They called left me their number and account to call.  I called and it was for XM radio.  I told them that since it was prepay, and I cancelled how could I owe money?  They told me to call XM and XM confirmed I owed them nothing.  I then called them back and found out that it's CCA (Formerly Credit Collections of America) and they're located in Massachusetts.  Well, I told them sorry but they're committing fraud and I have to refer this matter to my attorney general.  Guess what, they relooked at what they said I owed, and it was all of 88 cents now instead of the $20.97 they claimed and that they'll forgive me on it.  Amazing and unethical company.

Just spent over an hour getting hung up on by 4 different "customer service" reps at XM with all of them giving me the "our managers are not currently available" speech.  I will NEVER recommend XM to anyone or go back there again.  This is the worst tactics I've ever seen enforced by a company.  What a sham.

When I paid for 3 years of service with XM, I did not intend to marry them for life.  The service period was completed about the same time I moved.  Delays in mail forwarding now have left me with so-called outstanding bills from XM and a collection letter from CCA saying that if I don't reply in 30 days by Federal Law this constitutes that I agree that their charges are legitimate.  Yeah, right, how about you come to my door and say that.  Attempts to call XM and ensure cancellation result in me being put on hold until the line drops out and gives a busy signal.  Emails demanding cancellation resulted in "Krishna" replying that I would have to call to cancel...hard to do when you tell the automated answering system "cancel" (a choice they offer) and they then send you to a cyberspace graveyard.

XM has lost me for life.  Never again.

Just received a "call" from "Isis" at 1-877-683-1155, Collection Agency of America, stating that we had a pass due XM bill.  However, our check cleared as of today, bill is not due for two more days.  How can someone be turned over for collections two days before a bill is due, which had been paid.  Did call our attorney and was told that this definitely sounds like a "scam".  Also, we had told XM to cancel our subscription.

I received a call from 877-683 1155.  I then called XM Radios real number and asked if I owed anything.  They said I owed $21 for automatic renewal.  My original prepaid subscription was up in March and I canceled in February so I knew I didn't owe anything.  I was very agrivated on the phone with the dude and he dropped the fake charge gladly when he could seek that I was correct according to his own records.  He did try and ask me what month I canceled and I told him to look at the computer records in front of him.  This was another attempt on their part to see how much I did and didn't know.  THEY ARE SCAMMING EVERYONE.  I would suggest that anyone with XM Radio cancel immediately.

Having done an internet search on this phone number I see that it may be from XM radio.  I have cancelled my subscription and they have called EVERY day for over 3 weeks asking me to renew it.  I recognized the computer voice as the same one saying this was a collection call as were all the other calls asking me to renew.   This sure sounds like a scam and I do not owe any money.   Having read other posts from many others this is policy for XM radio and just validates that I will never now renew.

Calling everyday for 3 weeks and now this threat of "collection" call is indeed an invasion of my privacy and fraudulent.

Lets just start by saying that XM radio treats their customers like crap.
    I had 5 XM radios...YES FIVE!
I had them on auto pay for 5 years, never missed a payment.
Same thing happened to me....I owe $86.00 for 3 months they gave me before they turned my radios off.
Now I cant even listen to the music/shows I RECORDED off the air on my OWN RADIOS that I payed $360.00 each for!  What the hell is this?
They have no right to zap my radios that BELONG TO ME, because I didnt want their service.
I can still use MY RADIO...right?  Or at least I should not have my radio zapped by XM, so they are unusable.
It says, unless you pay your account, your radios will not function!
It didnt say that in the brochure...or the instructions.
XM says that that also should not happen.  whats up with this picture?
XM IS IN BIG FINANCIAL TROUBLE, AND WILL BE DECLARING BACKRUPTCY IN THE NEAR FUTURE!
If they treated their customers correctly, they would have me as a customer still.  But nooooo...treat me like [***]...and I will never use them again.
Guess what?  They DONT CARE!  THIS IS FROM XM SUPERVISOR DIRECTLY!.

XM IS DONE.  I CAN GET THE SAME FROM STREAMING ON THE INTERNET.
I dont need XM and neither do you!
    DUMP XM!~NOW!

    SS_Rusty///XM's WRONG
Well it started just like everyone else, with a call from this company.  When ever someone calls me from a Toll free number: 800, 888, 866, 877, etc, I Google it to see who it is.  Well That search brought me to this site and this discussion about This Number.  I read what everyone else said and just got plain MAD.  When XM started it was a Pay as you go, or pre-paid service.  You pay or it don't play for you.

