- Caller: Capital one
- JeanneI do not have a capital one card and I have gotten this voicemail on my phone 3 times this weeK from Linda. I will not return call. Thanks for the scam info.
- Caller: capital one
- LtWe are receiving calls from "Linda" also.I do have a capital one account and it is in good standing. The number on caller id does not match the number left by "Linda" which is a recording. Be careful, do not answer, that only lets them know it is a working number they called and you will get more calls. We are also receiving calls from ourselves, our name and number show up on caller id.They are just scams. The best advice I can offer is just don't answer. I am considering recording the message you get when you dial a number incorrect, beeep, the number you have dialed is not a working number, please check the number and try your call again, and setting that as my answering message. That might stop the scammers from calling but anyone who knew us would know that is our message.

- SEIDAHave been getting calls every day for the past 3 days from Linda from Capitol One Bank. Each day it is for a different reason but very similar... regarding important account information, regarding credit, etc.
THIS IS A SCAM. Please don't give them any information.- Caller: "Capitol One bank"
- Call type: Telemarketer
- JackDitto, I got a recorded voicemail with this number wanting me to call for more information.
- anonymousRobocall left on my machine: "Hi this is Linda. We would like to discuss solutions regarding an important business matter with CapitalOne. Please call us back today at 1-866-953-7906 to discuss it further. Again the number is 1-866-953-7906. Thank you." Contacted capitalone and they said if 866-953-7906 isn't on their website contact pages, then it's not a capitalone number. Couldn't find 866-953-7906 on capitalone.com so this is a scam call. I think this scam works on you believing you've been called by the real capitalone (and you have not), you call 866-953-7906 back (and you should not), they ask you for an account number to look up what the important business matter is all about, then they ask you for personal info to verify that you are the legit owner of the account number you just gave them. Don't fall for it or the scammers will steal your money and possibly your ID, and unless you're a very important client, capitalone will likely not replace your stolen money. Why not? Because you, not capitalone, were negligent in volunteering your data to a scammer. Ain't capitalone's fault.

- JenToday I recieved several calls in a short window of time from 800-955-6600 and was left a voicemail by the infamous "Linda" stating that she was calling from capital one and that basically my account wasn't in good standing. The callback number she gave was 866-953-7906. I do have a capital one account, but I was sure it was in good standing. I checked online and my next bill isn't due until April and my balance is only $25 with no unusual activity. I knew right away this was a scam and that my instincts had been right. I contacted capital one and also reported this activity and also blocked both numbers. Please make sure to call the number on the back of your card and not "Linda." And also, some people are pointing out that it did turn out they had a late payment, so it must be a legit call. Its not (confirm with capital one) and it's likely just a convienient coincidence on their part. Be careful!

- BigPacSo I've gotten 3 calls on my office phone from "Linda at Capital One" 2 were on a Sunday and 1 yesterday after hours. I have an acct but is in good standing and they do not have this number as a contact for me as I just started this job. Question for the people that have answered the call or called the number back, after they get frustrated and hang up on you, have you continued to receive calls?
Makes me want to give them some phony info when they ask for SSN give them 123-45-6789 or something... If they realize they wont get any info from me, do the stop callng?- Caller: "Linda" from "CApital one

- CC replies to BigA| 5 repliesYou go Ben!!!
- CCI received a phone call from "Linda" every day for 6 days. I was having difficulties with my cell phone and did not know I had messages until 3 days after the 6th day. I checked the back of my card, and called that number. The person who actually worked for Capital One, verified my suspicions. My account was perfectly fine, no late payments, NO phone calls from them, and said that I was not the only person who was being targeted, they had had numerous calls from their cardholders with questions and concerns.
So DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER BACK. IT IS IN FACT A SCAM!!! - BigA replies to CC| 4 repliesOnly took you 6 months to come up with that very lame remark. Well guess I can wait another 6 months for your next reply. Probably take you that long to figure out what I just said.
- lc replies to BigA| 3 repliesAnd you have become the biggest mouth, know it all jerk on this forum. Others feel the same way because I have read their posts too. You need to take a break and act more civil.
- BigA replies to lcWhat you posted as CC before, did your single brain cell pass gas and you forgot what you were calling yourself. I will take a break when criminals and scumbags like yourself stop stealing from people and taking advantage of the elderly.
- Bog replies to lcCalling somebody a jerk is not being civil.
- BigA replies to lcBut let me not forget my manners, I want to thank you for the compliment. After all, when lowlifes such as yourself condemn me that means that I am doing a good job informing people and cutting into your cash stream.
- tp replies to Tamara L.That is exactly what I get.
