According to their company policies, it does not matter if you are on the National Do Not Call list.  You may actually have to go as far as to request a copy of thier policy, to get you off of their list.  Not all of the time if you simply state do not call me, you will still get calls over and over and over again.  Hope this helps and good luck with them not calling you

Here is one of the exceptions:

----calls from organizations with which you have established a business relationship.

So if you have had the service before, they can probably call.

Caller keeps calling.  I have a Ford with a trial subscription for Sirius/XM satellite radio about to expire.  They call day or night.  I haven't been answering, but may try it next time just to let them know I have no interest... will see if it stops then

    BEEN FRAUDED
If you pick up the phone when it is "RINGING", it will more than likely be a collection agency on the other end looking for any kind of info to connect you to an account or create one.  If you see the number on your caller ID and "CALL THE NUMBER", you will actually connect to the actual party that the number was assigned to.

It's called phone spoofing.  This is mostly done by collection agencies.  They pretend to be someone else and getting enough info from you to create an account.  Next thing you will get is a paper threat to pay something in full or go to court.  Some of us have been dealing with these bottom feeders for months and years.  We have programs that track and trace these numbers and then match them to the time and dates with the phone company. None have matched the actual caller.  They also spoof themselves as your neighbors. Advice: take your bill or some proof to the phone provider and have them trace.  If you owe money or have ever in the past, you can bet places like these will be faking themselves as someone else to get the data they need. Make note that these collection agencies can get a lot of info on people by accessing credit reports. Type:"phone spoofing" in yourbrowser or here's a site for a start: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caller_ID_spoofing .  Everyone should be aware of these activities for their own protection. Also see: "predictive dialers" and "VOIP".
Note: Known collection agencies that were tracked: NCO Financial Systems, Law Offices of Joe Pezzuto - Collect America, Cavalry Portfolio, Southwest Credit, Lowery Law Group-CACV and  Portfolio Recovery Services.

Have received numerous calls from this number.  Sirius in Fusion is up for renewal, free 6 month trial about up.  I even had a call last Sunday at 9:30AM.  I rarely, if ever, receive business calls on Sunday.  With pesky and bothersome people like this (and from the experiences of other people who have been called by them), who would want them to represent your company?  They'll lose more subscribers than they earn.  Seriously bad business practices for Sirius with this telemarketer, IMO.

I absolutely love my sirius satellite!
When they called me a billion times day and night to renew I will have to admit that was mildly annoying. The stations though are fabulous and I never lose signal like normal radio stations do... And besides that, most xm subscribers probably don't even know this but sirius owns xm radio now.... Happy day to all and give sirius a chance!

I have been receiving numerous calls per day from this number. Taking the advice on this forum, I called the number for Sirius to opt out of the calls (1-888-440-4197) and was told that my number was not in their account to be removed from their call list. This is bull...How am I receiving calls from them if they don't have my number?

I then spoke with a representative to whom I posed the same question. She only repeated, "Well, there's nothing we can do. We don't have your number in our system." After I would not give in, she went to "talk to her supervisor" and came back 10 minutes later with the same response. I told her frankly, "That sounds like a lie." Only after I said this did she in fact, admit that she had been lying for the past 15 mins. and that they DID have my number in their system but they need "personal account information" to take it off the list. FRAUD ALERT.

I asked her for her name and am planning to report this to the BBB...if this situation even fits their guidelines. But who should I report, Dial America or Sirius? Dial America is placing the calls on behalf of Sirius, but this rep. was working for Sirius, so I am thinking of reporting Sirius.

I called back and got the number to call to be placed on Sirius' do not call list: 888-440-4197

It's an automated system, so you type your number in and they say that your number has been recorded and they will not call you again. We'll see if that happens.

Well that will get you no place since BBB is nothing but a sham.  Anyway, same situation here - free 6 mo. Sirius that came with ford is about to expire.

Well, they have started bugging me now.  Multiple calls.  I answered yesterday and actually had someone at the other end.  (I only answered because I thought it may have been the carpet installers I had scheduled.)  Anyhow, yes, it was someone representing Sirius.  Like many of you, I had a 6 month free subscription with my new Ford Focus.

The caller tried to sell me a 2 year discounted plan.  I explained that I love Sirius radio, but it just wasn't worth the cost to me as I don't spend that much time in my car.  She then said about monthly and quarterly plans that would cheaper.  I said while that may lower my upfront costs, it would increase the cost per month which is even less desirable.  I told her I was not interested.  She then said they may call if there was a better offer between now and the end of January 2010.  (When my trial subscription expires.)

I was at the viewing of a friends Mother last evening.  My phone starts to vibrate and when I checked later - guess who!  866-297-6863.  This morning, 9:02 AM, guess who again!  Yep!  866-297-6863.  You must be a mind reader!

Maybe we are going about this all wrong.  Maybe we should complain to Ford Motor Company.  I'm sure if Ford found out how many disgruntled customers they are getting because of this Sirius thing, they would pressure Sirius for us.  If Ford stopped offering the free trial, that would hit Sirius in the pocketbook a lot harder than any of us could individually.  Sirius would lose this complete marketing opportunity.  I'm sure they make plenty from people who do sign on for service.  Would they risk losing that opportunity by harassing people who do not want the service?

    Thoughts?

I had been getting calls a couple of times a day for a few months.
Tried to ignore them but I'm tired of the phone ringing all the time so I called back, -spoke to a human being (English must have been his second language though) ...I politely asked that my number be removed from their call list, he politely grilled me a little with some mild questioning and asked for my number. He said that my number would be removed and the calls would stop immediately. Then He half-heartedly tried to sell me a radio!

I'll wait a few days and repost......
