I've had it! I keep on getting apple id verification numbers and calls. i think its a hacker

My phone rang with this number around 7:11 i never answered it somehow answered itself. This is NOT a verified number, I went to the Apple store as my phone would not Power on for over 6 hours after this. I didn’t see the call until after, while at lunch. I then went back to Apple and they went through several routines to secure my account.

I also called the number back and it said “this is an attempt to verify your Apple ID” then hangs up. I also received another call and it left a voicemail and all it says is “goodbye”.
Report report report. They got IN my phone.

Why on Earth did you call them back?! Did you want them to get into your phone again?!

My mom just recently got a new iphone and we traded in our old XRs to Gamestop. Ever since shes been getting text messages with codes. Well this morning she got a phone call with a robo voice saying something about Apple and a code. At 1am, and immediatly afterwards she received a text with the code BS again. So i came on here and looked the phone number up and figured it was a scam- and then i realized after reading..... Her new phone number wasnt listed under "trusted phone numbers" until I JUST added it not even 20 minutes ago. so no way they would be calling on her brand new number.

This number has been calling repeatedly today.  Have blocked the number however continues to leave a 5 - 10 second voice mail filling up the inbox.  Claiming to be from Apple.  It's a pre-recorded message.  Not sure why Apple would all of a sudden contact this number as we have never used Apple products and this is an Android cell.

If anyone protects this number. Obviously they are the hacker, or associated with criminal activity.

This number called my home phone at 1:30 am. I have never owned an Apple product, so obviously it's not from Apple. I just want their address so I can slap the crap out of somebody for calling in the middle of the night.

Got a unsolicited message in Swedish about a "verification code to my apple-id" from "Apple", unclear from what sender. A minute later I received a likewise unsolicited phone call from this toll free number. Obvious scam attempt. It would make no sense for Apple to call *from* a toll free number and any reports that these are proper calls are likely false.

Called. I did not answer. They did not leave message.

Called again  Did not leave message

This is a good number. I forgot my apple cell phone password and they called me with a pass code to use to reset my password!

I got a call this morning from this number plus a short 1 second voicemail before they hung up. I also got an Apple verification code i DID NOT ask for. Prior to this some of my accounts on insta had gotten hacked which i took down. Please do not give this number any info, CALL Apple directly and ask them about these calls and things happening.

It is Apple calling with a verification code.  I got 2 texts at the exact same time with verification codes but I didn't request them so I think someone was trying to hack my account. The number is legit but if you didn't request the codes then someone is trying to hack your account.  Don't enter any codes when you get the call.

I fail to see how an outbound call giving you information (the verification code) can request or try to take information from you.

It seems more likely that someone hacked your devices and was trying to set it up again, and Apple used the number it had on file to call you.  OTOH, there is a well-known exploit in the cellular system to duplicate information sent to a cell phone...to another phone. Perhaps this is what happened.  Hope you resolved it satisfactorily.
