Thank you for the help. I will contact a lawyer. I appreciate the help with this. I am so frustrated that a company feels that they have the right to do so. The neat thing is I have proof of each time they called my house. My fax machine prints out a report that captures all incoming calls.

Continued phone calls asking that I call back.  But if I do, they either have a busy signal or say they are not open even though the cdall was during their posted business hours.

I had a Ford Escape and the lease was up and totally paid for. I was working with my Ford Dealer on either buying another SUV or leasing again.  I had the car five days longer that I should have and my dealer assured me that they had notified Ford and I could turn it in when I picked up my new vehicle.   Not so!!  The day before I was to pick up my new car, a repo truck showed up at my house and demanded to take the car.  I was beside myself.  It was so embarassing.  When I tried to explain to this guy what was going on, he insisted he had to take the car and looked at me as if I was just BS'ing him.  A few weeks later I received a bill from Ford for $400.00 for the repo charge. I  refused to pay it and now they have Focus calling my house three times a day.  They don't leave a message, they just keep calling while I am at work.

    Getting Angry!
866-664-2512 has been calling my new land line number twice a day. When I answer the phone, I get a recording saying "this is Focus Receivables, we are a debt collecting agency, etc etc, please call us back regarding File #..." and the call is disconnected before ever giving a file number or who the person is even calling FOR. This is very frustrating. I know they aren't calling for me, because I just got phone installed, so obviously whomever had this number before me was probably getting these same irritating phone calls and had their number changed, and now its my problem. I don't OWE any debt, and if I do, then someone stole my identity, which would be nice to know. Every time I call this 866 number back, I just get a recording that sounds like someone's old answering machine, you can NEVER get through to anyone, can't leave a message, nothing. They also say their business hours are Mon-Fri, yet today is Saturday and I just got another call from them, off course, just get their typical run-around answering machine that just runs you in circles. I mean, what is the purpose of these calls if they never speak to you or you can't return their calls like they ask?

The point of a badgering call pattern is to create the anxiety you are exhibiting. Hammer people with enough skip trace calls, and the alleged debtor will come out of hiding with an open checkbook. That's the theory, anyway.

What's been suggested in this thread before, and should apparently be stressed with inch-high letters, is to GET OFF THE PHONE and start a paper trail. Since you're not the target of the skip trace, send the collection agency a cease-comm notice via USPS Certified with return card. The FTC and many consumer watchdogs explain how to draft one.

Understand that you're not dealing with "customer service". You are not a customer, you are a source of funding or information to be milked. (... or bilked) Those phone numbers and reps are not there to help you, but to help themselves to your pockets. Naturally their autodialers don't take days off. I've found in the past that collectors may issue different versions of their operating hours, either out of sloppiness or another form of deception.

Focus Receivable Management keeps calling this private property facility numerous times (recorded message-name of person unknown, etc.). This harrassing and disruptive 'collection agency' calls at times up to 4-5 times/day complaint has been reported to the U.S. "Do Not Call" Registry, but still keep up with this harrasment. The 'automated caller' does not leave his/her's name other than to note 'return my call' at 1-866-664-2512 with 'file number...(blank)..'
Please cease and decease this unwanted calls.

My mom received a call from Charles at 866-664-2512. He asked for her Social Security Number, Birth Date, Mailing Address, etc.  She didn't give those information - this is a SCAM trying to get your personal information to STEAL YOUR IDENTITY.

Call an attorney.  They will contact them and settle for at least $1000 for their harrassing you.  This is illegal harrassment and some of them only stop when sued or threatened suit by an attorney.

Focus Receivables and other low-life Scumbag collection companies buy large quantities of smaller debts from the bigger companies such as Bank of America , Citi-Bank,  Direct Merchants Bank,& others, who only deal primarily with larger debts.

Focus Receivables will use all sorts of tactics to force people to pay the debt by all forms of threats, harassment, trickery, bribery and other unfair, illegal, unethical means.
They would go so far as to look up family members addresses & phone numbers then harass them. Call their place of employment & harass them. They would do damage to innocent victims reputation, such as family & friends in-order to force the person to borrow money to pay the debt.

Focus Receivables use these numbers but have many more

The person who contacts the debtor is paid on commission only. This is why there are so many calls

    Fair Debt Collection Practices Act,1977:

In 1977, The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act was passed. This was to protect consumers from abusive debt collectors like "Focus Receivables"  who have used an array of unethical practices to go after "alleged"  debts they say are owed.

A debt collector may not contact you at inconvenient times or places, such as before 8 a.m. or after 9 p.m., unless you agree.
If you have an attorney, the debt collector must contact the attorney, rather than you. If you do not have an attorney, a collector may contact other people but only to find out where you live, what your phone number is and where you work.
Within five days after you are first contacted, the collector must send you a written notice telling you the amount of money you owe, the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money and what action to take if you believe you do not owe the money.

Debt collectors CAN NOT and in many cases it is illegal if they...
Harass, oppress or abuse you or any third party they contact on your behalf.
Falsely imply that they are attorneys or government representatives.
Falsely imply that you have committed a crime.
Falsely represent that they operate or work for a credit bureau.
Misrepresent the amount of your debt.
Give false credit information about you to anyone, including a credit bureau.
Send you anything that looks like an official document from a court or government agency when it is not.
Collect any amount greater than your debt, unless your state law permits such a charge.
    Deposit a postdated check prematurely.
Use deception to make you accept collect calls or pay for telegrams.
Take or threaten to take your property unless this can be done legally.
