- Mary replies to JeanIt is unbelievable being on the "Do Not Call List." If you receive a letter from them, you may want to contact the bank and/or credit card companies. I wasn't notified the debt was going to be transferred to another company & did visit the bank to see if it was legitimate or not. It was.
- RoryThese idiots call 3-5x a day trying to collect a debt from my late mother. Even though I am executor of her estate, these jerks want me to pay her debts out of my own pocket. My mom died owing more than what she had. My attorney informed me since it's not my debt I owe them nothing. If the calls continue he's interested in pursuing legal action. No matter how many times you tell them to stop calling, they continue. I've talked Bart the Supv. He's an [***]. Told me they will continue the calls. Looks like I may end up owning this mom&pop organization! Avoid any confrontation with Bart, he's uncooporative and an ass!

- Suzanne| 1 replyI have given these people the docket number for the probate court account many times, both in writing and over the phone. That isn't enough for them. They appear to want to scare me into thinking I need to pay the debts myself. They won't stop calling and I will no longer speak to them.

- Resident47 replies to SuzanneIf you're not legally responsible to pay, it's illegal to coerce or trick you to pay a dead person's old debt. P&C has to stand in a probate line like everyone else. If they don't need any more help from the estate executor, it's time to send a ''cease communication'' notice via USPS Certified with return card. If they disobey that order or badger you to spend your own money, warm up a lawsuit and send a draft copy to their general counsel. They can pay for your hassle quietly or be named as "defendant", their choice.

http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2011/07/fdcpa.shtm - SuzannneThese people are very nasty. I have given the docket number for the probate court for the estate in question several times on the phone and twice in the mail. The reason they are calling is because there is very little money in the estate.....probably found that out from the probate court...and they are trying to get me to think I need to pay them money. So I no longer answer the calls.

- miss k replies to KimThis and other numbers are calling for a Credit Card debt my Father had and hes been deceased since November 2012. They expect meto pay and Im physically handicappd cant work anymore on a fixed Social Security Income that I barely suvive on, Im going to report them and if nothing happens this wll go to my attorney.
- Laura C replies to KimI and my sister are having the same issue with this company. Our father has been deceased for only a month and a half, and they started calling me the week after he passed away. Never rude, but unneccessary. There is no estate to pay off whatever debt they are collecting; we barely have enough for his medical bills as he spent his last several months in the hospital and having surgeries to try to keep him alive. I find the calls to be disturbing, and getting mailings as well, it is just innappropriate I feel.
- DEveryday I am receiving calls that and it is irritating, because I do not know this company
- Bub17Caller didn't leave a message. I have no debt and no loans. Go bother a deadbeat.

- Wish I was sleepingAdd this number to your block list unless you want illegal calls at 6am.
Left a message saying only "call this number with reference number ____" or something like that. - b.j replies to Jya
- RiverMy husband passed away the end of April. I have called all the companies involved in his estate for credit cards, mortgage, insurance, etc. I have already made arrangements with each company. All of a sudden I start getting calls from this number. Most of the time it is either early or late in the day so I have not answered. After reading all your comments I am glad I did not. This is not the only company "collecting from the dead". There are 2 other phone numbers calling here also. It is the same thing...they never mention a company name only their supposed name and ask for me to call. Sometimes they leave a reference number. If they cannot mention a company name they are calling from then they are not legit. Anyways, his estate is settled so no one should be calling. Terrible to be treated this way when grieving for our loved ones!!

- JaasonIdentified herself as a rep from Phillips & Cohen involved in representing clients over probate court matters. I call that an intent to misrepresent. It's a tricky way to duck around being a debt collector and create a perception that you are possibly a Law Firm involved in Probate matters. I asked her, "is that a law firm?" And she repeated the same spill above without a direct yes or no response. She acts all professional and serious business like and has this recording routine all memorized ... delivers like a she devil from hell.
In the USA no one has to testify against themselves and only a Judge can bind you to make you testify about others....if you choose not to talk....you pretty much can.
But....... people like the woman who called me have jobs because no one cares to protect their freedom to NOT speech......
If it didn't work they would not have jobs....- Call type: Debt collector
- LeeJust received another call from 866-504-4754 and again no message left, the first time I did answer and caller stated they were trying to locate the person in charge of my deceased mother's estate. I asked the purpose of the call and was told this is an attempt to collect a debt and I immediately asked, I will need to see a letter or statement indicating a debt, call was disconnected and I never received any written correspondence. I will log any future calls to submit if legal action is required.

- bobThey are trying to collect fake debts from dead relatives. They want you to feel bad and give them money. Your relative likely owes them nothing.
- frustrated widowerThis number is contacting both me and My in laws. My husband was killed suddenly in a car accident and these people won't leave us alone. I gave the number to our attorney.

- Tired of these callsThey have called many times and I would not answer. They ask for the person who has the authority for the estate of Kevin Young, who is someone I don't even know. I wish they would quit calling!!!
- Caller: I could hardly understand since there was static and a foreigner talking
- StaceyThe person calling from this number told me they were from Citibank and were just calling to get information on my deceased step father. After receiving 6 phone calls per day from this phone number for a week, I reported it to the Better Business Bureau. The BBB already had the number on file. It was for a company in Honolulu, HI, that was previously implecated in a lottery scam.
DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION! DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY! THEY ARE TRYING TO SCAM YOU! - Jamie Taylorgot a call at 8 am EST, asking for person handling estate of my late father, I explained that the estate is out of probate and they had their chance then to get whatever was owed! Asked rep if it was being recored and she said yes, so I very clearly stated that they were notified if this was legit and had a year and a half to file on the probate, so if they didnt OH WELL and to never call again, also contacted aatorney handling probate and gave him all info- he said its a scam and to just not speak with them! HA! I am not that stupid and if it was actually a debt, you should've file on the estate back in July of 2013!
