I have had the same experience with these people. As far as I know, they have never called my home. Ericia Brown from QAR called my uncle and left a message saying it was urgent that I call them back. They would be filing legal action against me if I didn't. Gave him a case number and extension for me to call. Which is illegal for them to leave that type of message with anyone other than the affected person. I called them back. Very rude. Couldn't tell me who their client was or who I supposedly originally owed the $660 to. When I began to tell Ms. Brown that what she had done was illegal and I wanted to file a complaint she transferred my call to "Mr. Kent." When I began asking him the same questions - "who is the client that I supposedly owe this money to?" "do you know what Ms. Brown did was illegal?" he responded with "listen, this is how it's going to work. When I talk you close your lips." Think he's been watching too many movies. I did get both conversations taped. As well as a second call to Ms. Brown and "Mr. Kent" to inform them that I had taped their conversations and would be filing a complaint.

After further research (thanks to 800Notes) I found that this company has made many of these types of phone calls. The only way to stop them is by hitting them in the pocket. Please take the time to go to https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en and file a complaint against the company.

It doesn't matter if you owe the money or not, this company cannot call and make threats to try and intimidate you into payment. They cannot leave a message with anyone other than the debtor that indicates you have a debt. In fact, they can't communicate anything other than to identify themselves and ask for your current location information to someone other than you.

This company has been calling for a year about an old account from 2001. This company has not shown up on my credit report nor have I receive any letters stating I owe them. However, they did state my account was from Sprint. I have paid off this account with a different collection agency. When asked they told me they could not send me anything showing what I owe because they spoke to me last year and I acknowledge I owe. That is bull! I also asked for there address to mail them a certified letter requesting these documents and he beat around the bush and would not give it. I knew then this was a fraud and glad it is not on my credit report. I am glad to have found this site.

I've been getting calls from MELISSA MILLER from QAR (866) 778-0624 x212.  She called at home and now is calling at work.  It is a debt I owe and am dealing with through a debt consol company to resolve it.  She's rude, first of all and said they don't deal with such companies that what's gonna happen now is that I will be served papers at my home address and will be responsible for attorneys fees as well as double/triple the amount I owe.  Asked her to take me off her list and not call at work, she laughed at me and said it's not a "list" and she can notate it but she'll submit the papers for the legal action against me.

Today I get a call from KEN WILLARD, the office manager, what a jerk.. fast talker, just wanted to make sure he understood the conversation I had with Melissa, that I wasn't going to pay so they can get the paperwork off for legal action but beforehand, offered me 60% off of the dollar to settle out of court.  I told him I'm dealing with a debt consol company he interrupted me said they don't deal with them that their client is a multi million dollar company and they'd just rather sue and get 3 times the money from me.  I told him I asked Melissa to take my number off and to not call at work, again he interrupted me and said he really doesn't care if she notated not to call me at work I'm letting you know that we're submitting the paperwork for legal action against you.  So now you'll be responsible for attorney costs and triple the cost of the amount you owe to my client in a lawsuit which they'll put a lien on your home.. we'll call for employment verification and sue you so you have a nice day and hung up.

I phoned the person back, 'Mr. Palmer' who the answerer wanted to know his FIRST name! I didn't have it, 'he' didn't leave it. I called again, someone calls me..says his name is "Mr." Willard, he has NO first name? Anyhow, I submitted a letter to the attorney by certified mail in Dec 2008 to the attorney. NOW this guy tries to tell me THEY are the company. Makes no sense, they are harrassing my mom and are threatening me since I am disabled.

A month ago a guy by the name of Troy called me wanting to collect on a debt I have with a bank, of which I legitimately owe them but don't have anywhere the means to pay back the entire settlement they offered me, which was over $2000. While speaking to them I said that I would look into my finances and call them back, replying "there's no guarantee of you calling us back so call us back at the 5p tonight or we're going to recommend that the client sue you in court." I didn't end up calling them back because I don't have the means to pay back at all so I just thought that one day a subpoena was going to be in my mail eventually I guess. I actually was looking for some kind of court papers in the mail saying that I'm being sued everyday...

Last Friday (7/17) they called my work! Luckily I picked up and they were looking for me and said "we didn't receive a call you from when you said you would call... want to pay the settlement?" Funny because I thought that since I didn't call them back they were going to take my case to court? They also threatened to garnish my wages VIA court order because it's legal to do that in California... So I told them I would get back at them and they told me to call back @ 530p after work on Monday. After speaking to Troy I went on my lunch break and called my friend who is a collector as well and he told me to tell Troy and QAR not to call me at work and that by law they have to not call me once I tell them that verbally; I was started by them calling my work because it took me so long to find a job and I not going to let them make me look bad at work... I'm finally getting back on my feet.

