BEWARE "HONEST AMERICAN" works for the scammers and gets paid to make posts like this. I know him personally and I am disgusted by the tactics this company uses to try and collect debts that have been discharged over a decade ago.

A message was left on my answering machine, using a maiden name and threatening to file a civil law suit if I did not contact Integrity Financail Investigative Services. She was Angela Adams ext.304.  They were rude and were rang on the phone along with the car warranty scam. This is not a legal practice. I have lived at the same address for over 10 years.

I also rec'd a call from these scumbags saying that I was a plaintiff in a pending civil lawsuit!! They also called my elderly parents and my future mother-in-law's house regarding a debt that was charged off from 15 years ago!! I plan on calling the Attorney General's office in my state of Massachusetts, as these people obviously are practicing in unlawful debt collection practices!! I advise anyone else who has been victimized and insulted by these dirtbags to do the same!!!!

I have been going back and fourth with these people for the past week. I have been dealing with a "Wayne Johnson" and he infomed me that they were representing attnys "Jeffrey Gouldman" for an old outstanding debt. Keep in mind this debt is over 13 yrs old. I ran my credit report today and this old debt is not on my credit report at all. I asked him for an address to send a payment to and he told me that they do not do it that way. i have to enclose my bank information with the acct # and tell them what day I want them to withdraw the money. When i talked with them about it the bank information will be taken on a secure line that will be recorded. Once I got this info I gave it to my husband who then looked everything up on line. THESE PEOPLE ARE FRAUDS!! DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION OF YOURSELF TO THEM. THEY ARE VERY RUDE AND YOU CAN FRAZZLE THEM AND CATCH THEM IN THEIR OWN WEB OF LIES IF YOU BEGIN ASKING THEM QUESTIONS. REPORT THEM TO ANYONE YOU CAN. THERE ARE ATTNYS OUT THERE THAT ARE LEGAL AND LIGIT AND INVESTIGATE PEOPLE LIKE THIS!! I am in NY state and have a brother in law who works in collections. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!!!!

Call from a Keith Stevens from IFIS. He was rude and keep asking me rude questions. I told him I had paid the debt off 10 years ago and that I couldn't pay anymore because I had no job. He asked me if I was living in the dark, why did I have a phone then, if you have money to drive your mother to the doctor then you should have money to pay this debt. Not that was uncalled for. I asked him why was he so rude and talking so mean to me and he just kept on talking and said I was the rude one for not paying my debts. I explained again that I paid this debt off 10 yrs.ago and he kept talking ruddly. So I hung up on him. He called back about 2 mins. later and my husband talked to him and he wouldn't even talk to my husband. He transfered him to someone else. They wouldn't even accept $25.00 a month to pay the debt off. So they said they would see us in court. They also threaten to take the money out of my husband unemployment checks. We called the BBB and the Attorney Genreal. I hope something can be done to these people. They are Ugly and rude.!!!!!!!

I just got a call from this company claiming that they needed to speak to my mom as she has been named as a defendant in a civil law suit.  I called them back and they refused to give me any information.  After I got off the phone with them I did an internet search and found this discussion.  I am getting ahold of my mom as soon as possible and warning her about what is going on and NOT to give out any information and to warn other family members that there is a company out there phishing for information!!

They called a relative of mine stating I had a civil complaint against me, gave a case number, and they were awfully rude and vicious.  They said there was an investigation and called themselves Integrity Financial Services, Milton Perry.  They harassed my relative and told them I had to call them.  Of course I just "googled" the number to find all these comments about this phone number.

These guys keep calling my number, but asking for someone who doesn't even live here. I don't even recognize this person's name. One of the messages stated that they were assuming that they had the right number for this person because no one responded to their messages. What kind of logic is that? No one calls them back because they're not asking for anyone who lives here. Then I googled their number and found all these posts. Of course, I'm pretty sure they're just lying to get me to call them, since I'm the one with an old debt. I think I'll keep saving all their messages in my voice mail in case they ever do try to sue me. After all, according to their own messages, they're not asking for me.

“Debt in America and its Collectors” on Dateline
This falls under the fair debt collection practices act. Within five days after you are first contacted, the act requires the collector to send a written notice telling you the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor, and what action you should take if you believe you don't owe the money. You should then send a letter via certified mail disputing the amount and asking the debt collector to verify it. The collection agency will then have to get verification of the original debt or a copy of the judgment against you, including the name and address of the original creditor.

Never say or write anything that indicates you are taking responsibility for the debt. If you don't believe you owe the debt, letters should be sent via certified mail that requires a signature, so you have proof that they were received.

Once the collection agency receives your cease and desist letter they can communicate with you once more, via mail, letting you know one of three things: that further efforts to collect the debt are terminated, that certain actions may be taken by the debt collector, or that the debt collector is definitely going to take certain actions.

When you send the cease and desist letter to the debt collector, send it via certified mail with return receipt requested. This will provide proof that the letter was sent and received. If the debt collector communicates with you beyond the single instance allowed by law, this evidence will allow you to seek punitive action against the debt collector

Received a call from this organization on 9 June 2009 for my daughter.  The same info everyone else posted on this forum applies to the message left on my answering machine.  I will ignore it and not pass on to my daughter since these bottom feeders should get a real job.

Yes, please do not listen to this guy he works for them. I work for a lay firm and has worked in the court system it's a scam. You have 30 days to answer any compliants for wage garnishments. You ca't go to jail. These are old debts that the orginal company has charged off. These fleas gather this info and scare people into giving them money. After they called one of the attorney's relative we had law clerks research them they are just con artist!!!!

The woman who originally placed the call spoke 100 miles per hour... We were told we had 48 hrs. to call them back and if not, civil action would be taken..They were very rude and since the debt was valid, my husband and I made arrangements to pay of the debt (a settlement amount). I tend to think I am a very smart individual.. However I am on the way to my bank to close my acct. Even the best of us can get duped!! Wow, I am still in shock and very pissed off that there are people out here who try to take advantage of others when all we're trying to do is make it!
