I got a call to from a Ms. Fondot who has left several messages on my work and cell phone asking me to call the Law Offices of Joel Cardis.  I have no idea why.  I finally called back and without even saying who I was, the operated asked if I was Diana and I said yes.  She then said this is a law office and hung up.  I thought this was strange and I called back 3 more times and they continued to hang up.  Of course I don't know what this is about and obviously they no longer wish to speak with me.  Perhaps they have discovered I work for the Federal Government.

Received a call telling me I owed $2600 to Raynham Athletic Club for a membership taken out in 8/2011.  I cancelled my membership in 8/ 2011 with "Beth", because I was moving out of the area who told me it was all taken care of.  Even after this they attempted to take the monthly fee from my bank account on 9/1 by EFT.  Thank god I made sure I had no funds available.  So, now Im being harassed for a $2600 membership fee I never used!!!!!!!  Doug the owner is a slim for trying to continue to take $$$$ for dues that are on a cancelled membership never mind have some creeps from a collection agency harass me, don't you not have enough $$$ already Doug or is this how you keep yourself in gold????  $2600 is over and beyond the cost of the family membership for the year which is only $1080 @ $90 a month, theres an extra $1520 tacked in here for what?????  Is this Cardins fee?

I am employed by a local City Government and have been for the past 20 years.  I just received a phone call today from the Law Office of Joel Cardis.  I also want to know why this Law Office is calling peoples work!!
Please stop calling my government job!!!  I do not owe any money to anyone!!!  If you believe I do, send it by mail!!!

Ms. Stevens just hung up on me because I told her to address me as Ms. Last Name.  Said she was going to seek further legal actions.  I called her back and told her she was rude and unprofessional.  She hung up again.  I've contacted my attorney, so she has a nice letter coming in the mail to her.

This company has called my house for my adult son as well.  Made threats that he would take it to court.  When I called back to find out what they specialized in they said they were just a law firm.  One person said a Joel Cardis did not work there another girl said yes he did but wasn't available when I asked to be put into his voicemail, said he didn't have one.  Each time I called, I was hung up on.  They answered no questions I asked, but kep wanting my home number.   Don't pay attention to them.

I threatened section 809 fair debt collection act and they were more defensive.  Told them to take all of the state of Indiana's phone numbers of their call list if they were not licensed.

The phone #877-444-4655 called my home phone today and said they were a law firm collecting a debt and gave a refernce # to call them back asap to keep it from going to court. When I called there was no answer but I left a message. I am reporting this # because I feel it is a scam.

I agree they called and harassed me too.I wouldn't tell them anything

Ummm.....I have been having the same problem from this company, except the guy told me he's a detective for the State of TX pd, and he has a warrant for my arrest.  FOR YOUR INFO, I did pay this bill,,,,back in 2005.  I tried to explain that I had the proof, but he just started yelling at me, calling me a thief and a liar.

Woohoo Diana!  A guy called me from a 713 number, stating he was a detective for the state of TX pd and that he had a warrent for my arrest for not paying a bill from 2005.  I told him I paid it, and he started screaming at me, threatening to have the cops show up at my mom's work.  I told him I was going to my local pd, and he said if I did, I would be arrested on the spot and could avoid that by giving him a debit card number for the amount i owed.  I gave him a number to a card that had nothing on it and went to the pd (PS, I'm in MN, not TX).  The ofc called the number and spoke to the "detective", who also told the ofc the same schpeal he gave me.  The ofc asked him to fax proof, and the guy hung up.  Then, I recieved a poorly written bill in the mail from Check Solution Services.  I have reported them to the FTC and the Fraud unit for the state.  After I typed in the phone number this guy had called me from, I learned he is calling from different phones telling people his is a detective or lawyer from whatever state the phone is registered to.  And, a lot of these people he has been calling, took out a payday loan in 2004  or 2005.

Received a voice message from 1-877-444-4655 ext 7152 at work stating that they wanted to speak to accounts payable regarding a business matter and demanded a call back no later than 5 pm today.  I have been an accounts payable for over 10 years and most companies I've dealth with identify their company whenever they leave a message.  This is quite unusual.

I just started to receive messages from this number about 3 weeks ago. When they leave a message they never state who they are calling for or anything. They just say to call this number. I know I don't owe any debts so I believe this is a scam.

do not take their calls and more importantly do not ever give out any personal information.
As a previous poster stated, once a debt is purchased by X company (which is pennies on the dollar) it no longer is your debt, it is ther debt.

DO NOT TAKE THEIR CALLS

Joel has been calling me and my nanny answered finally to be told  she was being recorded.
If he  is an attorney and debt collector why don't they send something via "certified mail".  I have no debts or money owed to anyone so is this a scam?

They left a message ref debt collection with an extension (7156) and "ID number" for my "account". Called back and the first person to answer was a female. Told her I needed the listed extension and she said that was her line. Then she asked for my phone number, and I told her...uh, you called me, and I offered the ID number they left. She said that wouldn't matter because 4 other numbers came up when I called (whatever the F that means). Gave her my phone number against my better judgement, but wanted to get to the bottom of this. She asked if I was Andrea Gomez in Superior, Az.; which I am not.. She said they had a wrong number and supposedly deleted my "account". Sounds like a scam. Maybe they are cloning cell phone numbers, who knows. Watch your phone bills for bogus usage. At any rate, they are up to no good. Researching the legitimacy of Joel Cardis next. Ignore these liars if they call you.

Thanks for the information.  I just got a call on a cell phone number I've only had for a few months, so I  looked up the number.  Thanks to all who posted comments, I didn't call back.

I had a first phone call but no left message just a hang up. I have paid all my medical bills this year.  nothing is behind.  Can't figure out why they would be calling me.  Does anyone know if they are medical bill collectors b/c I have paid them all off 12/31.