Today (Mon, 7/20) I called them after work and they picked up saying "hello?" not QAR LLC, not a automated machine with the choice of directory or extension, no business introduction, just "hello?" I asked for Troy and told him my name, he pulled it up and as I was telling him to not call my work anymore or my dad's home phone he cut me off and said "we don't have to call your work anymore..." I told them that I can't pay and that I understand that your a business and that this is what you do but I can't pay so do what you need to do... they replied something like "You have employment and you can't pay? Tell that to the judge... Good Luck."

Not very professional, very pushy and definitely a shady, shady vibe from them... we'll see what happens =/

I have had two voice messaages from this company QAR at my place of employment. they are looking for somebody that doesn't work in my building. I called them back to let them know that this person doesn't work here. The one thing that bothered me most was the message that they left. My voice mail clearly states my name and not the person that they are looking for. The message was very rude and threatening. I've kept the message and will pass it to my law firm just for grins. The message stated that this person was to call them or the attorney call them with a case number. Number one they are calling Texas. Big problems there QAR. Do your research and read the laws for the stated that your are calling. It was a Mr. Evans at Ext:228

They called while I was on vacation. Left no less than 8 messages for someone I never heard of. Judging from comments seems like their scam artists. I've report them to FCC.

Especially in light of them saying they have my SSN. I have also been monitoring my credit reports through my bank to be sure as a precaution.

They never identified themselves other than I need to call back urgently. Sorry, not calling them back.

got a call tonite from a Mr.Evans. He said that his company, QAR had received one of my credit accounts and he was trying to settle the debt before they had to take further action. I listened and then told him that I was in a debt consolidation and would contact my agency in the morning to find out if they had settled yet and if any payments had been made. He seemed to agree. Then he started telling me that he was an account researcher hired by the credit card company and that they would see that my car payment was more than what I owed them and that they would use that against me??? Then he wanted my email and I said that I would rather not give it out and he got a little angry. He said that he showed I had bought a new cell phone and wanted to know why I didn't want him to send me an email so I could use the technology on the new phone??? I told him that I knew he was running a scam and to take me off his list. I hung up. Please don't let these people scare you. They do know alot of your personal info, I guess they buy it from companies, I don't know for sure but please don't let them scare you into anything. He gave me a phone number at one point to call him back if I wanted to take the settlement it was 866-778-0624 thanks

I have received two automated calls from this number asking for a person who does not reside at our address.  During the second automated call, I remained on the line to let the company know that the person they were calling for did not reside at our address.  The human attendant was rude and told me that I was lying!  I politely discontinued our call.

After a few hours and a little bit of research, I found the online posts for this phone number and company.  (Thank you for writing.)  During this time, I received a third call (2nd call of the day).  When I explained to the operator that the individual did not reside at our address, she apologized for the inconvenience.

After reading all of the online posts regarding this company, I was concerned that this call may become an issue.  Accordingly, I looked at their website (http://www.qar-inc.com/contacts.htm) and contacted the company to report their oversight (1-866-778-0624).  The person who answered the phone was very apologetic and assured me that she would remove my phone number immediately.  During this call, I reported the first attendant’s rudeness.  She apologized for their behavior.

I was worried about the repercussions associated with being contacted by this company.  They have my phone number and are linked with inappropriate collections and/or scams.  Accordingly, I contacted the Federal Trade Commission Consumer Response Center (1-877-382-4357) and filed a claim.  The FTC attendant directed me to write QAR and let them know that I wish to cease all communication with them.  I am communicating this directive to them via their “Contact Us” forum on their website.  After the written communication is received, QAR is only allowed contact me to confirm the receipt of this directive.  If they opt to continue contacting me, I could sue them.

Moreover, they violated the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act when they contacted me twice in one day.

CONSUMER WARNING!  This organization is a suspected criminal enterprise where debt collectors, high on drugs, posing as police officers are calling consumers with threats of arrest and seizure.  Do not fall for this Scam!    THEY ARE LIARS, THIEVES AND EXTORTIONISTS.

The point was to scare you into paying them for something you do not owe. They want you to react by giving them bank account or credit card info so they can steal your money. IT ALSO MEANS THEY DO NOT HAVE A VALID DEBT !

    ITS ILLEGAL TO DO THIS.

Called my phone number regarding a social security number for an acct/ref #3205430, and gave a name.  This person does not live at my address, is not associated with my phone number, nor have I ever heard of him/her.  I received two messages on my answering machine.  The third time I was home and picked up.  The person on the other end, when questioned about the company, said it was a private matter and would not give me any details about the company.  He said I should not receive any more calls from the company, which he identified only as QAR and the phone number of 866-778-0624.

AS apparently many others have experienced, repeated daily automated calls, despite being told that the individual they seek doesn't live here. And, an incredibly rude response from their phone technicians when I called to have my number removed from their call list.
