    sky,
was this a copy of an original document with your signature? My bet is that it's not.  I bet it is just something they generated huh?  How nice that they left off the deliquent date. . .  again, they purchase for PENNIES on the dollar and they are hoping for a big fat profit on your lunch. . .

Karen, no it's just a one page typed up Word page. They DID leave off the
date it went delinquent, and they did not put original amount I owed either. They just jacked up price to over $2,000 owed now. There is no
signature from me either.  I, luckily, have the original invoice of this
bill from the last time I paid in August 2004.  I also have my credit reports from the 3 agencies, and one said it was written off in 2006.

I found the ceast and desist form in my credit repair book.  I wrote it out
today Saturday April 18, and in it I mentioned the Statute of Limitations of 4 years which means the debt was made inactive August 2008. I also sent
a copy of my last invoice from this creditor which shows my real balance
which was much lower than $2,000 they are trying to get now.

I'm going to mail this today (it's before 30 days) They started calling
me April 6.  Hopefully this will end this.  I'll tell you if they continue calling me or sending emails.

    Sky,

There you go.  No date of deliquency. . .no original amount. . . just a typed word page claiming what THEY say you owe.  Obviously they have no orignal docs to back this claim.

glad i did a search online and found all this information...this company called where my mother works and with her supservisor. which usually is something a company should not be able to get that far. so i have to wonder how they found out who it was. they must have lied to get that information. but now i know to tell her to ignore them and she can go to her supervisor and tell them who this company really is and tell them off if they happen to call back. i figured it was some outrageous company trying to collect on probably some old debt. now i have all the info that i need. thanks for all your postings. i might call them from a payphone and see how they act. so far from what i have seen from other ppl they yell when they are being challenged and that is not very professional for someone that might be truly collecting on a debt for a company.

haha, watch them they will change their company name in an instant.  now it is some other name something like Eastern Ethical managment.  funny how it is one company and then it changes names but uses the same phone number.

First of all it is NOT legal to harass and call neighbors and family members to collect a debt.  I work for the government, and this is illegal.  The most important thing to do when someone tries these kind of  tactics is to immediately report it to your Attorney General's office.  Yes, I agree this person works for the telemarketing agencies that are trying to collect "debts" with nothing to back up what they are claiming you owe!!

    HELP!!!  Karen?  (or anybody)

After not hearing from them for awhile, I suddenly got a phone message
yesterday, Wednesday, May 6, at 2 pm----with a really mean sounding man
saying I have A CIVIL COMPLAINT served against me!!!

Is this the "law suit" that you said they might threaten?  They gave a lot
of numbers--my case number, phone number, etc---but I just deleted the
    message.

With Mercury going Retrograde, and the Full Moon, I can't deal with this
    anymore!

    What do I do now?

I think I had a message left on my cell phone by the same person.  What did you end up doing?  Does anyone have any real information on these people.  Should I just not respond?

So, you just called these people back?  What did they say to you?  You told them to send you something by certified mail?  They told me through a voicemail left on my cell phone (part of which I couldn't understand) that a verification of work document would be sent to my work.  Then she went on to say that court proceedings could take place if I didn't call backt to respond to this matter within 48 hours.  What do you think I should do?

Do you happen to know or tell me how to find out the statute of limitations for Texas?

    Sky,
I assume you sent the certified letter to them (Saw your post above). . .if they are calling after they received that, they are violating the law. Do you have the receipt from the post office showing you mailed the letter? They are not a legitimate company they are damn bottom feeders who have purchased this debt for penny's and are trying to make a great profit.  Erase the message and go on with your life.  This is how they make money but scaring people to pay and pay.

just do a search on yahoo or google and type in statute of limitations by state.  There should be a list of each state and it's  time limit on open accounts (creditcard) contracts, etc.

Sky, they are breaking the law if they have received your certified letter asking them to cease contacting you.  Begin writing down when they call and keeping notes.  They should no longer be contacting you after they received your letter. Do you have a copy of the receipt from the post office?  You will also get a receipt in the mail after they have accepted the letter.  If of course you did'nt send it certified re-do one and send it certified. Mean nasty talk. . .that's how they try to get you to pay,  hounding you day after day trying to wear you down.  Don't fall for it.

    Thank you Karen (and BILLL)

I sent the letter regular mail (not certified), but I have a copy
of what I sent them.  I will make another copy of the 3 pages and send
it again by Certified mail. Hope that works better.

Will keep you posted on what happens next.

    Thanks Karen and Billl

I was contacted by this credit card collections company also, but I recorded the conversaton, because they said that I had 3 pmts of 186.00 and I would be paid off. So If they do not follow through I have the recording to take them to court and bank statements to show where they were pulling money from my account. They will owe me.

Hi. I have been reading all the posts above. I got my fist call from these people today and I haven't called em back. Should I? I am currently paying off all my bills so I don't know what acct they'd even be referring to. When the guy left a message he said that he wanted my address to serve me papers. I'm a little worried but I don't want to call. Any advise?

Received a recorded message from NCW with a case number and a "demand" that I respond today. No threats yet, but then again, th e call wasn't for me or anyone that has ever, to the best of my knowledge, lived at this address. Will ignore and not call back unless calls continue.
