- Cpup replies to Shell| 16 replies"Sounded like a bogus collection agency" Maybe if u would pick up the phone and have some manners and return the call you would get all the info that u need 2 do an investigation! Hmmm bet you didnt think of that, since we are a public traded company we have a VALID WEB ADDRESS yes shocking isnt it! We can be found at www.portfoliorecovery.com we are also Fedarally Governed by FDCPA LAWS. All you have 2 do is call the number you were ask 2 call and make arrangements on the debt u forgot or couldnt pay or maybe even let us know we have the wrong number this can be simple its people like you that make it hard.
- Cpup replies to beej| 1 replyYea we do care who we reach and we are smart 2. Thats the scary part you see if the debtor did work at that tv station then someone would call and let us know that that person isnt there anymore because CURIOSITY ALWAYS KILLS THE CAT
- BULLDOG replies to ronnyHas the company called you? If you answered the phone and it is your debt but out of stat: BETTER CHECK THAT CBR. WE WILL BE THERE! STAT OR NO STAT
- pays my bills replies to US citizen| 2 repliesI just received a call from "WESLEY" to call this number, looking for someone I DON'T KNOW..but how did they get MY number?? So what exactly is the name and purpose of this company? My credit rating is up in the high 800's. I learned early on that you buy something you pay for it. Simple enough, right?? So why is this company looking for someone I DON'T KNOW and where did MY telephone number come into play here??
- aj replies to DOUHAVEMORALS| 5 repliesI understand what you are speaking about. But it's really is hard to work with collection agencies, I know I have tried various times to, and they want so much down to start a payment process with them. All the time the want at least half down. That is the problem the agencies I've tried to work with want 300-500 dollars down before they will work with me. That's a lot when you've got laid off. Anyhow, this number 866-909-0529 is the first I've seen and not my collector. The fact is I just moved out of state 1 week ago, 1500 miles away from the other state. I just turned my home phone on the other day, and it is not even under my name. I think it's just a crazy solictate call. I will be putting my # on the do not call list.
- HELLO!!! replies to Cpup| 1 replyWell then next time do your job and leave a correct message instead of saying "this is a personal call". Leave what company you are from and your intention of the call, did you not know how to leave a message correctly? Because no one in the right mind is going to return a call that they have no clue what company is calling for them and what they need to talk about.
- pay your bill replies to pays my bills| 1 replyWhy don't you call and find out? That is the only way that you wilol know what is going on
- I'll help you replies to aj| 3 repliesHave you even tried to call and talk about the debt or are you just assuming that the debtor will not work with you since no one else has? And BTW, being on the do not call list won't help you stop the calls, that is only for solicitors, not debt collectors. Regardless of what most people think, most of the people who work for this co will try to help you if you are willing to try to take care of your debt. We are not all bad people and some of us do have hearts and understand that times are tough and we will help you if you let us instead of hanging up in our faces or cursing us out
- duh replies to ticked offpick up the phone and say "you have the wrong #", ever tried that one?
- some-of-us-already-have replies to pay your billDon't be such a douche. I just got one of these calls for a debt I had already paid.
- Rudeness replies to Debbie Q.| 1 replyLol. You know them so well because yo broke butt doesnt say their bills. Get a life. Why you complain on the other end cursing and screaming you could've gotten up got a job and said it. Why do they care if you are mad, they are getting paid to call you and get cursed out. My family member recieved a letter at her job saying that if she didnt pay that she would be in court she called and settled it.

- donIve got two calls from them they seem to be fishing for past due accounts but have no idea where the person they are looking for is. So if you have the same name as someone they are looking for they will call hopeing you are that person.
- otoesstarI asked them not to call anymore, lets see if it really happens. The person they are looking for hasnt lived here in 25 years. Dont know how they got my number.
- tc replies to Cpupso maybe we should stop leaving calls at a number that doesnt even relate to the person you are calling........my ex-husband. Why would I call you back?
- Bill replies to angel| 1 replyHello, RE: 866-909-0529
This firm called my ex-wife's ex-husband, (different last name) who I was divorced from in 1983. This is 2008. So they are skip tracing back that far to harass. In their skip trace process, they are informing every past connection I have for the last 25 years or further back that I am a deadbeat, even though I may be behind, I am in a tough industry right now for the loan and housing bust, and not a deadbeat. It seems this must break a privacy law or something. - Alfalfa replies to BillSure, it does. They have violated Section 805 of the FDCPA by discussing your debt with third parties:
§ 805. Communication in connection with debt collection [15 USC 1692c]
b) COMMUNICATION WITH THIRD PARTIES. Except as provided in section 804, without the prior consent of the consumer given directly to the debt collector, or the express permission of a court of competent jurisdiction, or as reasonably necessary to effectuate a postjudgment judicial remedy, a debt collector may not communicate, in connection with the collection of any debt, with any person other than a consumer, his attorney, a consumer reporting agency if otherwise permitted by law, the creditor, the attorney of the creditor, or the attorney of the debt collector.

- Marty replies to MISSYDebt Collectors quit trolling!! We know where you work
- Marty - USAG replies to NO CHILDS PLAYQuote "look i don't care if this debt is 75 years old an the debtor is about ready to pass away we are still going to collect on the debt an if you simply refuse to pay we'll just send the debtor a (1099c) meaning we have notified the IRS that u have contiuniously refused to pay the debt an have tured us down from all settlements then we send u.SO a 1099c is sent out to the debtor meaning that the IRS is notified about the orignal balance an that you are to claim this debt as earned income for the years an have to pay the taxes on it cause you orginally signed a contract obligating to pay this debt back with all the fees that come with this account not just the intrest rate but even the hidden charges witch i agree with both the collector stand point an debtors stand point them hidden charges are highway robbery but beside the point just pay your bills peolpe we all have to pay bills weather we like it or not hell if you don't feel you owe the full balance of what we have on the accoutn try to settle the account with us we are willing to work with ya'll on these account but you can hang up when we get you on the phone cause we told you the account is $2500.00 on a card the was orignally $750.00 cause like i said most of the account is intrest an hidden fees that we don't read in the fine print on the contract.... so if the account is $2500.00 an the card was only $750.00 then tell us that you only feel you owe $1200.00 on the accoutn insted of h/u just for us to call you back the very next day to have to go thru the same thing again....so people just pay your bills an go on about life"
