Same call today from Melissa!! Scam...

Just got a call this morning same exact wording extended till “Friday”

Same as above,glad I looked this number up.  Didn't answer or call back.

Had the same thing happen with a Melissa leaving this number and stating there were urgent changes to my student loan acct...she would extend til Friday no company name...just an agent number and left a reference# for me...I know who who my loan so I contacted the federal student loan service to verify if there was another party holding a loan I didnt know about and they didnt have anyone....think this is a scam...didnt call them back...but the federal student loan number is 800-433-3243

Same as others...Melissa called with urgent message about student loans, with a case number and everything.  The call came from 405-591-3855, they left a call back number of 866-861-5070.   Our student loans were paid years ago...

I am so mad at myself for falling for this scheme. Had to cancel my bank card and change all of my FAFSA information. DO NOT ANSWER, OR RETURN A CALL FROM, THIS NUMBER. IT IS FRAUD

The number they called me from was Jackson, WY 307-201-2261 and Melissa Spence Agent ID# 0136
said it was urgent changes to my student loan that she needed to talk to me about.  She went on to provide a reference number 25342 and she said to call 1-866-861-5070.
My student loans are fine. I am on auto pay and have been for years.  My payment is just right.
And if I can share, it took me a long time to get this back on track after trusting a company who claimed to be able to help students get enrolled in the Loan Forgiveness. They were a company out of Long Beach.  Needless to say, they got $900+ out of me, but I did get enrolled in the Loan Forgiveness program for one year.
Why did I trust this company and why did I agree to pay them. Well, my payments were closed to $300 at the time and I believed that I was eligible for the LF program, which I was. However my private loan servicing company
told me I did not qualify.  (I work in Public Service and have since 2003).
I end up with zero payments for one year, but one year later when I I had to renew, I discovered this company lied.
They fraudulently enrolled me into the program by listing people related to me as people I provide financial support to, but that is not what they told me when they asked me for my family members.  In the end, had they used my correct income and family size, my payments in the LF program would be higher than my income-based payment option.
So I am now enrolled in a program and my payments are $180.00 for a couple years and then they climb up a bit in 2 years and so on and so on.  However, I can always call back each year and enroll in a payment plan that best fits my budget.  That includes asking for a forbearance if need or deferment.

I got a call/voicemail from Melissa Spence calling about my student loans. Her agent ID is 0136. She said it was urgent and that she would extend my deadline until Friday. My number search led here. Number was 866-861-5070 from Twentynine Palms, CA. Left a reference number too. Did not mention the name of her company. Calling my student loans to double check my account now.

“Melissa” called me from phone # 16149833972 to speak about my student loans and that there were urgent changes to my account. Ive never taken out a loan! So see ya later Melissa!

I got a call left a voice mail saying there were changes to my student loan. They left the name Melissa and that I should call her back with a reference number. Did not answer or call back.

I was about to call them (Melissa Spence) asap this morning, then decided first to look up the number instead and saw so many comments on here about it...I was so sure it was legitimate...God, where do these people come from!!!

I just received the exact same message. I looked up the number and I found this message.

I just got a call from some weird 254 area code number and had a message from...you guessed it...Melissa, agent id #0136. She mentiones it being time sensitive but extending it until Friday. I called the 866 number she left....

1. A very snotty beeotch named Kim answered and was very belligerent. I asked if i could talk to someone who didn't have an attitude problem and she said, "yeah, call back" and hung up. So i called back...

2. Spoke to a guy named Steven, who asked if my loans were over $10K, then hung up on me while i was trying to explain that i just finished rehabilitating my loans and didn't need anything. So i called again...

3. Spoke to an unnamed male who asked if my loans were over $8K. I asked him not to hang up on me and proceeded to question why i was being called. He explained that i may qualify for income based loan forgiveness based on my income and household size. I told him that i know that i don't qualify, and that i have a loan company that i am satisfied with, then asked to be removed from their list. He said, "no problem", wished me a good day and hung up.

Very weird.....

Same as everyone else in here! I called back and wasn't even put in hold! Still in school so my loans are deferred! Total scam and the call came from MI!

I received the same call as described by many others. An "agent" named "Melissa" who works for no company identified key a voicemail. She said something about receiving and looking at my file. Also mentioned an extension until Friday. After pulling the number up here, and what I know about my own loans, this is obviously a scam that I will not waste anymore time with.

Exactly ad the test of listed calls. Melissa Spence left reference number said it was urgent and would leave open until Friday. Never said a company.

I also got a call from a Melissa badge number 0136 reference number 25342 .My call came from area code 574-999-7562. Went with my gut and just look the number up and saweveryone's post here. I hope other people don't get scammed. Remember to always go with your gut if you think something's fishy check it out!!!
