You are right! This IS a scam. Your phone number is called from a computer, the response you make will either disconnect the call or forward you to an answering communications company, in this case, "Warranty Help Desk" in ANAHEIM, CA 92806. IF....a person on the other end is cooperative enough, you can get your number removed, TEMPORARILY, from the system. You can also inform them of the ILLEGAL nature of the call. I have found that the origination of the call MAY come from KAREN JONES of 4726 HEATHSTEAD DR, DUBLIN, OHIO 43016. There are also at least 4 other names registered to that address, which happens to be a single family home. KYOKO JONES, FRAZIER ANDERSON, CHRISTIE FLACK and SARAVANAN JAYAKUMAR. In a reverse look-up, I also found that KAREN JONES has 88 e-mail accounts, which is suspicious considering tha these calls are generated via computer. I have called back numbers listed with these names and NOW some are disconnected, have no answering machine, are constantly busy or "are being checked" by the phone company. IOn the last 3 weeks, after I filed a report with the FCC, KAREN JONES no longer shows up on that address look-up. Interesting, yes? This scam is far reaching and the origination company, which continues to be annonymous, is contracting "call centers" to recieve your calls should you choose option #1. Contact the FCC if you reciee or have recieved ANY calls about extending a warranty. You can file a compaint on-line or call 1-888-225-5322.

We just got this call.  Didn't pick up since I didn't know it, but checked the number from my call history.  I sure hope they don't call again... when we had a home phone, we were getting the car warranty call every single day!

These three numbers have been calling me everyday for weeks. When I look each one up on 800notes they all have the same theme - EXPIRED CAR WARRANTY. 866-209-7845, this number seems to call more people as there are 10 pages on this website complaining about it. I never answer, hoping that they just go away. I'm putting my number on the do not call list and yes they are calling my cell phone (AT&T). I figure I would put all of the numbers in one spot since they all seem related.
