Got calls from that number saying my Apple ID changed ?! Called back and just got an automatic message asking to enter a 5 code digits .... the answer from my phone company is I'd have to pay $6 to block certain numbers to call us. Great.

There were 2 Apple ID Verification Codes texted first, then a call from  866-275-3866. I did not answer then a voicemail left saying "Thank you, Good bye". Weird !

Ok I got a call and I answer it it told me to enter a code so I did thinking it was apple and they needed the verification code and all I got in response was heavy breathing

,Had an update from Apple and then was told there was now a 2 step process for verification so put in phone #--shortly after a call from the said # with a 6 digit code.  I was suspicious so came to this site to check the # first   SCAM

Have you notified Apple about this, or gone to the Apple Support website to see what Apple knows about this particular phone number?

Recieving calls from 866-275-3866 from past couple days, answered once bt no one was there , robotics call, today I received a text msg with apple identification code and followed by call from "scam likely" didn't answer they called again. It is a scam beware of it.

Someone is trying to setup login with your applied. You need to contact apple this is set up so when someone tries to use your login the two step verification only goes to the apple phone that if is connected to. If you didn't request it someone is trying to use it

Interesting. I took my phone off of wifi at a local pub but when I attempted to turn it back on it was locked and asking for my e-mail & apple password & it was back on the pubs open wifi. Once I was out of the range of the wifi it unlocked and I had three separate text messages with Apple ID Verification codes AND a phone call from the above number. So you're saying someone tried to access my phone?

We use Apple products in our QA department.  This number called us with a verification code for one of the iPADs we are testing.  The call was legit for us.  Caller ID was "TOLL FREE CALL". If the QA department didn't tell me Apple would be calling with a verification code, I wouldn't have answered the phone (based on the majority of comments on here and the fact it was an 866 number).

The codes were supposed to go to me but didn't get to me.  Don't know why.

This number called my work landline number around 1:45am today, and left a 1 second message that sounded kind of like someone saying "hello?".  Probably a scam.  I see a lot of "it's a legit Apple call" messages, but Apple has no reason to call me in the middle of the night at my work number.  Probably somebody spoofing Apple's number to con people.

Well i had a phone call  from "them"  866 275 3866 at 5.20 am !!!  I not answered - then a message  verify  my apple code arrived -'  just ignore - they must be bored  at that time  5am !
