- JR| 36 repliesI didn’t answer, someone named Melissa gave an “agent number” but didn’t say where she was calling from. Informed me there had been urgent changes to my student loan account, it was time sensitive, and she would “extend my account until Friday” so I could call. Total [***], looked up the number, it’s some sleazy company advertising student loan forgiveness.

- Et replies to JR| 2 repliesYeah I just got that too. Asked what agency they work for and they said “a private company working with the department of education”
- JR replies to JR| 4 repliesI got a call like that this morning also from Melissa and called them back they hung up on me two times. I called them back to get a name and what company they work for and then he hung up on me again and said “I’m going to hang up on you again”. Is this a legit company you think or is it a scam? Lol awful service awful people.

- SM replies to JRYup, same thing just happened to me. Told the individual that I was still in school and my loans were still in deferment...I didn't need help. He told me to disregard the message and hung up on me.

- Lexi| 2 repliesJust got a call from an agent named Melissa as well about my student loan payment and that she extended the matter till this Friday. The voicemail didn't state the business they were with and I'm still in school so I know I don't have a repayment plan right now. Definitely a scam and I'll be calling my actual loaner later today to inform them about this.

- MelGlad I’m not the only one. I got the same message from Melissa. Her fingers must be sore from so much typing.

- rb replies to EtI also got the same call but when I told him I was not going to give them any information until they could answer my questions he hung up on me .
- Izzy| 1 replyI got the same message from Melissa with a reference number. I tried to call back to find out the company so I could report them but just got elevator music. Funny when the voice that gives you directions is the same voice as the “representative” that called you...
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- RSObviously a scam. I got this call, same language as others have noted, and I paid off my loans over a year ago.
- Tracey replies to JRYeah I got the same and so very rude and ignorant! Um no you don’t and have fun with that is what the 1st rep said and then I called back and asked for management and tried to explain what happened and I was told I’ll relate that to upper management and when I tried to finish explaining I was hung up on! I’ve blocked both numbers!
- Tygerkat replies to JROf course it's not a legit company. First of all, a legitimate company would identify themselves when they call and when you call them. Second of all, employees of a legitimate company wouldn't hang up on prospective customers when asked simple questions.
- Brenda replies to JR| 2 repliesSame everything to today. Didn’t answer or call back
