- Tired of itI get calls from this number 5 to 6 times a day. They never leave a message and usually hang up if I actually answer. I answered today and said "you have the wrong number", lets see how long this one works.

- awesomedogtoysandmore.comIt is Discover Card. I called the number and told them that they had been calling 7X a day for 7 days and this was harassment and to stop calling Now. I had a the caller id record to prove that they had been calling and I had been blocking them. They said they would remove me and they called back with in the next hour, so I called back and told the agent again that this was total harassment and to stop calling now and if they called 1 more time further actions would be taken. They have stopped calling. Their system does not recognize being blocked where as several other companies do and they stop on their own. They did stop finally.

- Karen replies to Ed H.It is Discover Card and you need to call them directly at 1-800-347-2683 and tell them to remove your phone # from their Robo lists and then I would suggest to contact the Federal and State Attorney General, the President and then your Sen. and Congress to let them know that they need to have these Companies stop these practices of harassing robo calls.

Somewhere is the 800# to Discover Card Privacy Line and I would call that as well and it is all automated.

Those of you that do not have anyone on the other line are the lucky ones being called. We get a rude voice that we can't understand and his phone cuts out with every other word. Called Discover yesterday and was told it would take about 30 days to get the calls stopped. Today we let out young grandson answer the call after we saw the number on our caller ID. Maybe the caller will know what it feels like to have someone on the other end that you can't understand.

- fed upI was called by someone claiming to reprisent discover, from the number1-800-203-4969.I told them i was not interested and hung up.My wife received several of these calls, and she too declined there offers. On 9/28/09 at 7:29pm,I received another call.I told the woman on the other end,I had been contacted for a week straight. As i began to speek i was inturupted with,Blah,BlahBlah,BLah,over and over again until i finished my sentence. This to me is beyond unprofessional and seriously disturbing.I believe there was nothing short of a lunatic on the other end of the line.I urge these people to reconsider there tactics, because,i will do whatever is neccessary to protect my family from these unstable, misguided, ignorant human beings

- MawMawThese fools keep calling my CELLPHONE! How the hell they got the number I'll never know. The only folks who have my cell number are family, and they know not to give it out to anyone. If a business wants to talk to me, they can call my HOME number....it's listed....
Well they won't be bothering me anymore, I now have them on my "reject" list on the cell. It "ain't" even gonna ring!!! na na na na na !!! - nuts replies to chicub*60 and the phone says "sorry that is not a valid number" and so the number is not blocked
- BobSince there are over 130 messages relating to Discover and this number...
...it's pretty surprising that they are still (as of 11/12/09) calling multiple times per day to their credit card holders.
Who's running the Discover Card marketing division?
It must be that person's assumption that 130 messages on a complaint board is a small amount to pay for the benefits they must be getting from people who actually respond to their harrassment in ways that make Discover money from their calls.
That seems hard to understand, as it is common marketing strategy that says that filed complaints (such as those registered by people on this site), can be considered to be only a small sub-section of the actual complaintants against an action.
Typically, marketers consider blog complaints represent a 1 to 1000 ratio of complaint.
Therefore:
130 messages here represents (potentially) 130,000 unhappy Discover Card recipients.
That's a small pebble splash in the puddle of Discover Card holders receiving these messages.
Marketers will take that amount of whining and complaining from you folks on this board every day!
Take the obvious steps and opt-out through Discover's provided numbers that they send to you in your bill each month.
It WILL make a difference, and stop all the nonsense you get with repeated calls.
Whining about it here on 800notes.com, or sending a complaint to the Federal Registery, or Do-Not-Call list do absolutely nothing in stopping the next robo-call.- Caller: Discover Card Services

- AnonymI called 1-800-DISCOVER today about the calls from "Discover Services" and I am now on the DNC list. She told me it is effective immediately and I may receive calls for the next week, but that should be it.

- SusanI agree with Bob's comment back on November 13th about the dumb-ness of just complaining here repeatedly about this awful marketing, without taking the next steps to follow through.
Having been through this (the constant multiple calls per day from this number), I recommend NOT bothering to use the press 2 option that is given to you if you pick up this call directly.
While others have said that the downstream marketing company (not owned by Discover) who is making these calls claim they will stop calling you within 30 days, they actually won't stop calling.
I tried the press 2, and the calls continued at the same level for the next two months.
To get this to stop, call the opt-out numbers at the real Discover (like 1-800-DISCOVER) to talk to real Discover Card people (not the devil-spawn marketers who are making these robo-calls).
The nice people at Discover itself who answer the calls seem to completely understand the level of anger about this marketing company, and actually will get these calls to stop, as the marketing company gets their phone call robo-lists from Discover once per week.
Discover management, who contracts with this horrible sub-contractor for these calls, really needs to understand what an awful experience this is for those being repeatedly assaulted.
A competent management would figure out that this type of marketing, and the level of complaints, along with the commentary provided here about the rudeness and poor business practices of their marketing company, would IMMEDIATELY understand that this reflects VERY POORLY on Discover Card to the point of people choosing to cut up their cards and sever their relationship with Discover.
Since this has gone on now for a lot of years, it's pretty apparent that the Discover Card management who are making these decisions JUST DOESN'T CARE AT ALL about their customers these days.- Caller: Discover Card sub-contractor

- BeckieWe keep getting this call, too, and we have a card through Discover and we've asked multiple times to be removed.
I'm curious, though, as to whether or not the person who provided their discover accounts to the 800 number listed back on page has seen any suspicious activity on their accounts. That had PHISH written all over it and I'd never give out my card number to someone like that.
Just sayin'- Caller: Discover
- FameWolfVery thankful I used Google voice's phone # when I setup my discovercard. It allows you to block calls based on callerid (and require folks who block their callerid to say their name on the call which stops any of the automated calls with blocked callerid's) so I just add them to the block list.
