- williamsthese people call everyday at the same time won't tell me who they are or what they want- we are on the no call list
- JRI do not answer these repeated calls. If I find out the source, I shall drop the company if I am in any way involved with them. I am on a do not call list and should not be receiving these or any other such calls.
- JT replies to KeithI called the number itself - 866-228-8944. Someone answered on the first ring. I simply said that their number was appearing on my caller ID, that I am on the National Do Not Call Registry, and to please remove my name from their call list. The man said they were calling on behalf of Bank of America, asked for my number, and said I would be added to their do not call list and that it may take up to 30 days to take affect. He also apologized in advance if I continued to receive phone calls during the 30 days and said to call them back if I had further issues. Pretty simple.

- carol goodladthis number has called us about 5 times now. We never pick up the phone when a call is from a number we don't know, and they never leave a message
- ClaireNo messages left. Usually one call a day at various times of day for the past week.
- Mike C.No messages left. One call a day at random times. I've answered and several of the calls and have been hung up on every time.
Called the offending number and actually reached someone. I asked to be removed from their list and they said they would pass it along to B of A.
I'll wait and see.
Is there any sort of law suit going on against these people?- Caller: Synergy

- ForI'm getting calls about once a day. I haven't picked up the receiver. After reading some of the above, I called B of A. A person claimed no knowledge or affiliation with Synergy. I called another number from above and got Privacy Assist which claims to know nothing about the calls.

- Peter replies to PeterAfter 4 more calls from this number on 5/23, 5/24 and 5/30 (2 calls), someone finally spoke to me (I pretended to be my son, whom they always ask for). They are indeed calling on behalf of Bank of America's Privacy Assist program (www.bankofamerica.com/privacyassist), trying to sell credit protection at $12.99/month to be charged to my son's BOA credit card, after a 30-day evaluation period (i.e., if you don't cancel, you get charged). (Interestingly, protection can be obtained through BOA for less than that - see www.bankofamerica.com/associatebanking/index. ... st&state=DE#top.) When I feigned interest in the program, the woman (who was perfectly polite) gave me a number to call after I had given the matter some thought: 866-433-3481. Another number listed on the website is 866-433-3487. I called the first of these numbers and spoke to a perfectly polite man, explained the situation, and asked that our number be removed from their list, which he said might take 30 days. I gave him the link to this website and said that it might be in BOA's interest to know how people are reacting to these calls. He said he would pass the information on to his supervisor as soon as we hung up.

Synergy Solutions handles the inbound calls for this caller ID # and several others. There are other vendors other than Synergy Solutions that pass on this caller ID # for the same type of call, but when you call this # back you are always going to get Synergy Solutions because they have been hired by Bank of America to handle the inbound calls for this number. Also the reason these calls are being made to Bank of America by Synergy and other vendors when people are on the National Do Not Call list is because of something called an established business relationship which allows companies that you have and exsiting business relationship to call you even if you are on the National Do Not Call list. Companies like Synergy and other vendors that call on behalf of Bank Of America are doing so because Bank Of America has asked them to. If you are upset with anyone it should be your Bank not the people calling on behalf of your bank, but if you call this number and asked to be placed on the Do Not Call list it's the easiest way to get these calls to stop.

Now that I work nights, I am home during the day and this number has called my home 3 times per day in the past 2 days! I just don't answer it, and I am very annoyed.
This has got to stop! - Mike R replies to karenIf you don't answer and never call to ask them to stop they never will. Answer the phone and simply ask to be placed on the Do Not Call list. Keep track of the person you spoke with and when you asked to you can reference it in the future. Remember that these people are getting paid to sell a service, and it's a waste of their time too to talk to someone who doesn't have any interest in the service. Trust me when I say you are doing everyone a favor by simply saying "please put me on your Do Not Call list"

- ScottI get these calls every day too. Complaints to the BBB about a bank will be largely ineffective. Try contacting the OCC (the recognized authority over national banks):

- Dr. AI am both a BoA customer and investor. Because I have gotten these calls and because this is a pattern of disturbing behavior on the part of BoA, I am reconsidering my relationship with them.