After about 5 days from my initial call I got a notice, letter of collections, in the mail.  It is rather rude and they DEMAND payment of this account.  It does tell you what to do if you dispute the charges.  Well Thanks to everyone here on this site, I knew better then to follow the dispute instructions, and just called XM direct.  The following is a time line of what happened, if you care to read.

At 10:04 I placed the Call to XM.

10:06 I started my conversation with Cust. Rep. #1

10:15 I was transferred to a different department.

10:23 Cust. Rep #2 pick up the line

10:29 Cust Rep #2 said she couldn't help me that, I had to pay the charges before they could close the account and cut off services, (Interject, my service has been cut off, I thought sense May).  I asked to speak to a supervisor and was put on hold at that time, (10:29)

10:38 Cust. Rep #2 answers phone again, laughing, telling me that she was able to get in contact with a supervisor but that person was currently busy and asked me to wait on hold or they could call me back.  I waited.

10:59 Call abruptly ended, they hung up on me.

11:02 I call back XM radio

11:07 Cust. Service Rep #3 answers phone

11:09 Having told the story for a third time, but this time adding that I feel the Better Business Bureau, FCC and my State's A.G. would love to hear what XM is doing how they are treating their customers; I was put on hold again, but the first time by this guy.

11:10 He checked back with me, and put me back on hold.

11:11 He came back on the line and talked with me and assured me that he was truly sorry about what I had gone through today.

11:13 He, Cust Service Rep #3 informed me that they hated to see my account closed, but that it was closed with a Zero Balance.  I asked for written conformation from XM that my account is indeed at zero due and had gave me instructions on how to get the done

After all of this, I followed #3's instructions and am waiting on written conformation from XM that the account is at Zero due.  After I did that, I called the number that started it all, the collection company, and spoke with them and what I had found out, from start to finish.  He didn't want to listen, but I kept talking and sort of made him.  After I was done he said, "let me check XM's system, I'll be right back."   A few short moments later he came back on the line and confirmed that XM had zeroed out my account and he cleared out my account out of their system.  I will keep an even closer eye on my credit for a while after this to make sure no ill has come to it from these guys, but all in all its done.

My advise to ANYONE who get a call from these people it to contact XM first, STICK TO YOU GUNS, and get it cleared from XM's side, get written conformation from them, and then call the Collection Agency and let them clear you out of their system.  Its a lot of calling and such, but to me its worth it to keep my credit in good shape.

XM said they have no way to bill except auto pay (auto Renewal).  I got very vocal with them every time they siad that because, EVERY YEAR I called them to pay the next year's bill they would try to put me on that and I would tell them that they Wont put me on auto pay, and every year they do.  So it appears that they are wanting to keep as many people in the dark about this billing.

Funny how all of this seems to have come about sense March and after, nothing before......My Wife's XM came due in Feb 2009, before we go married, and let it go due to not being able to afford it.  She didn't call them or anything, just let it go, like I did.  She has received NOTHING from XM or this collection agency.   Again Funny it's all after March 2009.....

Got the same recorded call. Had a feeling it was XM. They have called dozens of times and even sent me a bill. This was a new car purchase with the one year trial. When it was time to renew, I declined.  I even tried to call the number and no one answered. Now I am selling my stock in the company. They must be in big trouble having to resort to tactics like this.

I got the same call from this number.  I have had a hell of a time with xm radio.   I sold a car that i had on my account and called xm radio to take that radio off my account and they never did and still have not.  I talked to someone 4 times and emailed them 5 times.  Within two weeks xm radio told me that I owed three different amounts.

I thought I would post a little information for anyone having issues with their service. If you have tried to contact customer service and are still having issues use the following information to reach the higher ups at Sirius XM Radio.

Remember if you do call or write an email stay calm and polite.

The first number to call is the executive customer service line at 1-888-635-5142.

If that fails or you want to go higher up contact the man in charge of it all.

    CEO Mel Karmazin – mkarmazin@siriusradio.com

    New York, NY 10020
    Phone: (212) 584-5100
    Fax: (212) 584-5200

Just a note if you call or email Mel you will not be speaking directly to him.

I have had issues with other companies in the past bypassing Customer Service always resulted in a positive outcome.

    Hope that helps!
