- Justin replies to ChanceChance, I received the same exact call about the same exact thing.
- mercfanIt's funny how these places only call and try to get you to make payments over the phone. That's because you have the right to verify their claim (which they claim they have done in the recording). As part of the FDCA - they are supposed to inform you in writting about the nature of the debt, the origiinal debtor, address of the original debor and your account number with them. And if they don't, you have the right to request that information in writing. If they can't provide that information - you shouldn't pay them anything - even if you think you owed the debtor they mentioned.
If they really had the original debt information, they would have your mailing address and would be able to request payment via the mail. Of course they never have that information- Caller: 866-568-4463

- MariaGot the same random call/voicemail one day, but ignored it for being a "California" number & I don't know anyone or ever been to Cali. A few days later I listened to the voicemail & it was very threatening - about how this is my last chance to resolve a debt. Foolishly called back, Jerry Mills IMMEDIATELY answered off one ring & knew my name off the bat without me saying so much as a Hello. He knew my full name, my SSN, physical address & made it a point to mention documents can not be sent to a PO Box (not sure if he knew I do have a POBox).. Said that I owe Wells Fargo (an account that has been closed in over 5yrs) for Overdraft Protection that I had & never paid them when I closed the account. Told me the amount owed, that Wells Fargo contacted him (his LAW Firm) to collect this debt or I will be summoned to court on Monday & threatened me with court/attorny fees. I explained that Wells Fargo never contacted me, & when I closed the account, the clerk never mentioned having a debt on top of I got all my money in the account given to me by check - Why would they give me a full check if I had owed them money? Why would it only come up 6 years later? But Jeremy Mills had an answer for everything. During our call he spent alot of time convincing me to give him my card information - the call was "legally" recorded & their system was encrypted & the information would be immediately deleted once the funds were paid. In the middle of asking for my information, someone on his end laughed in the background (but he's in a fancy law office, right?) I gave him a fake card number & after he took the information he placed me on hold for "Billings" (but why would I have to give him my credit card info & not his Billings person?) When Billings got on the phone, the woman only repeated the process of "We will bill your card tomorrow? Ok, have a nice day, Thank You." I immediately called my bank just to request a new card because I was very paranoid about all the personal information he DID have about me. Called the courthouse & checked my online credit reports & there was nothing out of the ordinary. I blocked the number.. the next day Jeremy Mills calls back from a local 207-number this time, but I ignored it.. got another threatening voicemail about how the card was declined & our call was recorded on a Legal Government Line & I had until the end of the day to contact him. Told me to call him back at a 575-number (which is a New Mexico number). Why would a "law firm" call me from California, then Maine, & asked to be called back to New Mexico? Why is a law firm collecting debts? No one anywhere has ever owed a company money just to pay the lawyer (law firm) directly via telephone!! I ended up having to change my number for the harrassment to stop. Still haven't received any Summons to Court, either.

- SoberPA| 1 replyGot a call from “Source Solutions” from 858-257-2095 a voice recording “This is our last and final attempt to contact you regarding in a important document in our office, pleas contact Brian Williski.” It went through twice. I decided to called the number and spoke with someone and ask what this is pertaining to, they continued to say your are being sued for fraudulent of bounce checks and being sued by Advance America for supposed for a loan for $700 back 2011 . When I told them that I never had a loan with Advance America and I have a written letter stating that, they didn’t care. They then continue to say that a group of lawyers have “bought” this so called loan. And they hang up before I ask more questions. I called back 7 times to request more information and they will not give it to me. I have asked them to send them the information in the mail and they hang up. They told me to NEVER called them again because I am harassing them.

- lmcCompany called from a Florida number but left 866-568-4463 as the call back number and said basically I had to call back today or they would pursue legal actions. I figured it was a scam but called back anyway. The message said they verified the debt so I asked the lady who answered if I could get a verification of debt sent to me and she said they already sent something that I didn’t respond to. I then said my attorney asked for something to be sent to him and she asked why I had an attorney and I told her because I’ve been getting calls for some time about payday loans which I never had and that he had all of my records for the last 5-6 years and would like a copy of this as well. She then asked for his phone and I repeated that he wanted it mailed and she said anyone who has an attorney would have no problem giving the phone number and hung up on me. I called back many times and got hung up on until a man answered and when I told him what was going on he interrupted me and started yelling at me and hung up as well. I called multiple times again, now just to annoy them like they annoy people, and he called me a liar and hung up then told me to stop calling them, the final time I told him any legitimate collection company or bill collector would have no problem sending a verification of debt and told them not to call me again because they are a scam and he said “WHAT” I repeated that they are a scam then I hung up. Let’s see how long it takes for them to call from a different number lol.

- ChrisMy wife just got a call from these people, we're going through tax craziness with the government right now so we thought it was a legit call so I went into action mode. I called them back to see what it was about and got berated on supposed things I owed from over 5 years ago, and told that if I didn't pay the half-settlement ($481) by the end of the day that I would be forwarded to court and fees could potentially reach $4000, they could garnish wages and take my car, etc. He said there were no other options, I panicked! Went into crisis mode for about an hour trying to figure out how to get myself out of the bind before my Spidey sense seriously went off and I decided to check the internet for their credentials. OF COURSE I COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING LEGITIMATE. Thank goodness for this forum, and thank you all for sharing hopefully the word gets out and puts these people behind bars for terrorism!!!
