Started receiving these calls at 8 AM last Friday.  Called and reported it to my state's AG and the FTC.
AG stated that if you have Caller ID on your phone, DON'T pick up.  Spoke to my 5/3 branch.  They are passing this scam on to their legal dept.  Yesterday, the "bank" left a message on my machine, which I wrote down verbatim.  As it's a federal holiday today, I will recontact AG and FTC tomorrow.  Have no idea how they even got my unlisted number.

Fifth Third is not an internet Bank.  They are based out of Ohio and also have branches in Indiana.

    Harassed
I have been receiving unwarranted phone calls as well messages from the toll free number 866-450-0037. They are calling from Fifth Third Bank telling me to call them back regarding my account.  I don't hold an account with that bank. When I answered the latest of the last 7 calls, I was harassed about a gentleman who they need to speak with. I neither know the gentleman they spoke of nor have I ever heard of him.  When I asked to be removed from their call list, I was heckled about how it is not possible to remove my number unless I can prove I am not the man they called for. They asked me about how long I have had my phone number and when I told them that I would report them for harassment to the attorney general of the state, they said they felt threatened and that I needed to stop harassing them.  Since I've been receiving these calls, I cannot see how it is that they are feeling harassed as it is my phone that is being called.

keep getting calls from these people saying they are fifth third ,so heres the problem. these people tell me im late on mortgage payment and i sit here and explain how just yesterday i posted a half paymen. while setting infront of  my computer and viewing my account  it clearly states that the payment i made one day prior has been posted to my account, then the poor english speaking lady on the other line say they have no record and threatens me about my home, and sending me to collections. i then ask this p.o.s why dont they leave any messages on my answering machine and she states thatits not fifth thirds policy to leave messages and gives me a call back number, then she keeps making threats even when i tell her how ive spoken to fifth third bank 5 days prior and made arrangements to pay up my mortgage and get it back to even, i then asked her when their policy changed because just 5 days prior i had a message from fifth third bank on my answering machine. sound like a whole bunch of s&#* to me. im gonna get to the bottom of this, so dont give personal info to sack lickers there fake

We get calls from this number several times a day and when we answer, there is no one on the line.  It is extremeely irritating and has been going on for weeks.  My phone service provider can't tell me who it is and they are unable to block it.

Don't have an account with these people.  If I did, there should not call me on Sunday.  They are not very respectful or intelligent.

My son financed a new car through this 5/3 bank and apparently gave them MY phone number as the contact number.  Can you believe it?   So now they call ME day & night, a dozen times a day.  They're driving me crazy.   I don't know what he's gotten me into, but I'm pretty mad about it.  He swears that he's made his payments and has never been late, and, since he still has the car, I tend to believe him.  Especially after reading some of the stories on here.   In fact, I'm not even sure why they're calling, since they won't leave a message and always hang up.

If you're wanting to buy a new car and the dealer suggests the 5/3 bank, run the other way as fast as you can!  Drive your old jalopie till the wheels fall off, but DO NOT get mixed up with this outfit.

These people called every hour yesterday, starting around 7:50 in the morning and ending around 8:30 PM.  Today there have been 6+ calls already.  Prior to the last few days, they have called looking for someone who doesn't live here and hasn't for at least 7 years.  We have no business with 5/3 and never have.  When they first started calling a few months ago, we informed them of all this and were "assured" they'd remove our number from their call lists.  They didn't.  The calls are instead increasing in frequency, and they're now asking for two different people, neither of which live here or have had this phone number in the last 7 years.  Since they leave no address or business name, it is impossible to write a cease and desist letter.

Wow!  These guys are obnoxious.  We get calls every 30-40 minutes all day long from 866-450-0037, starting at 8 am usually ending between 8 and 9 at night.  Today we've gotten 12 calls so far, and it's only 5 pm.  We spoke to them a few times about a month ago and have let them know that the person they're looking for hasn't had this number in 6 years and doesn't live here.  Like some of you, we were assured our number would be removed from their lists.  NOPE.  Our efforts only increased the calls from a few a day to almost 20 a day.  Ring Ring...nobody there...click.  Ring Ring...nobody there. Click.  Over and over again.

We contacted our phone service provider, who was UNABLE to confirm whether 5/3rd owns this number and and were advised to change our phone number.  Since this number isn't anonymous, Anonymous Call Rejection doesn't help.  Our provider isn't able to do a block on an individual incoming line, so we have to change numbers if we wanted the calls to stop.   My sympathy to anyone dealing with this problem.

Also, I'd suggest you file complaints with the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) and your state's Attorney General.  The more people who report this, the more likely they'll be to take action.

5/3 bank has been calling me for five weeks now, the first time demanding my account information, user name/password, and branch location. I told the twit on the other end, that if he was really from 5/3 Bank, he would already have the information. So now when they call, I pick up and hang up.

I have a car loan with them and made an arrangement to catch up on a late payment, however, I get calls all day log, starting at 8 am all the way until 9 pm. Some days its a many as 15-18 calls. This is getting ridiculous! They don't even leave a message and hang up if I answer it.... There must bee a law against them calling this many times a day...
