- LowellI had this same letter sent to me several times and my wife was persistent about me calling them. I called and gave my mortgage id number and then it hung up. I now know it was a scam. Any ideas out there s to what to do now?

- DeeI don't know about the phone number, but I received the letter and did not open it because there was no indication of who sent it... only a P.O. Box number. I sent it back "refused" and wrote "this recipient does not receive anonymous mail" on the front. If the letter is first class or has an endorsement on the front ( i.e. it says "address service requested" or "return service requested") it will be returned to the sender.

- M Jones| 1 replyI just closed on a HELOC with VyStar and got this exact letter in the mail. It looks very official. They should be charged with mail and wire fraud. Sadly, our government is inept and this kind of activity goes unchecked for years and years.

- BigA replies to M JonesSince the letter does not violate any laws why would the government get involved? Why are you even here? This is a phone number look up site not a junk mail look up site. I have to wonder why you have never heard of junk mail to begin with.

- Josef replies to Tygerkat| 1 replyI posted the business address on the letter. Please don't accuse people of nonsense! If it's your address, stop spamming me, and don't use your real address But I doubt it was from you. Again, it's the business address they used, not a personal address.
- Tygerkat replies to JosefNo accusations of nonsense made.
- Gene CI started out receiving phone calls that I immediately blocked after googling these numerous 866 area code numbers. Always had something to do with lending. Next came a letter a day for a week with a postage free return, very legitimate looking. I shredded them. Today I received one of those peel off edges like a government notification. I am sorry that I deleted my google history where these calls were blocked. I'm notify the police dept and FTC. I doubt they can do anything but it might be worth a try if I receive more of the same this week.

- Dave replies to GEEit is a matter of public record. they are just mining the government updated records on the house.
- BrenI received an official looking letter today referencing that number. My account number was wrong so that raised a flag that something was wrong. Letter has been shredded.

- JbergmanThey’re still sending these as of July 2020. I received the same letter as everyone else about a month after closing on our mortgage refinance. Looks like a check (fold and tear type envelope) and states that they’ve been trying to reach me “regarding a matter of importance.” It also lists my county, closing date, loan amount, lender name, my name and mortgage ID #. The only difference is that on mine the return address lists a PO Box in Forest, VA, not Florida as most other people’s.
I tore it up and tossed in the trash, but wanted everyone to know they’re still sending these.- Caller: Equis Financial

- chris tIn the mail, I got what looked like a check, tear off three sides to open. I recently refinanced and was expecting a check. Had the public mortgage info and said they was trying to reach me about my mortgage. At the bottom it said not affiliated with any lending institution, so of course checked the number before calling. It's heading to the trash. Thanks 800 notes for your page
