I figured it was a collection agency again. I've had this number almost four years and had at least three different episodes with this. Must have been on a scam list before I was assigned this phone #. When I tried to return the call the response was a fax signal.

This company keeps calling asking for our daughter who is married and lives elsewhere. If I called them I'm sure they would say they couldn't speak to me about the call. My number is on the dnc list and I'd like to know how they can still be calling her. How do I block a call to my landline????? This is harassment at the highest level.

Newer phones from Panasonic (also available from other manufacturers) have a capability to block numbers. Panasonic KX-TG4731 and 4741 series phones can block numbers specified by the owner. You can also block calls when no phone number is provided, such as a call just showing "unavailable". For these to work you have to have call display subscription from your provider.

I keep getting calls looking for a guy that owned my number, is a collect agency,  All though I have asked several times that they stop calling me as this number is not longer owned by the person they are looking for, the calls continue to come. I will be changing my number as I feel now harassed by them and this will be a huge inconvenience to me!
They need to come up with ways to reach people by mail, If I don't pay my bill the numbers is given to a new costumer and someone else gets the calls!
Stop saying you will remove the number when you don't is a waist of your own staff's time to keep calling the same wrong number and a huge harassment to those of us who do pay our bills!

I had the same thing happening but my iphone was able to block them very easily

Mohsen Monavari's company called me on April 8th 2014. I had not received a placement letter advising before being called about whatever debt they are attempting to collect and refused to verify anything more than my name, yet somehow they were able to find my phone number which is a common name in the Toronto area.

I advised if they had any further intention to resolve this matter, they should communicate to me only in writing and pursue the matter in court. After receiving this call again today on April 25th 2014, I called back advising the same. The agent mumbled something about I said the same thing last time I called and she terminated the call.

I am under no obligation to disclose who I am to what amounts to nuisance telemarketing as I believe this to be a prima fascia violation of my privacy rights.

All of my debts are current and in good standing with my creditors. Should this be for a stats barred account settled and filed in Ontario Superior Court with my trustee then they have no right to pursue me. If this company purchased debt that was written off, then the original creditor is violating the terms of the agreement that specifically excludes them from being preferential creditors. They have no recourse in court to recover these monies whether they were included in the filing or not, as a majority were in agreement of these terms as an alternative to bankruptcy.

Unless this agency can produce a registered letter to my home address proving the debt was incurred after the filing, then I will ignore all future calls and file a criminal harassment complaint against this company with the Toronto Police Service.

I question how far you should have to go to protect your individual privacy in this country.   I never received a registered letter before being contacted as prescribed by law during a mandatory waiting period, so I question how far I need to go to get this company to not call me again.  Serving an up to date address is important, as it shows the significance of the debt and it being stats barred or not.  

I believe serving a "Cease and Desist" or commonly known as a C&D in an email is sufficient under the law since it does not define what registered is.  If collections agencies don't listen to verbal as in "registering in your head", hunt down the principles of the business directly.  It is up to the original creditor to decide next course of action, an agency can only initiate it if they are working directly under an attorney's licence at that point.  

In most cases if not purchased debt, it goes to another agency but a C&D could go straight to legal if still current as defined by various provincial and territorial statutes and the amount would justify the expense.  In some cases it could mean a black mark on your credit however that depends on individual situations and documents you can provide to get your credit bureau updated with notes, or even full deletion of the derogatory report or inquiry.  You might want to also get your report locked down from veracious reverse salespeople.

Any way, if you are having any trouble with this agency the owner of this company also goes by Mirmoshen Monavari.  He believes LinkedIn is an invasion of his privacy, so please email him at M.Monavari@debtcontrolagency.com as it is a more professional method of communication.  If you have any problems with his collectors, kindly contact him directly in writing.

This number 1 877 607 8957 called this morning and has been for months and finally I decided to call back and reference the file number they leave you in the recording.

As I call back and get through to the person they refuse to talk to me, telling me off and as I hang up out they called back 10 more times.  I told them I am contacting my lawyer if this continues. The lady on the phone refuses to back down and is yelling and screaming at me every time I pick up the phone for me to slam it in her face.  

DCA Financial not a legit company it is a total scam.

Do not pretend they are collectors,they are just another spam scumbags. They are always looking for someone with fake name and fake file number.Just ignore [***].

Creditors for a person we do not know. We have been receiving calls for over two years. They call at least once a day. Called them back numerous times, and asked them to remove our number from their calling list, no luck!

The caller was extremely rude, annoying, disturbing, disgusting and unacceptable!!! I counld not torlerate her anymore, terrible! awful!!!

They keep calling here too and its always an automated call, not a live person. The person they name does not live here. I am fed up too

These twits called me looking for an almost $700 payment on what they say is an unpaid debt fro 11 years ago!!  Whatever losers!!

The lady is really rude, I own my a company and owe no dept... not a good idea to screw with people

I have never had a debt so the R Kelly they are looking for is not me.I talked to these people about 6 months  ago and the calls stopped but now they have starred again

Some time in May they called and left a message asking for a call back at 877-607-8957 referring to a file number BD638454.  I called back and found out they were looking for someone elese.  Once they learned I was not the person they were looking for, I was told that my number will be struck from their list.
According to a pre-recorded intro their abreviated company name is DCA.  Their location is hard to guess.  As I was greeted in French first, then English, I would say they are located somewhere in Quebec.  There were no harsh words on their part but they did not offer any specific info either.
I will watch for this number in the future.
