Validating that a number is legitimate doesn't reassure call recipients the caller is who they claim to be, since scammers constantly spoof  numbers in an attempt to gain access to your account info.
Never trust the caller will be who they say they are, always call from an official number to verify they called you.

Got called back from this number never answered I was before talking to apple but call wasn’t right something was strange so hung up had a call back ASAP which don’t normally happenen again and again strange

Apple Number used for two factor authorization, was surprised by phone call usually received text messages. Added number to my contact list.

Apple does say it will either "text" or "call" the number to send a verification. Since there are 6 pages about this number and you know who/why you got a call, what made you think posting a report about it is going to be a reassurance to others who get a call unexpectedly it won't be a scammer calling?

Scammers spoof these numbers to attempt phishing for personal account info and you never know who is calling...unless your expecting a verification call, then why would anyone want to look up the number?

this # shows up often on my CID landline-I do not answer numbers I do not know-no message left.
If it is indeed Apple, I will call them myself.

Apple should be called (not 866-275-3866) directly and this number should be reported-definitely a phishing scam

Didn't get a phone call but got a pushed voicemail from the number.  Message was "5" with a time of 1 second.  Feel like it is a scam, time on message showed 7:16PM but I received the notice at 1:00am.
