pricey, but if it lasts as long as they say it will it is worth it.
- Miguelito replies to THE TRUTHThanks for the heads up! You saved my fiance and I a trip to the presentation, which is in an hour and a half. Decided against it when I read how much of a scam it was! Thanks!
- Very SATISFIED customer replies to unhappy customerOh you're full of it! My fiance and I went, and we were very impressed by the gentleman giving the presentation. I am a big skeptic, so I actually brought a notebook with a list of questions to ask about the products, the prizes, what was covered, what wasn't, the prices, including the % off, and the warranties, plus several other things. EVERY question I asked was answered, and very politely, and in a friendly way! I even mentioned that I had "won" another cruise, and the gentleman said, "was it a timeshare thing?" When I told him yes, he grimaced and said, "They're going to make you go to an EXTREMELY high pressure tour and push you to buy or contribute to a time share. We absolutely do not do that! In fact we hate that!"
There was zero pressure involved in the sales pitch/presentation. A young lady sat down with the man afterward and told him right up front she was not interested in purchasing anything, and he said alright and immediately got her the paperwork for the other promotions he was doing (the coupons and the 3 day/2 night stay somewhere) and told her congratulations and have a great night. When he was done talking to her he walked up to us (we were the last couple there, and were still looking at the displayed stuff), and he just talked to us like a normal, friendly person--not like the kind of person you described. I mentioned that i love to cook, but that the prices were just waaaaay more than we could do right now.
So, he actually gave us a financing option where we can pay $40 a month, and they would go ahead and send the pots right away, so that's what we did. The guy even said they would get the poots to us before the first payment was even due. "Believe me," he said, "we have more faith in you than you do in us." Tells me a lot about those of you who've been posting negative crap without ever even going.
The pots arrived shortly after and I LOVE them! I use them every single day without fail, and they are wonderful! You have to learn what temp on your range works best though because the heat induction stuff they were talking about makes the food cook way faster at higher temps and you can burn stuff at first... Yes I did it... LOL!
Anyway, the guy was great and the product is great and I'm looking forward to the trip and the cruise my fiance and I will be taking for our honeymoon!
You guys were probably being very snotty to the guy-- Those are usually the people that say they were being mistreated, I know, I've worked in fast food businesses for years. Quit bitching!!! - word replies to starI hear you, good for us did the same thing yesterday1
- BabyBrownsI just got a call. They actually told me that since my fiancee couldn't come to the current presentation, that I would have to call them back in a few weeks to find out when the next presentation was.
2 nights in a hotel isn't the most amazing deal in the world, especially when you don't get to pick your hotel, IMHO. And I can guarantee the $1000 in coupons are probably useless to most people. No, I don't shop at Wal-Mart.
But, I would like to say that after looking at their site, I realized that I already own the same type of pots and pans. I got it two years ago on a recommendation from my nutritionist. You can buy the whole set for $200 if you know the brand name, they retail to nutritionists for $500, but it appears they charge way more at the presentation. I like the pots and pans fine, and use the waterless cooking function when applicable. The only downside is the plastic knobs expand and I could see them not lasting more than a decade. I'm of the opinion that pots and pans are something you keep for a while.
Can't tell you if it is or isn't a scam, but if you're really interested in waterless cookware, it can be had for less.- Caller: Chef World Inc
- dmh1324Actually, this is not a scam.
I got this message and was very scepticle, but my fiance and i decided to check it out. We went to their cookshow, and did have to sit through it for about 2 hours. The guy was very convincing but we werent forced to buy anything. At the end of it, we got up and claimed our prizes. Completely legitimate. However, if you dont want to buy anything, go into it knowing that because they are very convincing. But claim the prize, its definately worth it.- Caller: Cookworld
- NO NAME replies to Looking out for youIf you read the card u only pay a 100 not 1000 maybe u need glasses as far as the food card they do give u that and charge 4.95 shipping Whats wrong with that........Any hotel will charge u to hold a reservation are u kidding me this company has a great product and stands behind it alllllllllll

- RJ513 replies to Kaseyi live in Cincinnati and i went to one of the shows two weeks ago. I recieved a call saying that I had won some prizes a 3day/2night trip a discount on the cookware they were advertising and up to $1000 worth of coupons on passporttovalue.com. The cupon thing you have to send the card back with 4.95 shipping and handle, and you get a free year of cupons online. They can be used at walmart target and grocery stores so they say. Me and fiance haven't done it yet but thats what the lady at the show told me. The trip has many different places to pick from and if you go out of state it also will give you complementary passports. The 100.00 is refundable it is to reserve your hotel accomidations to make sure yuou come just like any other hotel you would reserve a room at. The cookware was really nice and it is expensive but you get a lifetime warranty on all the pieces and once you set up an account with them you get anything you buy from them half off. They also have payment plans so you just pay monthly on your cookware not paying the whole thing up front. And the cruise they offer you if you purchase something is seperate from the gifts you already recieve for just going there. The tax port fees is $120.00 that is not refundable. The klady explained all of this to us. I enjoyed my time at the show, and my fiance and I plann\ to use the gifts the cookware and the cupons. that was my experience.
- Moun415| 1 replyIt is not a scam!!
- Mount415| 1 replyListen ALL YOU internet thugs! Let me make one thing clear: Chef World is not a scam and NO I am not a representative of the company. In short, I am a proud consumer of the Chef World's Merchandise and ALL their products are entirely optional!
I won (2) seperate vacation packages paid in full without the airflight fee, which is 100% ok with me.
To book a reservation, you will need to put down a payment of $100 to secure your date that you will be staying at the resorts/hotels. (That sounds logical to me)
For all you nay sayers, please refrain from wallowing in ingnorance and discouraging other prospective buyers from having an experience that can be life changing.- Caller: Chef World
- methinks you protest too much replies to Moun415How does it feel to have a job where you have to come on this site and claim it's not a SCAM??? Must feel like you're not qualified for honest work.
Funny, most of us know what you're saying really translates to ...
It IS a SCAM!!
