these jokers called me claiming federal and criminal proceedings were being taken against me they say they represented attorney goldstien. we checked for cases on file in our county none could be found. they got me so upset my blood pressure could not be controlled by my medication. all those who have been threatened by this company should file a class action law suit and report them to the attorney general of georgia. they have also called family and worried them with lies. they are trying to collect old debt from 12 years ago that was wrote off by the cc company.

Jan Wise, wow... That same company has called me twice over the past couple of days issuing the very same threats they've been giving you, verbatim. They threatened to arrest my husband for "defrauding a financial institution" (like you, over a credit card debt from 1996. They first claimed it had remained "open" through 2008, then claimed 2002- Seems they can't keep their lies straight) if he didn't call Andrea Fitzpatrick within 48 hours. Like you, it scared the daylights out of me yet it seemed very 'scammish' to me. So what did I do? I called my mother, LOL. Yes, I called my mommy to see what she would do. On her recommendation, I googled the number. Lo and behold, it seems these people are calling everyone using very similar if not the exact same scare tactics.

I've reported them to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) (877)382-4357 and will be reporting them to other appropriate agencies very soon.

They called my Mom back in Nov 2008 threatening to sue her & that there was a complaint in her name in our county. She had just bought a house so they were trying to tell her that they could take her house away from her & sue her for everything if she did not pay them right away. My Mom was in a panic so I called a lawyer & he told her that it was something that cannot be done & to just hang up the phone. Since then they still try to call every once in a while, so if they were serious why didn't they file the complaint that they theatened to do back in Nov. We have also recieved nothing in the mail & the only thing I can figure is it must be something that is several years old & is about to fall of her credit report so they are trying at a last attempt to get something before it does. I say don't answer the phone if you see this number & just ignore it.

I just received my first phone call today from a Nicolas Moore of "THE OFFICIES OF LEGAL ACTION SERVICES".  So, based on all my readings they are putting a twist on their name again.

I like the idea of sending a "LETTER OF DEBT VERIFICATION" via certified mail.  Does anyone have an example of one that they sent or where to get one?  Thanks for any help that anyone can be, because I don't have the funds for an attorney.

Also, did anyone get a response from their letter of debt verification?

I have been getting harrassed by callers from this number for weeks now.  I am convinced it is a scam as they want money to settle some issue they cannot substantiate.  i feel bad for people who are vulnerable and succumb to the fear and pay them.

I have been received calls to my mother's house and my father's from this number as well.  Weird, because - why don't they call me, I'm not hiding.  My poor parents are freaking out. I listened to the message they left my dad, the supposed investigator rattled off a case number, 1st it stated that charges have been filed against me (for what I'm not sure) in my county and then that I was a respondent (aren't those contradictory?). I have access to the county civil/criminal court searches. I looked up my name, and nothing has been filed in either civil or criminal court in my county. I'm glad other people have responded or else I'd still be trying to figure out what's going on.

I received a call at my mother's house and my father's house from this number. A supposed investigator called and left a message and rattled off some cause number and is trying to settle a debt against me or has charges that have been filed against me in my county then states that I am a respondent (isn't that a contradictory statement?). I looked up a criminal and civil search for my name in my county and nothing has been filed. I'm glad others have responded about this obvious scam!!  I think they call our family members to use as a scare tactic.  Why don't they just call me, I'm not hiding.  My poor parents are all freaked out.  I saw on another website that we need to file a complaint with our Attorney General.

Hi, everyone!  The collection agency, Legal Action Recovery, is not a collection agency at all.  They are nothing but a fraudulent company that collects money from people illegally and then runs when the law is out to find them.  I had a lawyer's firm, Krohn & Moss, Ltd. in Los Angeles, California go after them, and they sent one of their guys to this Legal Action Recovery's business address.  Guess what?  No one was there.  I reported Legal Action Recovery to the FBI in Atlanta, Georgia, the Federal Trade Commission in Atlanta, Georgia, and to the Better Business Bureau in Atlanta, Georgia.  No one can find them, and no one has heard from them.  I am about to send a letter about this to the FBI in Washington, DC.  I do not know how they got ahold of my credit card account from over ten years ago, but they were determined to get me to pay it by threatening me by saying that they were going to call the Sheriff's Department in my county to come and summons me to court if I did not start paying on this account.  If I would have paid them, they would not have paid my credit card company, they would have gotten a way with a whole lot of money, packed up, and run.  Do not believe ANYTHING they tell you because they are fraudulent liars.

I just called them and they told me they could take me to court and put a judgement on me and put a block on my SS check.  They said the letter they sent with "their" numbers on it was all the verification I needed.  The have the authority through the Federal Recovery Program and they don't need to send papers out.
Told them to go ahead and take me to court and do what they had to do.

Same thing happened to me. June 1st I got a call addressed to me under my maiden name "This is Officer Roland Shepherd and I am the assigned investigator for a civil case that is being filed in Brazoria County against you. You have 48 hrs to respond or your case will be filed with the Brazoria County Court". I ignored it. Then today, June 18th... 18 days later. I get the same [***] leaving another message with a 48 hour notice. He threw in "Good Luck". But this time he called a relative scaring her into giving him my husbands full name and thus my married name. I have some charged off small credit cards from at least ten years ago so I am sure that is what it is. I have no plans on calling as this would just fuel the fire. They have never contacted me by regular mail. Seems like they also switched their legal name around as a scare tactic. They claim to represent the Office of Legal Action calling himself and Officer and an Investigator... Googled the phone number and found LOTS of similar complaints. Has anyone actually been served with a Civil Case or Sued?

I am very happy to have found this site. I have filed a complaint with the FTC and will continue with the FBI and Attorney General. I am also sending a letter of Cease and Desist and Debt Validation Letter. I recommend EVERYONE file complaints. These guys are vultures!

These thugs called my Mother telling her that my husband owe a lot of money from a past debt. He cleared this debt up 12 years ago. They told her that if my husband did not call them, he would be sued in civil court. I found this cease and desist letter from another web site. We plan on sending this letter to them plus reporting them to the FBI and FTC.
Also, I like the idea of asking for a Debt Validation Letter/Request letter from them.

I have 2 phone lines in the house, one which i never use, but get lots of junk calls on. Got lots of messages, though, including at least 4 from these guys(never mentioned who they were) just this month. Seems Investigator Jacob Roberts was calling to make notification of a court-ordered summons. Said to contact him directly @ 1-877-209-5454,ext.107.
If contact was not made it would cause more court actions to be filed. They called my mother and asked her if she just wanted to pay the $5,000 off,you know, just to get it taken care of.

Well, she thought that was hilarious.

You found this site because you were suspicous. Now you know you were right to google the #.
