- OperatorCalled asking for a person by first name. I explained this is a corporation of over 500 people, directory is by last name. She asked what company she called. REALLY?!?!?! I then got a full name. Put the caller on hold, she hung up. Will not answer this 877 number again. RUDE

- Tonya logsdonWas called about hospital bill and asked if I filed my taxes. No debt collectors ask that

- gotcalledGot a recorded call this am with no company name, contact info or callback number – just a recorded voice asked about a house member's name. The box said it was from 887-521-6773 (people have also complained online they also use 866-631-4680), and checking around, it seems it could be from a SCAMMER or unethical collectors (complaints include credit card theft and violating HIPPA /collections laws) that are hiding behind a legit medical collections company. Did some digging online, (at opengovus.com/new-york-business/2060805) and it seems the call might have been from MEDICAL REVENUE SERVICE, a legitimate (but maybe unethical company) based out of four addresses on file --- 755 W Nasa Blvd in Melbourne FL, 128 W Center Ave, Sebring FL, 2001 9th Avenue Ste 312, Vero Beach, FLORIDA 32960 and 645 Walnut St, Gadsden, AL 35901. They are registered in New York as a debt collections agency and their license (# 2060805) is good until Jan 31, 2021 with phone 772-794-9332. It appears the legit company may be a 2nd level medical debt collections agency and collect for a variety of medical debts across the US after the first debt collections company failed to be paid (you should have received plenty of letters and phone calls from the first, as well as the original provider asking for payment), so these may be really old debts (2 – 7 years ago).
**** MEDICAL DATA SYSTEMS, INC is the parent company registered in NY as a FOREIGN BUSINESS CORPORATION and has listed two addresses – 2001 9th Avenue Ste 312, Vero Beach, FLORIDA 32960 (current) with 2150 15th Ave, Vero Beach, FLORIDA 32960 and 1374 S Babcock St, Melbourne, FL 32901 (old from 2017 and 2009). Their website is here (www.meddatsys.com) , their phone is 888-773-2255 and email is info@meddatsys.com – they have an estimated 180 staff and $40M+ in revenue.

- Barbaradon't know half of what they are saying something about collection
- JayDebt collector for my mom that has passed away over two years. So sad and pathetic!
- Caller: Medical revenue service

- OperatorCalled a business, asking for unintelligible name, I hung up, called the number back, a hospital, not identified what hospital, billing office. Doesn't sound legit.

- K"this is Medical Revenue Services, attempting to collect a debt..." Except all of my medical debt was settled 2 years ago. Nice try.

- PhishingThis number calls and claims to be collecting debt, but for private identity theft type info (My full name, my SSN - seriously?!). If they were legitimate debt collectors, they would know who I was before they called me. When I refuse to give them private info, they claim they have to have it because of HIPPA. HIPPA protects my info, it does not require me to give it out. Then, when I refuse, they threaten me with "I'll have to report that you refused my phone call!" Yes. I refused their phishing phone call. I believe that I am not in debt to anyone - I have no outstanding bills at the local hospital they claim to be collecting for. So, I believe this is an out-and-out scam.

- leeNumber called ask personal information rather then giving any information. When asked who they are they do not respond just state they are contacting me in a legal matter, yet can't tell me what the legal matter is. They keep pushing to get personal information. The number indicates as unknown. When I ask who are they or what company the answer is always muffled, not able to understand.
- AlexI answered and the phone was ringing on the other end when I answered it as if I was making an outgoing call then they hung up on me.

- SherryGot a call for the 3rd time this week. They had my name wanted more information. I asked the guys name. I told him to put in the notes to cease and desist all calls to my number. Called back told the lady who answered I will be reporting them for harassment. Both of them were very uncomfortable with that statement. Very rude and harassing calls.

- Annathey called me 2 times per day and several days per week. When I picked up the phone, the recording says it says Medical Revenue Services, call us back. This is the work phone and I work for federal government.

- BigA replies to Aggravated Karen
Since the company name has been posted multiple times in this thread I have to wonder why you wrote that?Quote:Who knows - BigAYou will need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested). Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it. Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter. You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to. Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment. If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt, and we would all be the richer for it. Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front): http://www.consumeradvocates.org/
http://www.consumeradvocates.org/find-an-atto ... tates_value=All
Everything else you need to know follows including at least two or more federal and state agencies where you should report their criminal activities.

Website for Medical Data Systems: http://www.meddatsys.com/contact
This site claims they are a debt consolidation company which would be a huge conflict of interest: http://www.debt-consolidation.com/collection- ... venue-services/ It also claims that they are in Vero Beach, Florida.
BBB gives Medical Data Systems an A+ rating after removing the accreditation with 146 complaints, 11 negative reviews. The BBB removed the notation of a pattern of violating the FDCPA. Updated 3/4/2021: http://www.bbb.org/south-east-florida/busines ... o-beach-fl-7175

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it. You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified. If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.
First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file complaints with the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#crnt&panel1-1
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

I assumed it was a scam caller of some sort and sure enough, found all the info here. They asked for an employee by name... I did not respond & waited until the call disconnected. This number will be labeled as scam in our system.

- Teesmh| 1 replyThis number call me and I missed call so I call back. The female caller asked for my date of birth so I asked her for name of her company. After I told her I never heard of this company Medical Revenue Services she stated. the call was a business matter but she needed to verify who she was speaking with. I gave her some advice that in America due to so much fraud and identity theft good luck with calling people on the phone trying to get their personal information. And I was on the National DO NOT CALL LIST. She hung up on me. My opinion these people are definitely an illegal company
