I answered the call (I'm on the job hunt, have to answer every call) and then it sounded like they hung up on me.  Kinda weird

They said they wanted to "update information on my account," and confused the actual name on the account's gender since it's one of those androgynous first names (I am not the account holder, but one of the lines).  The caller was insistent on emphasizing that she knew how many lines we had, but apart from the name, she didn't have other information to give me.  The caller sounded like she was trying very hard to adapt one of those ambiguous accents you hear on televised news, and I told her I didn't trust her to be from Sprint since she had inaccurate information (though I didn't tell her what the inaccuracies were).  It sounds like a phishing scheme.

Last Wednesday I upgraded to a new Palm Pre from Sprint, updated my plan, etc. (Great phone, by the way). Today I get a call from this seemingly outsourced call center who seem to have less than current info about my plan. I suspect they're working off older info trying to upsell. Might even be a third party.

This is not Sprint/Nextel! This a scam. I got a call today around 2pm from a rep claiming her name was Jessa Morgan calling from Sprint. First questioned she asked was for my PIN! She had a very thick Indian accent (Jessa Morgan my a$$!) I questioned her on why she needed it, if she was legit she'd have access to my account. She got very flustered and said it was for my protection! I told her I didn't believe her and to stop calling me. People, be wary of these sob's. They are not telemarketers they are a whole new kind of thief. They are posers. Do not give them any of your personal info. I've reported this to the real Sprint and they said they are aware. "Jessa" said she'd call me back! LOL

They call several times a week and never leave a message. I don't answer unknown calls, and since reading these posts, I don't plan to answer this one

i work as a sprint outbound agent and that's the number we use to call customers. it's an annoying job. i dont like it but i had no choice.

we are not telemarketers 'cause we provide customer care but we process sale orders if the customer wants. the advantage of us is that we say everything when you upgrade/add a line. there are no hidden charges (like the one you get when you buy at a sprint store) because the call is always recorded for quality purposes so in case you have to complain, there's a record to back you up.

if you dont want to receive more calls all you gotta do is to say "remove me from your calling list" and we'll do it.

by the way, im located in jacksonville texas but there are other account specialists calling from nicaragua and argentina for the hispanic people.

Customer service and the fraud department at Sprint have no record of this number being a Sprint/Nextel corporation number. I know because I called about this scam. Thanks for playing.

When the first start off asking how I'm doing, I launch into a host of made up medical problems I'm suffering from.  These ailments generally range from [***] to erectile disfunction to depression.  For some reason they don't want to stay on the phone for long.

I received calls from this number and answered asking them not to call again and woman kept talking. Today they called at 12:30 p.m. and I then called Sprint to ask that calls stop. She said they do not come from the Sprint help office in FL but that she would report it and ask that they stop. We will see what happens! She also said that there is no charge to person called when you pick up!! That was NOT the point but good to hear in case you pick up by mistake.

It is a SCAM, however the callers usually get paid for every call ANSWERED and the length of the call. They are also scamming their employers. They find numbers that go to voice mail and play music or do dead silence. Usual time for a voice mail is bout 1 minute so they are making money. They know which numbers pick up, hang up, answer or keep ringing and use that information. Try hanging up on them every time you call and they usually stop. However, sometimes they have people that actually are trying to pull the scam. IT IS A SCAM, THEY WANT YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION AND MAY EVEN HAVE SOME OF YOUR INFO ALREADY SUCH AS YOUR NAME!!! Sometimes they say you won a prize but usually ask you a few "Survey" questions which gives them personal information to help them steal your identity. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANYTHING! DO NOT TRUST THEM!!! 8776711851 Keeps calling 3-5 times a day. They also use different 866 and 877 numbers as well. I think it's the same people! Sometimes I don't answer, other times I hang up on them. I have already advised them that I am on the Federal Do Not Call Registry and they are violating Federal Law, to stop calling. That hasn't stopped them. They know the law is a joke and the Feds don't have the brass to enforce anything. A private citizen can be arrested for non stop calling (it's called harassment,) but these companies can keep doing it over and over and nothing can be done. This country really is going down the toilet!
