You are a moron for two reasons:
    1. "Haft" is not a word. Go back to school.
    2. If you are contacted by someone with an unfamiliar phone number, you should be suspicious. When they ask for personal information such as the last 4 digits of your social, you should hang up!

    No, it's a scam.

I contacted the number on the back of my card after I received this phone call.

My accounts are in good standing and the CSR said this number is not associated with Capital One.

ALWAYS call the number on the back of your card to verify this.
DO NOT give out your 16 digit account number, DOB or SSN just because someone calls and asks for it.

Please report this number to the FCC and abuse@capitalone.com
    Common sense!

    haft
    haft/
    noun
    1.
the handle of a knife, ax, or spear.
synonyms:    handle, shaft, hilt, butt, stock, grip, handgrip, helve, shank
"gripping the haft of the knife"
    verb
verb: haft; 3rd person present: hafts; past tense: hafted; past participle: hafted; gerund or present participle: hafting
    1.
provide (a blade, ax head, or spearhead) with a haft.

As you can see, haft IS a word so I would be careful about slinging the word "moron" to much because right now it appears to pertain to you.

In the context that you have given the definition, then perhaps that would be the correct word to use.  In the context of the way the word was actually used, along with the atrocious spelling and sentence structure, she was right in calling that shill a moron.  If that is the quality of the people debt collectors are hiring then it is no wonder that people have such a poor opinion of them and that they are constantly using illegal tactics to collect debts.  It is because the employees are unable to read and comprehend the laws.  The problem is that the poster knew that there were multiple spelling errors, but failed to correct them, even though it could have easily been done with the spell check that points out the offending words and gives the correct spelling for them.  This means he was either too lazy, or too stupid to use it, or possibly both which would have been my guess.

So in this case, your sarcastic remark was neither deserved or called for.  So perhaps we should apply the word "moron" to you now?

If one is going to make spelling and grammar corrections, one needs to ensure one's own posts are without error.

    too vs to

I leave it up to you to figure out which occurrence of "to" was incorrect.

You guys have to chill out. I got the calls. Yes, they're annoying. Yes, I missed a payment.

They already had my payment info that I had given through a phone call to the number on the back of my card a few months back. The person on the line with me scheduled the payment efficiently. When we were done, I received an email from Capital One with confirmation of the payment. I signed into my account online (after a lot of trial and error; I had forgotten my username, which was why I had to call) and the payment is shown as pending from tonight.

Received the same message from Linda.  I did call the next day.  Mario (with an Indian accent) said he was with Capital One.  He would not give me any information about identity unless I gave him my account number.  I declined and hung up.

Getting calls daily at my place of work. It's just the tail end where they give this number to call back to discuss further, like the recording started well before I pick up. It's every day, sometimes twice a day and I'm told it's been going on for years - a definite scam.

I have been getting this almost daily at my work number also.  I checked online that all was good with Capital One.  Then I called. True to form first thing they wanted was my full name.  Then, they wanted my social security number.  When I would not give that to them, they wanted my card numbers.  When I wouldn't give them that they kept pushing for my SSN.  Since I knew this was a scam I told them since they left no legitimate information on the voicemail, and I got no emails from Capital One I wasn't giving them any information.  So, they hung up on me.  I am hoping they stop leaving voicemails on my work number.

call the number on the Capital One website for customer service and report this if you are worried.  I would bet that Cap One already knows about this old scam.  Would be nice if they emailed their customers to let them know this was happening (again).

I agree with you there. People need to realize that the numbers that appear on caller id are often spoofed and they should not assumed the call is legitimate.

Been getting calls once a day from (800) 955-6000 for that last couple days. I didn't suspect anything since I missed payment for my last bill and figured it was about that. The message being left had the beginning cut off so I assumed it was just starting to play before my voice mail started recording.
I called the number left on the message; 1(866) 953-7906 and spoke to a woman who asked for my name, which I gave. Then she asked for my Full card number which set off every red flag in my mind. I asked her why she needed the full number and she said they needed that or my full social security number to look up my account information. At this point I hung up.

DONT BE FOOLED There is no reason capital one would need that kind of full information just to look up my account. They would only ask for the last 4 digits of either my card or SS number.
    THIS IS A SCAM

They called me today 12/27, note its a SATURDAY from a woman named linda, i called it back after reading these reviews to screw with them as soon as they answered the phone i was asked for my full card number. i said you do not work for capital one who do you work for, and after she repeated i work for capital one, thats who's on my work check several times she transfered me to her "account manager" who then told me i was on a recorded line and asked for my full name and card number. I asked her the same question of "who do you work for, i know it is not capital one" and after she said capital one, youre on a recorded line may i have your full name and card number. I then told her she is a scammer and hung up

Number came up as unknown on my voicemail, but linda left a voice mail with the number.
