My Tracfone received two calls in the past week from this number.  I did not answer, and I don't have voicemail turned on.  I'm going to add the "Do Not Answer" note to this number.  My Tracfone number is on the national Do Not Call Registry.  Perhaps I need to renew that.  The only other unknown calls I get are honest wrong numbers, usually from drunk people trying to call their buddies late at night.

Got a call from this number, the lady seemed very rushed and annoyed.  She gave me the run down of renew my contract 100 free minutes blah blah blah.  When I begin to ask questions, she gets more annoyed, but still answers them.  When I finally agree to sign up, she asks to record the agreement and I say ok.  As she spells my name, she spells it wrong.  When I correct her, she hangs up on me.  I call back and it sounds like the same lady only it sounds like she's walking (weird because she should be at a desk in an office).  Once again, she asks the same questions as before only I ask her more detailed questions like "do you work for verizon" and "how is this renewal different than the one I just did in the store when I got my new every two?"  She hung up on me as well.  The whole thing seems real shady.  I would advise anyone not to give them any information.  Better safe than sorry!!!

So I got this call for the umpteenth time and decided to call these people back. The lady said she was calling on "behalf" of Verizon for some sub-contracted company blah blah she was mumbling. I told her she was breaking the law, and that I was going to report her. Meanwhile, she kept asking me for my phone number so that she could take me off the call list-- which I did not give to her because i told her i didnt trust her. i told her i would report her and then i hung up. verizon, since they dont offer call-blocking, was useless, but they did refer me to the donotcall registry, which i immediately signed up for. finally, i reported the entire fiasco on FCC.gov's website.

Called several times, no message. Will NOT answer so hope they read this site! LOL

This number shows up on my caller ID at least once a week. I never answer the calls.

THEY KEEP CALLING!!!!! They are saying they are doing away with our plan and we need to upgrade it?! The person I talked to was Mark Owens. I had previously spoken to TWO OTHER PEOPLE (one was Angie, can't remember the other guy) in the past week and NEITHER ONE SAID WHAT OWENS SAID! I think it's a scam, it's gotta be.

The women called and said my name wrong.  She went straight to renew my service plan and recommend a package without asking me whether I'm interested in continue to use Verizon or listening to them at all.  Thanks for all of you who posted these message.

This number 866-259-3883 calls my cell phone repeatedly.  I took the advice of another poster and added the number as Do Not Answer to my contacts.  Good idea!  I called it back before I found these posts and it was the same  as the others have experienced - the Verizon Wireless contractors trying to sell me things I do not need at all. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

How does it know to add the extra s in "Answser"?

I got these calls before I renewed around 22 months ago; I finally answered one and spoke with a rude and uninformed man who seemed rather put out that I didn't want to deal with his questions over the phone. I ended up renewing at the store, and the calls ceased. Fast-forward to this month: within days of becoming eligible to replace my phone with new every two, they've started up again. So far, two calls in three days, no message. Thanks for this site and its reminder.

Claimed to be Verizon and asked for the primary account holder by name.  I asked to take a message and they said they'd call back and then hung up on me.

Just got a call. Didn't answer.

Just called - said hello and no answer right away so hung up. I'm glad now that I read other posts.

You can file a complaint at this site after your phone number has been on the registry for 31 days.

This is the second time I received a 866 call that I did not answer, the other 866 number also had a similar blog.  This must be fraud and there must be a way to report to Verizon that this is happening to people

This number called my cell phone.  I answered and nobody responded after 6+ seconds.
