They used to call me every day 7:30 AM sometimes 8:30 PM and Saturdays. He was asking me personal questions and he told me it's for a financial institution. I told them I am not interested to make business with anybody and to stop calling me. He told me he wants to make sure that he is talking to the right person and he was asking for birthday- address how old I am. I asked him to give me some more information about himself (how old he is, where he lives what is his name). He refused. I told him that nobody is going to give him these kind of personal information by phone and to stop calling my phone number. He made threats that he is going to call me every day up to I will tell him all these information. The accent of the guy I am 99% it is Pakistani and I asked him why he use methods which terrorist are using to give us stress. I called him back and I asked him to give me his manager. He transferred the call to somebody else and I asked him why the threat the people. He told me this number it is his cell number and I have wrong number. After two days regular they start calling me again. Now,

Dear friend--I had a heart attack 8 years ago. My heart is working 29% and I take six different pills every day try to keep going without stress. Before this guy start calling me I was ok. Now my health is down because there is somebody bother me. He doesn't want to explain me what he wants from me because always I pay my bills. I have good name and the people respect me. I told Telus that he is harassing me everyday and they offered to me a new telephone number and privacy my number for free.
I can't understand how the business licence department let them to operate business harassing people. Even if I have any 10 years ticket in Toronto I never will give them any money to them expecting their receipt that it is paid.

This number calls me twice daily, first thing in the morning at approximately 7:20 AM when I'm in the shower and at some point in the evening. I don't answer calls from unknown numbers until they leave a message as I'm always suspecting scams/telemarketers but I eventually decided to call back expecting an automated system identifying the company to cure my curiourisity.  However, the message is from my phone company explaining 900 calls cannot be dialed from my cell phone.

It sounds to me like it's really just a fradulent company getting us on the phone to rack up their profits while we pay expensive line connections to this number.

However. I haven't answered it and the majority of complaints here list "fake collection company" so I'm inclined to be swayed that way.

I receive calls from this number every day, at least once, sometimes in the middle of the night.  When I answer to see who is on the other end, there is silence.  I don't know how to stop these calls.

They won't stop calling me!! And they keep saying they need to verify my birthday and I keep saying "Too bad, until you tell me what this is, I'm not verifying anything" and they keep saying "Fine. We will call back later."-- even when I tell them not to.

VERY abrasive and annoying

Have been calling since I got my new cellphone.  Most likely they are connected to something you have recently signed up for - maybe a new credit card, phone, a service you use for your phone, be careful that you do NOT answer their questions.  They are trying to collect personal information about you.  

I picked up for the first time this morning, the woman asked me my name, I answered, she then asked me to confirm date of birth.  I immediately asked her what this was in regards to but she kept asking me to confirm date of birth.  Again I ask her to tell what this is about and she tells me I have unpaid tickets.  I have not been driving for almost a decade and I have no unpaid tickets, I tell her this and get this, she asks me to stop yelling.  Lol I was not even close to yelling, I am merely asking her to tell me who is asking me for personal information at 7am. Then she tries to sound authoritative, and demands I tell her my date of birth lol she was a complete idiot. These people are trying to scare and agitate you, do not answer when they call and block their number if you can.

Called at 7:32 a.m.; Saturday, February 27th, 2010.  Lots of calls from this number in the past months for no discernible reason, but today's was the earliest.

I have been getting these types of calls for awhile now, it all started after being added to the No Call list. Before the list, got no calls, after, got a tonne. Very creative stuff being done on their part, creating alias numbers that don't actually exist (0000000, 9999999..., 11111) and now pretending to be a collection agency for the City of Toronto. I can just imagine what other tactics these criminals have tried, especially on those that are more vulnerable.

Before you decide to go paying for tickets that may or may not exist, check on the statutes of limitations. It may be alot easier just to pay off whomever but I'm tired of paying taxes and paying for the unionized workers that work in Toronto. When I get parking/traffic tickets I pay for them right away, unless of course I'm in the right so I see no point for paying for bloated governments more then I already do.

Phone call woke up the family at 7am - did not get to the phone in time - called back 800-801-1526 and could not quite undersand the Company name from the person on the phone - it sounded like "I call Canada" - when I asked why she was calling she asked me my birthdate and I repeatedly ased her why she woke up my family at 7am - them she hung up - what the heck is up with that?

I received a letter in the mail a few weeks ago stating that i owed $23.45 to the County of Northumberland for an offense from May 31, 2001.  The company Logo was Iqor.  I thought it was strange so I didn't bother responding to it, I mean, $23, serioulsy?  Take me to court...whatever.  Yesterday I received a call on my cell from this 8668011526, no msg left.  I decided to google it and found this site.  So not only are they calling people but they are also sending letters about this bogus collection!  How they got my address I have no clue, I just moved there in Dec.

