The number on my caller ID is 702-410-7489. Caller says, Is Denise home? (Like he knows me.) People calling for a "business" purpose use last names but nooooo, they drop the last name to try to get you to you you're you. BEWARE!!  I took the message and they left the 866-909-0529 number. If I had a job, I would pay. I am not working right now and my rent is $1145 per month. That comes first!

BTW -- The term is; "statute" of limitations (with a T) -- not statue of limitations.  SMH!!

I don't want a call any more from this number

Got a v/m at my office from a female voice purporting to be 'Tammy', that this is a personal call, and to call her at 866-909-0529. Not gonna do it: no identifying company, no identifying issue, no details whatsoever.

Portfolio has been trying to collect on an alleged debt, for over 12 years.
The statute runs out at three years, in the state it was originated in the
statute is only two years. Either way, they are violating Fair Debt Collections law.
Educate yourselves on the laws and protect yourselves from these companies looking to take advantage. Oh and never admit the debt is yours because it extends the statute. You can stop the calls too, get their fax number and address, fax a letter telling them they are to only correspond in writing regarding the alleged debt and then send the letter certified return receipt. The calls stop, it does work, because if they don't, you can sue them for violating Fair Debt Collection Practices and then they owe you money.
Write the letter, send it, its worth a few minutes and a few bucks to get your piece of mind back. You then have the power, not them, you can handle it on your terms then and not be threatened by whoever catches you off guard on the phone.

Spoken like a true debt collector.   If they were as nice as you and did not try to threaten to have you arrested etc.  It would not be a problem to talk to one of these frequent callers to ask for help.  I have asked, been nice and tried to work out a re-payment plan but noooooo.. they want it now and ask when you will be able to send the full balance.  Don't call me acting like an investigator who works for a law firm.  It is a scam and not appreciated.  The collection agencies dig their own grave when they get no results.  All they lead you to is bankruptcy.

Using harassment is why the federal government, the state attorneys office, and the local government of your state of operation (last I heard Virginia) have your company under investigation for criminal activity, and violating federal law. I'd start looking for a new job........

Come on Portfolio, call me one more time so that I may sue you. I have papers here ready to be filed if you so much as call me or a relative even ONE more time. I have so many documented violations against you that it will take up much court time to read them all off.
Hope you have deep pockets to pay your attorney bill on top of what I will be awarded.

these people just called my fiance's step mother at her house looking for me.....I can tell you right now I owe them nothing, my financial advisor at college sat down with me and we went through every inch of my credit report and all my debt....they never even bothered to call me. if they call again Im taking your advice Educated Consumer and writing my letter, its not my debt and they have no right to hassle my family without even trying to get ahold of me

Screw you... This is not intended as a site for people dodging their responsibilities, rather it FOR those who are being harassed by the debt collectors, solicitors, scammers and just plan bad people.  Those who are dodging would waste their time looking up a number when they already know who is "chasing" them.

The intention of sites like these are for people who are wondering why they are being called from these unknown companies and persons.  I get called quite frequently and I have no outstanding debts.  I would just like to know why I'm being called.  

These debt collectors are jerks... Plain and simple. ANYONE in that industry should quit and find another career.  They don't help nor do they want to.  They feel in their own little world that they have some sort of power and they do what they can to exert that power upon people, namely the debtors but anyone who gives actually talks to them.  Even that the know, I'm not the person they are looking for they still call and call not believing me and attempt cursory threats to collect ANY WAY THEY CAN.

Because of this we can now all thank them for spawning the new industry of the scam.  I feel sorry for those who may be in the debt position because when they try to get back on their feet, chances are they'll end up paying some scammers or accidentally give out information which is sold to other scammers and a cycle will begin for them.

Screw you and your "mightier than thou" attitude of "pay your bills... You signed for it..." Certainly not all people who may be in debt got there merely to get away with something... People can fall on hard times and these collectors couldn't be making things better for them.  I think most educated persons know that even the most trustworthy of "Collections Agencies" are still poorly run, without moral fiber and corrupt in the name of THIER profit.  Not simply to get the creditor their monies due but profit for them at any cost.

It's interesting that we're being called by a debt collection company when my husband has never paid a bill late in his life. He's never been to collections for anything. And, they had his name wrong. Of course, the woman refused to say anything to me. I'm not sure he should even call her back based on those two items.

The caller said I owed a Capital One Card Visa bill from 2013, I filled Bankruptcy on it , they said not this one. Frist caller said $2000 and the 2nd said $8000 W.T.F. ? mine was $800 at the time I filled !
