- JI have gotten calls from them repeatedly. They call for several days in a row then stop for a while. I also have a card with a subsidy of guaranty bank (funny the recording doesn't say which bank, just "your financial institution" and "your debit or credit card") but when I called the 800 number on my card to ask about these calls, they said they do not use any 3rd party reporting and they do not contact card holders about purchases. If my card was lost or stolen, they would need me to call them to report it, not the other way around. When I check my statement, there are no false charges. Remember that phishers may not ask for your entire card number. Part of a CC number denotes if it's a visa or mastercard or discover, etc, part is specific to the issuing bank itself and the last part is visible on your receipts and in online purchase emails. If you give them just 9th-12th number they can probably find out or guess the rest and have ball using your money!
- NO THEY ARE NOT! replies to Rufus LeRoy Lipscomb, III| 5 repliesAnd if you fall for this scam you deserve to lose your money.
They called on behalf of Keesler Federal Credit Union asking for information.
I immediately called Keesler and they said this number was a known phisher.
But if you want to give them your info, please do so as this economy needs people to throw away their money to this unorganized group of people so they can spend your money on stuff for them. - EvanIt's a SCAM. I called my bank and said their fraud people NEVER call with an automated message. They only call in person.
- KrysThis number is completely legitimate. My bank works with this service: any time there is a questionable charge on my card (e.g. anything out of state or the country), these guys are right on it. Even though these charges are usually okay, it's nice to know that they're on top of things.
So stop trash talking them; they're alright!!- Caller: Fraud Detection
- Hey!There! It seems to be legit? I called my Bank and they said they do use that service, quoted the number they said yes that`s it, so I called the number gave them the 8 digit number, they left me on the answering machine, entered zipcode, automated system asked me about charges, a charge I didnt remember? that never went through anyway when I couldnt answer they put me on hold for a live person who wanted me to verify my address so I did, minus the state, but I guess I already gave them my zip, she proceded to quote 3 amounts of charges I had made and I verified to her that yes I did make those purchases.
It`s just strange!? im still suspicious! because I had made some pretty large purchase amounts, before this, which I never have before and no one ever called me about that!? instead they call about $13.88 and a few larger amounts than that?......maybe because one was porno? hehheh!
The thing is this seems to be a violation of ones privacy, at the very least. Sure I dont always order porno? - Dont be scammedTHIS IS A SCAM DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION WHAT SO EVER!!!!!!!!!! - lynn replies to jj23Yes, I had the same thing and they were two charges from websites I don't even go to. 200 people in MI had false charges from a grant web site and when the recording plays you cannot understand the name. On purpose!! if questions email me fun4fetti@yahoo.com I had to file a police report to avoid further issue and change my numbers. They tried my old one again today on easter sunday!!

- Kate Theil replies to cbtoleThis is a true fraud detection center. I just called my credit union and they said that this was their fraud detection center and it is not a fraud.
- VXOThis is legit. I just got a call from them to verify charges on my debit card. I'd used it to fill up at a gas station for the first time, and they wanted me to confirm that it wasn't fraudulent activity.
I've seen other posts here reporting odd things from this number. Here's what it SHOULD do...
I let it go to my voicemail, as I do with any unknown number (I don't like to be bothered). When it left me a message, it left the number, and a six digit message code. I called it back and entered that code, and it replied with the name of my bank. It asked for my zip code for confirmation. Note that by now, only REALLY generic info has been passed - nothing that would be valuable for phishing. It replied with my name and asked me to verify the last charge on my account, press 1 if I made it, press 2 if I didn't.
If you get something really odd from this number, they do not give you a message code or it seems to not be banking related, hang up. You're getting hit by some douche spoofing Caller ID.- Caller: Fraud Detection Center
- titiThis company is great, had a transcation on my acct that wasnt me, called me up right away, did not ask me anything abt my acct, tld me where my card was used, and if it was declined or not, have to give them props, their good.

- NickI am pretty sure this is NOT legit. All these people saying it is probably WORK for the spammers. I let mine go to voicemail. When the automated message comes on and is supposed to say the name of my bank it just says "Financial Institution." And when it listed my recent charges, it listed a charge of $1 at the location of "One billion....bunch of random numbers." Just call your bank first.
- CynthiaGot a bogus call from this number. I checked with my bank - it was NOT approved by them so this is some kind of scheme to get information - I agree that I think all the "positive" responses on here are generated by the spammers themselves!!!
- MJGot a call from the 866-750-9107 number yesterday morning and again this morning. My husband took the call and decided to hang up before going through the entire call, as he was suspicious about it. The thing that concerned us was that the auto-generated call used my name and the name of our bank specifically.
I called my bank this morning to learn that they use this "Fraud Detection Center" calling service...it's auto-generated when a transaction or multiple transactions occur on your account (not all the time/not in all cases), but in my case, I made an out-of-state purchase at a gas station 4 hours away this past Saturday, and then made several purchases the following day back in my home town area (made a fast turnaround trip-8 hours total, across and back state lines.) My bank's representative informed me this was legit and identified the precise transactions that triggered the auto-call.- Caller: Fraud Detection Center
- MJAnd to all on here who are "so sure" that those of us leaving detailed information about this call...that we are spammers and part of the scam....well, that's not true. I'm definitely not a spammer and I'm not involved in any scam. I am just as concerned as anyone else about this number...the thing that really concerned me was that "IT" has an association between my name, home phone, and the bank I use. That was of great concern to me.
In addition to what I said above, I had actually called my bank twice...the first time I got some new trainee who was not aware of the use of the FDC service and told me he thought it was a scam and even went on to say that there were/are other calls about the same thing and that the bank's Fraud unit was working on it. He didn't sound real bright, and it's because of my doubts about HIM that led me to call my bank back and to speak with someone with greater knowledge, experience, authority to dig into this deeper for me.
I am now satisfied that I have been given the correct, legitimate information as to why I received the auto-generated call in the first place, and that I wasn't being scammed. - William - SACUThis is legit, I made a purchase at work with e-port credit systems that we use for the snack and colas. The e-port placed a hold on the account that triggered the fraud detection
