kept getting these calls, day after day, even answered a couple of times -when i answered, no one said anything.  i googled the number and found this site.  called customer center - nice young girl - very polite, she removed me from not only the do not call list but they will also stop sending me offers in the mail and will no longer send those checks they send for your account (which by the way you should shred, highly susceptible to being stolen).  hopefully it will really stop.

I get calls from this number at least twice a day.  After looking here I learned it was Discover, which I have.  After reading a previous post I called 800-225-5202 which is the Discover Privacy Line and opted out of all company and third party solicitations.  It's all automated so you don't have to talk to anyone who will try to sell you anything. I'm sure it will take a few days but hopefully the calls will stop.

We receive about a dozen calls everyday for about 2 weeks now from this number. They leave no message and when answered it disconnects.

I'm on the DO-NOT-CALL registry, but I do business with Discover. Since I'm not the main person on the card, they ask for my husband when he's at work & aren't interested in speaking with me. I told them he works 15 hour days & can't be reached during the week. I said to schedule calls for the weekend 4 times on separate occasions. They keep calling-now it's two times a day. It's been going on like this, with the calls getting more frequent. I asked them again yesterday to check the notes in the computer-they can see I requested they call on the weekends. Another call this morning. I didn't answer. I called the # on the back of my card 1-800-DISCOVER (347-2683)& requested that our phone be on the Do-Not-Solicit-List. They will get it done or lose customers & they actually do care at the customer service call center.

If I get another call, I have the option of filing a complain with the Do-Not-Call Registry & them receiving a fine for up to $11,000.00.

calls my home phone 2 or 3 times a day for past month at least...I never answer.
Stop!!

We were called 4 or 5 times a day. The more we hung up or didn't answer the more they called.  I installed an old TeleZapper made by Privacy Technologies.  The first call I got just after 9 AM the next day, I let the TeleZapper beep them....so far so good, no more calls today.

Just call 1-800-225-5202 to opt out from these calls from Discover & other 3rd party affiliate offers. This call updates your privacy setting.

I have been reporting these calls to the DO NOT CALL LIST. A total waste of time since my girlfriend has a Discover Card.

Do not call only works for calls where you DO NOT want to buy what the people are offering.

I piss them off because when they miss pronounce my name I tell them when you can learn to correctly say my name I will talk to you.  Thye appologize and hang up.  My boy thought it was funny and could not stop laughing...

I am disabled and i have trouble sometimes getting to the phone yet these people call me up to 6 times a day. my gosh PLEASE MAKE THEM STOP

You have to have something called the "Touch Star" Service to use this feature.

Caller calls several times a day at all hours.  When I tell them my husband is not available there is no message.  I'm just not picking up anymore.  We are on do not call list, but doesn't seem to stop some of them.  Thank heavens for caller ID or I'd spend half my day just talking to these jerks.

As many have pointed out, it is Discover.  If you want them to stop, you can answer the phone and aske them to stop.  If you don't want to answer, you can simply call back the number, press 1 to speak to an agent, and ask them to stop calling.  You will need to provide the phone number they are calling, but not your credit card numbers.  It took me all of about 30 seconds to take care of.

and apparently it's for Windstream,(my phone service provider), non-profits, special Olympics, breast cancer, or Discover card, and yet, it always says, SVC on the caller ID.

Since there is apparently a single source, SVC, I should be able to prevent these calls. Any suggestions?