When talking to frauds from IQOR (1-866-801-1526)                       THE LAST PART IS IMPORTANT

1. They will firstly ask you for your personal information such as: telephone number, name, address -

Solution - Never give out your personal information whatsoever!!!

2. If you complain with them over the phone they will either keep asking you for personal info or hang up.

Solution 1 - Piss them off

Solution 2 - If they hang up, just wait until they call back and ask them for their personal information such as address and name.

3. When you demand their name and address they will always give you a fake name and fake address. Usually they will give you an address of (255 Consumers Road, Scarborough). Of course this is a fake address despite the fact that it isn't even on the map when I checked.

Solution: Never believe their lies

4. When you request to speak with the supervisor they will either:

*tell you to hold then hang up

*tell you that it is required that you give them your personal information before speaking to the supervisor

*leave an answering machine asking for your personal info.....again

Solution 1 - Wait until they call back, when they call back tell them to hold then hang up

Solution 2 - Tell them that your not going to give them [***] and that you require their information before you give yours

Solution 3 - Give them a fake name and their own phone number.

5. If you call them back repeatedly, they will use a technique where a female picks up, then a male, then a female, then a male.... asking for your personal information. (Usually people with Indian accents will pick up or a woman with very good English skills will pick up)

The reason why IQOR calls people is because they demand money from people, but the question is why?

These frauds will scare you say that you owe them money for tickets that you have received from the police. What are these people thinking? The ONE AND ONLY place to pay your ticket from the past is at the "Drivers and Licences" office; at your local where you renew your sticker.

So don't worry about what they are saying, you don't own them crap.

IMPORTANT!!!!!

What really bothers me, is the fact that they know about people's driving records. How the hell did IQOR know about my driving record? Last week until today, they keep on calling saying that I had to pay from a ticket that was from 2002 or else my drivers license would be suspended.

Since people from the "Drivers and Licences" office keep our driving records, how did IQOR manage to get their hands on the driving records and bring it upon all of us?

Either someone from the "Drivers and Licences" office has been taking the driving records and giving it to IQOR or the records are not kept safe from intruders. This is something to think about.

The police and have the power to stop this problem, why aren't they doing anything by now?

Been receiving calls from this number once every couple of days for a couple weeks.
Whenever i answer, i get silence.  Glad I googled the number before calling it back.

Simple!  Tell them you've been blind from birth so how can you possibly have unpaid parking tickets!  Would love to know their response to that one!!  lol

I got this collection agency after me calling me every day. When I do speak with a representative, and its is important to know if it is a "representative" or an "agent", you question the validity of there claim. Do I have a contract with Iqor? Do they have a contract proving I do, with my signature on it?

Its important to get the full name of the caller. If they don't give it to you, then they are acting as agent provocateurs. You see, you are a human being and you cant do business with corporations because corp. have no power over a human being.

In the end, the only real resolution you have is to send a CONSTRUCTIVE NOTICE by registered mail, before you do, have it stamped WITNESSED by a notary public. Attach a bill to the notice for your time to construct it, and have the NOTICE state that you will only accept a Living Persons affidavit of truth, under a penalty of perjury.

I worked at night and this phone number keep calling me at 7 on the morning everyday, asking for someone name.  I asking them stop calling because they have the wrong person but this people are really rude and no manner.  They refused to listen and keep do it again.  If you have someone called from this phone number "DO NOT PICKUP THE PHONE OR GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION*

I have been getting calls from this number for almost a year now.  They call all times of the day and night.  Like all of you, the first time I answered they were trying to get personal info from me and told me that they were collecting on a traffic ticket from 13 years ago.  They would not give me any more info until I gave them the info they were asking me.  The caller would not give me his name or ID number.  He just said he worked for IQOR CANADA and was collecting on behalf of the city of Toronto.  I told him he must be mistaken.  After receiving more of these harassing calls I decided to call the Toronto Police (by the way I should mention that I don't even live in Toronto).  After explaining my situation to the Toronto Police they told me they could not do anything about it.  I still receive calls from them but I do not answer and they do not leave any messages.  I also checked with the BBBC and they don't have anything on this company either.  I would like to find out who has power over these companies.

someone probably got pissed and gave IQOR a random number and random name. unfortunately that person gave IQOR your number...

ICOR is a legit collection agency. ALL collection agencies are shady in how they try to get money from you. They buy batches of debts from a company (usually service providers, I know ICOR has contracts with BELL, Telus and Rogers) at far less than you actually owe said company and try to get the whole amount out of you, that's how they make a profit. It is business to them, they will say anything they need to to collect from you, but they still do need to follow certain laws. All collection agencies (except for a principal money lender. IE a bank you took a loan from) must stop calling you if requested, BUT the request must be written and sent to them, sometimes they are willing to take an email (not likely though). You must give them a valid mailing address as they still have the legal right to contact you through written correspondence.
