got this at 6:22 tonight.

I just got the call at 11:02a 5-27-08...I could hear them hang up the receiver.

This number keeps calling me. It is infuriating because I am currently looking for a job and when I get a call from an unknown number I think that it might be a response to one of the resumes I sent out. Alas, it is this dang number just trying to get me on the phone! I don't answer calls from numbers I don't know... especially if the area code starts with 8 anything!

I kept getting calls from this number and when I answered once last week, it was someone offering information on continuing eduation.  I said I wasn't interested in doing so and asked for my number to be removed. At some point, when they had been calling over the few weeks, I saved the number into my Caller ID on my phone as "Career Advisors".  

Today, I received another call from this number and answered to just say I am not interested.  However, on the other end was a guy with a heavy Indian accent wanting to offer a way to reduce my debt.  I told him I wasn't interested and he became very pushy.  Eventually, I hung up on him.  

I called the number back a few minutes later and someone answered for Career Advisors.  

That was really wierd!

This week, we've received two calls from 866-539-4654: 6/18 @ 2:55 pm and 6/19 @ 10:40 am.  We've received many others in the past that I've erased from our recorder.

This is a company that tries to get people to go back to college and they receive fees from the colleges.  These is an expense way to pay for college, so be careful.  I have been getting these calls with no messages and they get your number/name when you sign up for something online.  I didn't sign up for them, as when I figured out their angle - I cancelled out of the site.  But they still got ahold of my contact info.  I just removed my name and number from their database, upon my request.  Hope this helps explain the calls.

The only place I've ever put my cell phone number is on my resume. I'm guessing they scan Career Builder and pick up the phone numbers from resumes.

They won't stop calling me. I've asked twice to be removed from their lists and that I was not interested. They still call. Something about furthering my education was their message. I told them I am in school now, so no thanks. They still call.

Same thing with me. I don't answer and I am even on the Do Not Call List.

The only place I have ever put my cell number is on my resume on Career Builder's website. SO....The information isn't being pulled out of cyberspace, it is being scraped from Career Builder. Shady tactic, but Career Builder makes most of their money from advertisements and "Partner" institutions.

The BBB does nothing...They are like a movie reviewer for businesses. You need to contact the Missouri Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission office. There are real penalties when these guys get involved. I never speak to these people
but I got 2 calls on July 3rd.  They took the weekend off.
Yesterday 2 more and today so far, 3 !
They are calling my cell phone, using MY MINUTES !

While it's true that the BBB has no law enforcement authority, consumer complaints to the BBB can help motivate law enforcement agencies. For example, the Florida Attorney General noted that complaints to the Florida BBB about various crooked debt collectors were so numerous that they played a role in his decision to sue and shut down those debt collectors.

yeah, i get this number calling my cell phone to i never answer it either. They had left a message saying they are my career advisor i know i don't have one of them. So hopefully if i keep ignoring them they would stop calling.

i would tend to guess that every person complaining about getting a call from this # are registered on a career sight and either are currently looking for employment or were looking for employment at one.time.  Each person on this list used their personal # to be reached at for employment possibilities.  I hate getting calls from #s i dont know also, but i know thatwhen i put my phone # somewhere online...it's open for ANYONE to view or use.  It's just the chance that we all take when we post our phone # anywhere online...even if it's just in our resume!  Get over it and stop bitchin!

I work at career advisor. we are not telemarketing, yall put yall information on our websites and asked for information about schools. we are a free that helps find schools.We dont ask for any info execcpt what you have already submitted. no scam dont eben ask for money.

I work for career advisor and its nothing like that we are not telemarketers because were not saling anything. secondly we help a lot of people get in schools and start a better life. they thank us for that if you dont understand that, thats you!
