This scam, sham, company is just like the restof them in Florida. Trying to make it as bad as possible sounding with fake mailings and the like. Demanded to know my name, and where I was calling from. If they wouldbe upfront and HONEST about who and what they are, maybe they would not have a bunch of upset people on here. Just like the AC companies who send out scam salesmen doing a "clean and tune" as well. Beware of these types of people. And if you want your water tested, call your water company or the county people. They will come out and check. But these clowns are out to test your bank account.  Victory First Water my butt! Next phone cal is to the national head quarters of the real VFW, let them put a fire under their butt.

I too received the green post card in the mail.  I'm so stupid, as I called them, and scheduled an appointment.  I called their number again, to cancel the appointment, but their mailbox was full.  I will be home when they come, but I will not let them come in.  I will tell them that I have already called the police department for their advice, and if they harass me, I will make a formal complaint the the police.

I received this alert, called the # got an answer,he asked me if I'm replying to the pink card flyer, asker my name and address and my water situation and that he can send someone out to just test my water immediately and then asked how old I was and he will have water guy call me within a few minutes, which within that time period got second thoughts. Got a call and did not answer it was a local call, got a second call, it had an unfamiliar area code, didn't answer, they called again with another different # two more times until I answered and told them I changed my mind and I got my own water tester and then he back off and hung up and blocked all #'s. I'll install my own water purifier

I received the bright pink card last week - same as everyone else - "Water Alert' - call within 48 hours - V.F.W. 1 866-204-0720.
I'd like to know how they got my name and address. Who is supplying this data to them?
  • +1
They may be just going down the lists of property owners in the area.  You can    generally get property owner information form the country clerk's office or county assessors office.  You can buy the information from data vendors too.  If you own a piece of real estate the ownership information is usually public.

Area code 866 is a toll free number. You cannot block your caller ID when you phone them. Toll free numbers pay for the call so you cannot block it from them. The water inspection scam has been going on for a while. They'll come, tell you your waters no good, try to sell you expensive stuff. They survey sales lists of houses & pop one in the mail box. Happens a lot in Florida.

I must say it's definitely not a scam at all. I'm glad I received that card. They are very professional when they came to my home and it was very educational. I bought a water system from them and it was the best investment I have ever made for my family and my health. They were at not all pushy or overpriced. When you buy those cheap ones from home depot or Lowe's it does not clean all those impurities out of the water and there's price on ur health. I'm am very HAPPY with victory first water!

I received a "Hot Pink" postcard today, postmarked St. Petersburg, FL.  Also, BIG letters at the top - WATER ALERT!  It was addressed not only to me, but to my co-owner of our home.  (Two
different last names.  We bought our home a little over a year ago.)  Same message on reverse side of postcard.  When looking at V.F.W., I first thought of The Veterans of Foreign Wars!  I was wondering what "they" had to do with a "water alert!"  Made no sense at all to me, so I checked the phone number on this site.  Thank you ALL for your previous comments about this water scam company.  Both of us, as owners, are senior citizens.  This is absolutely disgusting what these crooks are pulling on a lot of people!!  They should all be in jail!!

05/31/16 Rcvd a pink card in the mail with big bold letters "WATER ALERT." we called 1-866-204-0720 because we thought there was a problem with our order since we just had our water turned on. A very pushy individual insisted having our water tested. We declined because it sounded like a scam to us.
