Canceled my XM radio subscription in advance of the contract ending - Result - instead of honoring my subscription for the duration of the contract, my Radio was turned off.  My wife and I have spent hours on the phone trying to get this resolve and get credit for the last couple month and half of subscription.   Still unresolved.  They have cleverly found all of my phone numbers and left multiple messages stating that I owe them money.  XM Radio has to be one of the most corrupt and unethical businesses out there.  This is harrassment.  I am reporting to the BBB as well as to the attorney general.  I will not let a low rate business ruin my hard earned, above board credit.  I really wish I did not have to spend another minute on this issue.

Same as above, I didn't renew my service and they want to bill me repeatedly, even after I talked to them and they waived my fees!  NEVER AGAIN.

Got the same call.  I called to cancel about 4 months ago b/c of trying to cut back on bills.  They told me at that time that i could get 3 months for free and if i wanted it after that i could keep it so of course i got the 3 months free, why not?  They didn't shut it off after the three months and started calling me to collect about a month after the initial 3 months.  Called them back and told them i wasn't going to pay it and they told me it was going to go written up as an unpaid balance so i called XM and they tried to throw up the same argument with me so i asked to talk to the persons manager.  She put me on hold and then came back and said that they were crediting my account.  Took me a little bit of time (about a 1/2 hour in total with both companies) but eventually they dropped it.  I hardly doubt they'll take anyone to court for 35 dollars. Don't let them try and get something that you didn't pay for.

Same problem with XM collection agency. Called XM and told them I never authorized renewal. I told the representitive that I talked with, that they are making many enemies by doing this. She said it would be straightened out. We'll see. I was thinking about renewing, but now there is no way.

Got the call from the collection agency and googled the number. This is obviously a big problem. In July my debit card expired, I was contacted by XM. I called and gave them the new epiration date. my bank account was never charged. Now I've been turned over to a collection agency. I talked for 30 minutes to someone in the XM call center. The only thing she could offer me was pay the $38 dollars you owe us and eventually the collection agency will drop it. The fact that I have been turned over to a collection agency damages my credit. XM has lost me as a loyal customer.

I got the same call about my XM radio, when it was time to re-new I called and cancelled, they turn off my radio, three days later the radio was back on, a month later they sent me a bill for $29.85, when I called back about this, all I got was a run around, ask for a supervisor, this person still gave me a run around, I threated them with legal action for fraud, they credited my account, I also told them never to re-new or activate any account with my name, phone number, or address.  Never do business with XM they have become the biggest scam artist I have ever seen.

Same as everyone else. Got the call from 877-683-1155 on 11/13/10 and was asked to press 1 (I think it was 1) to confirm it was me. It stated I was confirming my identity by doing this and by doing so acknowledged this was an attempt to collect a debt. When I asked who they were they told my they were EOS CCA. The person I talked to was extremely rude and aggressive. I explained I had cancelled my XM account in Nov. 2009. I asked if he was with XM and he said he was not. However, he stated that if I had not called XM to cancel on the EXACT date of renewal that my account would not have been cancelled at all and implied I was lying. After a heated conversation, I ended it by asking for his name and telling him I would be reporting this to the FCC and BBB and that it was total scam (little did I know until I read all of this thread). That got his attention and he promptly asked why I would want to do that - DUH.

I Google'd the phone number when I got home and found this thread and more. Wow.

Today (11/14/10) I called XM. Fortunately I had read all of this first. I started the conversation by politely explaining to the CSR (who was in the Philippines, BTW) that I had read about this all over the internet and every story I read was exactly the same as mine. I asked if he would look at my account and tell me if I had ever skipped or been late in paying in the history of my account (I prepay the year up front and have been a customer since 2002 - 8 years!). He said no, that it was perfect.  I asked him why he thought that would suddenly change. He didn't think it would. He claimed no knowledge of the collection agency (EOS CCA) or the 1-877-683-1155 telephone number. He asked if he could put me on hold so he could talk to his supervisor.

When he came back he could not have been more helpful. Again, my story is the same as those here- he zeroed my balance and filed an adjustment reference number for that. He acknowledged and re-noted on my account that I had indeed cancelled my subscription in Nov. 09. I also pressed him for an activity ID number that referenced and documented the call, which he provided. He also provided his name and employee ID number when I asked how I could contact him directly (apparently he didn't have or did not want to provide an extension or direct #).

This one CSR at XM was the only decent experience I had throughout this. XM is running a shameful and unethical business. Think about it - they do this to 10,000 people (just an example number, could be more or less) and 1/2 of those people are bullied and pay the $36 (the number in my situation) they add an extra $180k to their bottom line just like that. Plus they will probably keep trying to bill you claiming you hadn't cancelled your account and that would start the whole cycle over again.

XM has lost a customer for life and I will tell everyone who will listen everything that happened to me and the others here. I am filing with the FCC and BBB right after this post is done.

Stand up for yourselves, people. Be respectful but self-assured and you will prevail.

Got the same call and looked it and found this.  I had the service in a car that I traded in with a month of service left.  I never called to cancel but did get calls about the service about to expire so I figured it would expire and it would be over.  Today I got the collection call - I called XM and was told the agreement has an auto two month renewal and I had to pay that.  I told them I did not have the car and that I have read online that this is an illegal charge.  After a few minutes and being on hold twice they cleared my account and took me off the collection list.  Booltleg way to do business.

I called to cancel at the end of a 4 year relationship.  Called 4 times.  The third time they said I had to call a different number.  The number they gave me was the one I called.  I emailed to cancel,  Now that collection agency is calling.

I got this call today and the actually want me to pay *unpaid* fees... I had a lifetime subscription when I signed up 5 years ago.  They billed me for 187 dollars for next year, I refused and canceled my subscription.  3 months later, guess what? a call rings in from this number stating that I owe them $30 for the continued service that they decided to do.  Canceled means canceled, or at least so I thought.  Steer clear of this scum filled company that is going bankrupt and want to steal your money from you.  Keep pressing the issue XM and my atty will answer next time.

I repeatedly called XM Radio prior to getting  a call from the same number last week. They left a message on my answering machine. Today I got a collection notice from an agency saying I owe $38.73, I no longer own the car they are billing me for and I only paid for enough months that I would own the car. I am so furious with them. I would have purchased the service for my new car, but because of this I have no intention of doing so

May 2010 and this is still going on!  Got the same call, I was actually going to pay but I happen to google the number first and go this.
XM tells me the account is closed and we have a zero balance.  The "collection agency" says XM must be looking at the wrong screen.  I told them call XM right now and do not call my house and hung up on the person.  Now I have to go to XM to get something in writing that states we have a zero balance. My next stop is the BB.

    Hi
I mailed The Amount Owed You $43.64 On May 24th 2010. I received a Phone call from EOS-CCA on May 25th 2010. (I was a subscriber for SIX years and never missed a payment.) I would appreciate it if you would take care of them. As I don't have the time to put up with your Bull [***]. In the first place it was your choice to leave the radio on after I called and told you I had decided to quit subscribing to XM Radio. This is pretty bad PR I don't think you will be in business long with this type of PR. Here is some proof.
(https://800notes.com/phone.aspx/1-877-683-1155)If I were you I would pay attention to this web site. Because your goons are doing a pretty good job of ripping people off. They diffidently are doing a hell of a lot better job then your PR department is. So if you need some help please let me know. I might want to subscribe again if you’re still around.
    Yours Truly
