Caller left multiple long-winded harrassing messages on my machine regarding a legal claim against me. They also left similar messages on machines of relatives. I sincerely do not appreciate these tactics and will simply await my day in court.

A relative called me in regards to a person saying they were from Legal Action Recovery, with some infamous case number, and said there would be legal action against me.  Thanks everyone for replying in regards to this scheme.  I have looked at my credit report recently, and have no outstanding debts.  This is a scam!!!!!

Thanks Silencer.  I am sending the letter for validation tomorrow.  These are really dirty tactics.

an "investigator" named noelle lucas called my parents. told them there was a civil case pending against me.  the only information she gave was her name, the case # and she was calling from Georgia.  I looked into this and found the adess on another web sight

They called, I got more info from the FTC, FBI and the Attorney General of Georgia. They are a scam! Call the FTC ASAP at 8773824357 and the Attorney General at 4046563300 they need your information!

We had the same thing starting in Febuary. I was not able to find them on the internet then. I am in the mist of talking with a attorney to see what actions can be taken. This is rude and a violation of FDCPA. There is still not much information on this company so it might be new and they may not have enough money to pay law suits. We will see! :)

Thanks, Mom (this really is my mom).  They called my brother first.  I don't know how they found him, since we haven't lived together since we both moved out of our parents' house.  They scared him pretty good with the message they left, but he caught on pretty quick.  He basically denied knowing me.  They made some idle threats about me going to jail, taking him to jail for not cooperating, etc... he eventually told them not to contact him anymore about this and hung up.

He alerted me to the call, and I found this site.  I immediately called my mom and grandparents (pretty much anyone I could think of that has a land line, since that's how they seem to be calling).  By the time my mom got home, she had a message on her answering machine waiting for her.  She ignored it but they called her back, and well, you can see the rest above.  

I have filed complaints with the TX AG and with the FTC.

Not only did I find these jokers on my answering machine today they also called a neighbor in my condo building and asked them to get a message to me to call "Jason McLean, Special Investigator at 877-209-5454, ext 110", the same person and call back number left on my answering machine.  Scumbags.

Contacted my son told him I was being sued in a civil suit.

I just rec'd two messages from them- but they said their name was Investigator-Nicholas Maurol from the 'Offices of Legal Action' 877-209-5454. The called on my answering machine first-lengthly and harrassing-for me (under my maiden name) and my husband stating there was a civil complaint beig filed. As I was listening to the message to get the number, they called right back!! I spoke to Nicholas to try to figure out what he was talking about...he just said there is a civil complaint in (another) county...I started asking for their address, their practice license number to practice in Florida and he transferred me to 'Mr Bradley'. Mr. Bradley would NOT give me information (His full name, who was filing the complaint, what its regarding *so if an attorney is needed, we knew which type of practice* nor their address or practice license number) He started to argue with me and threatened to get the sheriff's office to issue an arrest warrant at our door if my husband did not call back. Again I asked for more information than just 'a civil compliant' that he was offering and he hung up on me! I'm furious! Thank goodness I looked up the number because Google did not find the company they stated they represented 'The Offices of Legal Action in Georgia'. Thank you all for the information. I'm still consulting an attorney and contacting the county court to find out if anything is filed. I believe this came from Portfolio Recovery Associates because I sent them two certified letters *just received the return receipt today!* disputing the debt in a 'Cease and Desist' letter based off the Fair Debt Collections Act (FDCPA) policies. Glad to know they are garbage (already expected because of the treatment and lack of professionalism) and after talking to a friend attorney- he said it's garbage to and advised we look into the county to find out if anything is there so we can either send a 'Debt Validation' letter and/or hire an attorney to SUE THEM for harrassing and violating the Fair Debt Collections Act (FDCPA) policies! I will be filing a compliant with the State Attorney General's in FL and GA, the Fair Trade Commission (FTC) and the Better Business Bureau. Good luck everyone!

Yeah, I got one of these calls to from investigator Jacob Roberts. He called my mother and my brother and my wife, everyone but me. Told everyone that I was being summoned to court and made sound like I was going to be arrested if I didn't call back. My mother called me and gave me all the information from them. They told her everything (what if they had got a wrong #?). I called and got the same scare tactics, but after several phone calls I finally got their address so I sent certified letters with return receipts. One was a cease of communication order except by written form with me, the other was a request for all information pertaining to this supposed debit including original contracts and doc. plus all info on how the debit was figured money wise. The letters came back today. They would not sign for them, but from what they had said on the phone it was a credit card from like 7 years ago which I'm not sure about. I have slept since then, but doing some research Texas has a 4 year statute of limitations on credit card debt so I think that there just a scare tactic type place, but I'm resending the cease communication letter and faxing it anyway.

They called and claimed that I owed past credit card charges of over $8,000 and threatened us with a lawsuit. Unfortunately we got concerned and gave in to their request. later to find out that it was a scam and the credit charges which were done over 10 years ago was settled with the bank.
These people are crooks. My bank is taking up the case and hopefully get them to refund my money. I have also contacted a lawyer and will try to get information to the FBI. They use three company names in their transactions:
1. Legal Action recovery (18772095454)
2. Peter Keller & Associates (They normally claim this as their client)
3. CMP Processing (they use this to withdraw funds and do financial transaction)

This company called family members claiming a criminal case against me to call this number. I had just had surgery the day before. They told me they represented an attorney Goldstien and I had defrauded a financial institution MBNA credit company by not paying my bill in1996 after filing bankruptcy which later was dismissed ,they got me so upset my blood pressure skyrocked to numbers that couldn't be lowed by my medication and i became very sick that night we asked repeatedly to speak to their attorney which they could not produce. I believe a class action suit of all their victims would should them up for good, and they should be turned over for breaking the law that protects consumers from this kind of harassment. I plan on sending a copy of this to an attorney in Georgia and on to the consumer protection agency and the attorney general of georgia please all persons who have been victims of this collection technique I encourage you to do the same. I was threatened with a summons that would be served on me June 5 we from a federal court we checked the computer for suits that had been filed and there was none to be found. I plan on following this to the end if they do have an attorney behind this he better get ready to answer questionable practices for debt recovery solicitation.
