Just got call 11/12/12 and answered. Told solicitor I was on don't call list , he said they were exempt. I tried to ask to be placed on their do not call list. He just kept talking louder and faster, would not let me speak, then said he was going to put me on their mailing list. As I shouted DO NOT PUT ME ON ANY MAILING LIST he just kept talking, you could hear the smirk in his voice. This call was pure harassment. I called shrine services to whom the number was listed. Was told that they are NOT exempt and I should not have been called, was very apologetic and said was going to take disciplinary action against the employee.  Yeah I bet. I'm going to contact Shriner s and complain.  Shriners hired them and I hold Shriners responsible.

Called 1-28-13.  CID "Shriner Services??  did not answer. By the way, I am right now in the process of checking 38 numbers that have called pestering my mother from 1-21-13 through 1-30-13!  Guess what, all so far have shown up with complaints on this site.

Got a call today, 2-1-13. left no msg. I never answer calls that I cannot identify on my caller ID anyway.

On April 11, 2013 at 5:45pm EST we got a call from 865-963-4897.  Let the machine pick it up, no message.  ID said Shriners.  We have NO relationship with the Shriners and are on the DO NOT CALL LIST!

Just another telemarketer making HUGE profits by collecting for charity.  What a joke.  These are FOR PROFIT companies that may give as little as 4% to the charity they collect for or, if they have a minimum clause in their contract, the charity may get nothing at all.  This is high profit begging at its dirtiest.  I do not support charities that allow this kind of marketing.  Charity is nothing more than big business these days.  Fortunately, I purchased and call interceptor a few years ago and now I just block any and all calls I don't want.  Love it.

Figured it was a sales call, and so picked it up and didn't say anything.  The lady who spoke on the other end was not loud enough for me to hear what she was wanting me for.  I did tell her to take me off her list, that I couldn't hear her.

I got the same call.  As a previous poster noted, it originates from Etsell, Inc. in Knoxville, TN.  It is a FOR PROFIT marketing group supporting Shrine Services.  But as a FOR PROFIT company, they are not allowed to be considered under the charity-exemption on the DO Not Call legislation.

Etsell makes the mistake of showing the names and photos of their Senior Managers (and their spouses) and where they live.  The man who manages the Call Center is named Garner Fritts (the Etsell website reports that he resides in Knoxville, TN).

A simple lookup of his name shows his home number - 865-693-8603.  Anyone wishing to be taken off their list might consider contacting him directly.

This Phone number 865-963-4897 showed up on my caller ID as Shine Services and they do not leave a message, when I do not answer. They call every couple of days.

Caller ID states "shrine services". I looked at their website where they clearly state "Proceeds from this activity are for the benefit of the Shriners. Payments are not deductible as charitable contributions. Shrine Services, a professional solicitor, will receive as costs, expenses and fees a portion of the funds received as a result of this solicitation campaign." We make regular donations to Scotish Rite here in Dallas. Don't throw money away on this professional solicitor. Give they funds directly to the charity of your choice.

Typical telemarketer crap. They are a fund raiser and donations are NOT TAX DEDUCTABLE. Shriners get pennies on the dollar for donations.

Twice today I have had phone calls where, when I answer my phone, they hang up.  I own a business so I called back in both instances to see if it was a customer trying to reach me on my cell phone.  I got a recording in both instances saying "we called you..(basically to ask you for money), if you'd like to help, please call back".  One call was from the Fraternal Order of Police and the next one was from the Shriners Circus. Are they hanging up to get around the Do Not Call laws?  It is so frustrating!  I get these kinds of calls almost daily.

Just reported them to donotcall.gov.  Been on this list for much more than 31 days.  My understanding they ARE FOR PROFIT and should not call if you are on this list.  REPORT THEM if you are on the do not call list.  You tell them to take you off the list, but get ignored.  Report them each time they call.  Build a record that can be used against them.  Good way to get off their list.

These folks may promote themselves as a charity, but they are NOT.  Caller ID may say "Shrine Services" (or some derivation), but is really a company called Etsell, Inc. (based in Knoxville, TN), which is a separate telemarketing company set up by the Shriners, and is a for-profit organization.  As a for-profit, Etsell CANNOT be exempt from the DNC list as they are, strictly speaking, not a charity.
