- papaparent replies to goofIn missouri you do..i have 2 employees right now with medical garnishments from the Sisters of Mercy
- steve replies to Ashley| 9 repliesno. just file bankruptsy on them all and that will stop that crap. PLUS IF YOU RECORD TO TELL THEM TO STOP CALLING AND MAKE NO FURTHER ATTEMPT TO CONTACT YOU AND THEY DO UNDER FEDERAL LAW YOU CAN "SUE EM BIG". were no idiot. we know you work for a collection agency!!!
- jackarseTo all. I have had calls from them because I fell behind in payments to St. Johns. But they have always been polite and easy to work with. Yes the calls can be annoying if you never talk to the people. But for the few who say" they don't owe any money to them or never been to St. Johns". Your the biggest fools for not checking it out. Someone could be be using your information for IDENTITY THEFT. Medical records and information is one the most exploited thefts in this country but you never hear about it. Prepaid legal informed me of this when I had a Identity theft issue. So be active and find out what is going on!!!

- ooh yeah replies to goofoh you sure do!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- themightycain replies to goofI'm being garnished right now for hospital bills.
- SandprintsI spoke to one of the Social Security male caseworker as I went in person back in 2010 & what the male caseworker explained to me & my daughter, no Social Security benefits can be garnished under federal law, if you get a garnishment letter/document then you are to call Social Security & they will get you to the right department or call an Attorney/ a Lawyer ASAP if you can't speak to someone at Social Security about this type of matter or they won't talk to you! As for Hospitals/Medical/Drs, they can garnish your wages, but, not the Social Security benefits! Now, say for example: if you get SSA & you have a part time job, the can garnish the wages from your job paycheck, but, not from your SSA. That's what caseworker explained to me & my daughter. And yes it's under FTC as well. He made it very clear that if we got any type of letters/documents or garnishments that we were to contact Social Security or an Attorney/a Lawyer ASAP& not to put it off!!!! He said it wouldn't be Social Security themselves suing or garnishing people's Social Security benefits & that they have strict guidlines to follow, if those guidelines are not followed then whoever set up the garnishments or letters/documents can be in serious trouble under Federal Law....

- memoi just got a call from this number too. they were rude and didn't explain what they wanted. I told them the person they were looking for didn't have this number anymore but they kept pushing. make them stop callling.
- Bryna BoldraI am sick of getting these calls from this number when I have not done any business with Valarity at all! All of our bills are paid and they keep harassing me, calling several times a day. The most recent phone call received was this afternoon and I told the man on the line that I have never approached them to do any sort of "business transactions" and that I wouldn't be doing business with them and he replied, "you will now." Is that a threat? They are a horrible company that seems pretty shady to me. Beware! I plan on getting them blocked from my cell phone.

- Informant| 4 repliesThe reason that we don't give out information on why we are calling is because WE CAN'T. Not without verifying who we are talking to first. And that's per the FDCPA. The F stands for Federal so it's not that we don't want to tell you why we're calling it's just that we can't without verifying some simple information first. And we don't ask for any information that somebody couldn't readily obtain from google if they wanted to. And for those of you that are paying to the hospital directly we understand. But for the hospital's policy after 6 months they send it to us either way. If you do not want this to happen make sure you talk with the hospital or physician and they can recall it from us. And if you have in fact never, ever been to a Mercy hospital OR physician than please call and work with us to figure out why we do in fact have your information. It could be a case of identity theft which is the most comman form of identity theft. If you ever feel a collector is verbally harrasive or you have a problem with them ask to speak to a supervisor.
- Lisa434I just received a call from this company AGAIN after telling them repeatly that the person they are trying to reach no longer has this number. I have had this number for 6 months but he continue to call. They even went as far as to harass my 15 yr old daughter who answered the phone while I was busy. I have asked them to take the number off the list and to stop calling. To top it all off--I work 12-8 and sleep during the day they usually call in the morning even after being told to stop. I am close to changing my number just to stop the harassment that someone else owes.

- tazma93The persistent calls are from 7am to 10pm. I have them on a silent ring.
If they could garnish my check due to a hospital bill then it would have already been done to me and I would be living on the street. AND if by any chance they do start taking my money away...I'd quit just so they wouldn't touch it. I don't have a problem paying any bill, except medical.
Yeah, I wouldn't want their job, but I try to make a living too. God forbid you get sick and owe....these little ticks don't go away.
p.s. during a credit check....Medical bills aren't count against you.- Call type: Debt collector

- PK replies to Informant| 1 replyI have to disagree with you. I got a brand new cell (new company and number) and one of my first calls was from 1-877-249-2168. The man was looking for the previous cell number owner, which I tried to explained to him. He was hateful, rude and threaten me with garnishments and possible other leagle fees.
I told him the same thing, I'm not the person and I have no clue on where to find her. I am surprised my deep voice didn't clue him in he was talking to a man.
I volunteered my name and my cell phone provider for verification. . . which I know I should have not done, but I was trying to work with that prick to show him he had the wrong number. It just shows that the people from this company are interested in working with anyone.
Other than my cell phone plan I am debt free. - PK replies to PKSorry typo
"It just shows that the people from this company are NOT interested in working with anyone."
Also, for the record he refused to give me his name and the company's name. So, like most, I googled the phone number. - MicheleThese harassing phone calls keep coming despite all attempts to convey the fact I am NOT even the person they are looking for. The calls begin every morning starting about 8:00am and they won't quit no matter what they are told.
